  1. John, would those filters be on a 2002 GS300 as well? Bod
  2. I'm not new but have just signed up to gold membership using the black Friday deal.🙌🎅 Bod
  3. 9Hi again, I've found a box under my central consol marked TVSS. Google says it's a Transient Voltage Surge Suppression device. Why would this be adjustable? Also it's only stuck on with a sticky pad. Could it be part of the Lexus phone kit that was originally in here? Thanks Bod.
  4. That kind of bares out what my local guys were saying about the £400 systems. Thanks for that Newbie. It's nice to learn that you can be confident in a supplier and that he's telling you genuine information andf not just trying to rip you off.
  5. Me too. Mid 20's if I'm lucky but I'm not usually that lucky. I my defense, it's not really my fault. There always seems to be someone going slowly in front of me. Probably the OP.
  6. I found two custom build exhaust places near me and had a good long chat with both owners. The first one said that the £920 price was about right for the top quality pipe that should be used for a quality job as there is over five metres of pipe with two resonators and two large silencers on a GS. They also both said that the job could be done for around the £400 mark, but the pipe would be thin and it would experience cracking where the hanger brackets are welded on and possible cracks on the welded joints, and would rust slowly as the metal has a higher steel content and all probably within two years. Whereas the thicker gauge steel would last around fifteen years and won't rust at all. The second guy (Bim at Demand Engineering near Ipswich) gave me a quote of £790 all in which is £130 cheaper than Powerflow, but I noticed on his Facebook page that last year he did a very successful 15% discount in December which if he did it this year would bring my bill down to £671.5. That's much more doable. Also his clientele include Guy Martin and McLaren. Bod.
  7. Thanks everyone, I contacted all of the above and they all come in at around the £400 pound mark. They are all a good few hours from me so I'll do what I should have done before I troubled my friends on here and look for a custom build place near me stressing that others can do it for around the £400 Thanks again, Bod
  8. Hi, I read on here a while ago about someone who had a good and fairly cheap exhaust job done at their local Powerflow dealership. My 2002 GS300 needs a 'Cat Back' system as the flange joints are rusted through where the'Y' pipe joins the silencers, and the silencers themselves are starting to come apart. I've done the pointless exercise of visiting my local Lexus dealer and they came up with their silly number as usual of £1200 plus fitting, so I found my local Powerflow people and asked for a quote for standard size, shape and noise level and got the quote of---------wait for it-------- £920. I mean, come on. This is rediculous. I only paid £1000 for the whole car 4 months ago. Next visit was to an exhaust trade place in Norwich (Exhausts Unlimited) that basically supplies all the the local garages in the area and they said the GS system is not available on the pattern part market. There is a place that advertises their complete 'Cat Back' supply and fit stainless steel system on Ebay for £400ish down in London but their reviews are mixed and I could do without going up and down to London if I have an issue. So, what next? Any advice please. Thanks, Bod
  9. My wife has never collected anything unless you count shoes, hand bags and perfume. I've always collected cars, be they models (corgi when I was a boy) or real. I still have the Corgi collection but no boxes as I wanted them to play with and not have them as shelf queens. I have 5 real cars at the moment and have recently sold all my OO gauge lay out as the fun for me is in the collecting and building, and I had reached the limit of space. Watching the trains go round and round just didn't work for me so it had to go which helped to fund my ongoing Capri restoration. It can sometimes be a problem for blokes that have a hobby as most ladies don't seem to. Bod
  10. I too wanted one of those Jags back this summer. I've had Toyotas all my driving life and in the last ten years they have always been the sensible, economic type (one of which had to have a new engine at 60,000 miles). So I decided I wanted a big luxury barge after my Corollas injectors gave up at 155,000 miles. I've always wanted a Jag so I went on their forum to ask about the pitfalls of owning one and not one person replied after 40 views. Ok I thought, back to my old faithfuls, I'll try an LS. Jumped on this forum and asked the same question, only to be greeted by instant and copious amounts of advice and friendly chat on different model Lexi (I think). In the end I went for a GS300 at a give away price of £1000 as the smaller car suited me needs best. I absolutely love it and don't think I'll ever buy a different marque ever again. Bod
  11. I thought I'd chip in just for giggle. My friend moved house and when his plastic licence came back he had received the entitlement to drive a 44 ton articulated truck. He didn't report it and still has that entitlement. Bod
  12. Love the Ferrari GTO and the American GTO. I don't mind where the thread goes really. All the things in it are stuff I like but I will update the title. Edit.. don't know how to edit the title so it'll have to stay as it is.🤓
  13. Yes. The wife and I love our Rock a Billy and Rock'n'Roll music and dancing. Here we are look.
  14. Ok time for a retake on a proper camera to re enforce my manly credentials and a better shot of the showroom.
  15. Lol, it's not really pink. It is in fact a deep red but the the combination of s**t light and c**p camera on my kindle fire makes it look pink. (He said all defensively lol)
  16. After all this time I've just found out that you are correct. It goes all the way up for radio2 and does it's drop down thing when on my local Radio Norwich 99.9. Cheers guys, helpful and correct as always. Bod
  17. Just me and you then fella. I love my music and just can't bare it through crappy blue tooth things or through hardware that's designed for movies or stuff like that.
  18. I always look for the bargains. I paid £45 for the GS which is an AUTOart and the LS that's coming was only £24 coming from France. This one is a Norev. Both are very detailed with opening doors, boots and bonnets. The RRP prices are outrageous . Pictures of the LS that's coming on a sleigh .
  19. I've started a model showroom in 1:18 scale of cars I own. I have a model LS460 coming for Christmas even though I don't own one---------yet!!! Anyone else got any models? Pictures Thanks Bod
  20. No change to the insurance Roy, they just called it an accepted modification as I told them it was a Toyota mod. This is true in a loose way as the chip is designed and produced be someone at Lindop Toyota in Swindon. You are correct rayaans, it's fitted to a Rav 2.2 TD Invincible. So no point in chipping a GS really. Thought as much. Bod
