  1. Another 'bring her up to date' thing happened this week.

I bought a flip key from fleabay that has a housing that you can just put the old buttons and gubbins straight in to. Only £5. What can I lose I thought, then I found out that everyone wanted £20 to cut the blade. Anyway it had to be done as both my master keys make a cracking sound when I start the car. I've bought some little Lexus mirror stickers too that I'll be sticking on the back to make it more authentic. They'll be here soon.

Wow, that makes the front really low. They'll look great when they're painted.

I think I'm gonna go with this one. It just really annoys me that they're so cheap to buy but the postage more than doubles it.

  3. Pads and discs fitted. I'm extremely happy with the fit and quality. I know some cheaper pads come with a terrible paint finish or the back plate is out of shape and need a bit of filing to get them to fit nicely in the calliper, but these were lovely.

Time will tell how they fair. The kit seems well worth the low price at the moment.

  4. Would there be a possibility of paying a household nearby to the medical centre to use their drive during business hours while they're at work. If your wife is paying say £5 per day just to get your car damaged then why not see if you could pay a householder the same. It's a win win situation, and just a matter of finding that willing person. Maybe with a shop window or medical centre notice board ad?

Its starting to happen around our area quite a lot these days.

    Just another option buddy.

  5. Bought these today as my o/s disc got a bit wonky when it got cooked by a sticky calliper slider. Another bargain I think as once again Lexus wanted me to remortgage to have OEM ones and my local motor factor wanted £105.

    Time will tell I suppose.

  6. Off topic a bit but my wife made noises about me spending so much time on my car and hers starting to look a bit like a shed. So today I spent 4 hours on it inside and out. I have to say it looked awesome at the end of it all. Here's some piccys.

    Hi peeps,

I was watching videos on YouTube when this one came on next. At 5.08s he mentions scraping the mat black finish off the grill fins to reveal the shiney 'chrome' underneath. I have noticed the 'chrome' before where there are little stone chips. I just wondered if any of you had done the scraping, what method you used and what the results were like?

    Cheers,

    Bod

Well I did the grill Mod. Worked really well.

    Good stuff.

Has anyone done away with the rear headrests and just gone with the roll hoops inside them? I think they'd look pretty cool chromed.

I thought the very same thing yesterday when I saw the finished picture. I think that would look cool in this particular build as the seats are invisible anyway.

Go on @Neil E doo it doo it doo it doo it!

  9. A very good thread here. I was going to ask that question in a few weeks about front or rearfor new tyres. I've always put my new tyres on the front as I've always had FWD cars, using the thought process of the fronts doing the driving, braking and steering.

Now having the Lexus I wasn't sure where to put the new treads.

Well done @Ala Larj for asking a stupid question.

  10. More blinging today after fitting the new radiator.

I decided to bite the bullet ( what ever that means) and rub some paint off the front grill to see if there really is chrome underneath as suggested on another thread.

I gave it a gentle rub with some wet P1200 grit wet n dry. The paint actually comes off really easily.

I think it's another lift for the old gal to give her that younger look again and another nod to the American spec GS.

    You like or no?
