  1. That seems quite fast wear - down to 3mm or less in under 10k miles. Are PZero's soft compound? Mine had high wear on the front tyre inside edges - camber was slightly out according to the lexus alignment print. Just fitted new set of SP9000s at 400 quid - would hope they last longer than a year.
  2. Just took a pic of it - I can email it if you let me know what yr address is. The email link at the bottom of message doesn't work for me.
  3. Raz I just fitted some Lexus 'etched' glass decals to the qtr lights of my IS200 SE - they look really good and are the right size. Got them off ebay and am well pleased - subtle but nice. Here on ebay
  4. Just found this link - may be useful? Click me!
  5. Anyone know how I can get hold of this service bulletin? looks like I may need to take it in to them.
  6. Great - took the lexy into my local dealer today for work to stop the suspension knock and they did nowt! Took it for a test drive at the end of the day, used an amazing amount of fuel for the 10 miles covered, and just told me to book it in for a wheel alignment check after easter. Suspension still knocks, calipers still creak when braking on a corner, and Lexus do naff all. Seriously annoyed, and still don't know what's knocking. They blamed caliper slides originally, but took wheels off and both calipers have same amount of 'play' in them on the slides. Should they be like this? I'm talking about movement between the part fixed to the hub and the actual caliper section. At a bit of a loss what to do next. Help!
  7. Brettster, where are your latest set from? Sounds like they are getting damaged by excess voltage - possibly need a small resistor/voltage reg to protect them. Anyone else have problems with these led sidelights blowing?
  8. The LED side lights (501 wedge type) arrived this morning - fitted them and am well impressed. Instead of the single LED these have multiple LEDs making them very bright and pure white. See here for the type I got. Will have to wait until tonight to see what they're like in the dark, but they are many times brighter than the filament bulb I had in before.
  9. All tyres exactly 33psi. Will get Lexus to check it out today when they've fixed the offside caliper.
  10. Bought my IS about a month ago - soon noticed that the steering felt as if the front wheels were starting to 'drift' at speed (90+). By drift I mean the front felt like it was getting light, almost as if it was on ice. Found uneven tyre wear on the fronts (inside edge almost bald) so got tracking checked at serice. Camber slightly out on 1 wheel but otherwise OK - all green now. Changed tyres today to set of 4 new SP9000 Lexus. Driving home car still feels a bit odd - again light at front end at speed. Is the power steering supposed to be speed sensitive? Doesn't feel like it is to me, but would I be able to notice the difference? Bit confused :duh: . Car going back to dealer tomorrow for replacement front caliper - any suggestions what to check next? Any advice welcome. Surely the IS should feel well 'planted' to speeds well in excess of 100 mph (on private land of course! )
  11. These look quite good - anyone got a pair fitted? I may order a pair at the same time as the spoiler Alex. Are indicator LEDs available for the back? I replaced the amber bulbs with some silver ones but they don't flash very bright (look better though!) Still not sure if they would work though - anyone know?
  12. I've just ordered a pair of multi LED white sidelamps. I'm now interested in changing the rear indicator and stop/tail lamps with LEDs. Has anyone done this, and where did you get the lamps from? Do the indicators work with LED bulbs, as I've heard some systems won't flash without a normal filament bulb in place.
  13. Smalley spoiler more subtle I think. I'm going to fit one like this Clik 4 Pic Just trying to find best place to get one. This manufacturer is not replying to their emails so may have to look elsewhere. Next door neighbour has an Imprezza and I don't want my IS to look like his car - hence small spoiler!
  14. I'm after some ice white headlamp bulbs to give that HID look. What are the best ones to fit as a direct replacement for the stock low beam bulbs? I don't want to fit the cheapy blue painted versions that apparently blow up really quickly - there seem to be a few decent ones on ebay but not for IS200s.
  15. Morning all Took my IS in for it's 80k service last week and asked them to investigate a knocking sound from the front offside suspension. Apparently it's due to worn brake sliders (?), and they have to order the parts. Is this a regular problem, and is it likely to affect the handling? The reason I ask is that I was driving at speed yesterday (don't ask how fast! ) and the handling felt a bit odd. By odd I mean it felt like the front was very light, almost as if the car was 'lifting off'. The tracking was adjusted at the service due to uneven front tyre wear (down to 1mm on inside edges) and is now all back in the green. I expected this car to feel really good at all speeds but this doesn't seem to be the case. By the way - all tyres are at 34 psi. Michelin Pilot Sport fronts, Goodyear Eagle F1s rear. Any comments or advice greatly appreciated.
  16. Anyone know how to remove the rear speaker grilles on the parcel shelf? I've tried levering them off but they feel like they're going to break. Need to remove them to clean out some window cleaner the last owner spilt. Looked in the boot but no obvious fastners in there. Thanks
  17. My lights used to go dim when I adjusted the electric seat - new battery and no problems.
  18. Had my wheels aligned at the 80k service yesterday as the inside edge of both front Michelin Pilot Sports was worn down. Caused by wrong camber setting by the looks of the report. I've got Goodyear Eagle F1s on the back, but all 4 need replacing really. Does the new Eagle F1 GSD3 have a rim protector? As my wife drives the IS soetimes I think rim protectors are essential! Blackcircles.com has GSD3s for 106.33 fitted, what do you think? How long do they last with 'normal' driving?! Many thanks
  19. Do Lexus actually fit a brand new unit or are they reconditioned? If an older style unit fails with an Err3 message, is it replaced with the newer type with the CD slot at the top. Has anyone had any problems with their replacement unit or is the problem fixed in those - ie able to read CD-Rs etc.
  20. This may be worth a try - put it in gear, 4th or 5th shoud do, and try to push it slightly. I don't know if Lexus's have this problem but I had a car not too long a go which would do this occasionally, and just moving the engine, and hence flywheel slightly seemed to do the trick. I think the teeth on the flywheel just slightly disagreed with the starter motor teeth.
  21. Thanks - just checked the svc book and the colour is Royal Saphire. Checking the knowledge base on this site the paint code is 8m6. On the spoilerdepot web site the colour name for 8m6 is Spectra Blue. Am I right in assuming this is the same as Royal Saphire? I suppose they don't use the work Royal in the US much!! Has anyone else got one of these fitted already?
  22. I really like these boot spoilers - Click here - but their site says they are for IS300 2001-2004. My IS200 is year 2000 (built in 99), so will this fit OK? Also my IS is metallic blue - please can anyone tell me what the Lexus colour name/paint code is for that year. Are these available in the UK? Thanks for any help - much appreciated. :)
  23. Suede inserts much nicer - I think the full leather seats look a bit naff, but of course just my own humble opinion! Trump absorbing much beter with suede - hee hee! Scott - got any more short aerials. Ade won the last one you had on ebay
  24. Anyone know where to get one of the B*W shark fin types from? How do they fit on?
  25. And with an IS200 it doesn't matter how boring you job is, you look forward to driving to work! My wife works for a Lexus dealer so brings them home every now and then - did this for a year until I broke and bought myself an IS200. Watch a Beemer driver's envy as you drive by them - everyones got one and they know it!!! ;) I might sell the house and misses and get a 300 next.
