  1. I don’t think it’s an issue. My CTEK one has LEDs that are constantly flashing and I’ve never had a flat battery. The power draw is very minimal.
  2. For those with a CTEK charger like me, I was contemplating one of these for a flush OEM look: https://www.ctek.com/uk/battery-chargers-12v-24v/accessories/car-accessories/indicator-panel-1-5m For now I have the dangly thing in the boot like pictures above, that functions just as well, so I’ve held off. also afraid to disconnect the battery for fitting something like this after all the issues people have had with fried head units!
  3. I had this issue earlier in the year and ended up replacing the sensor myself. If it’s the front two in the grille it’s not too hard. A good OBD dongle connected to your phone via Bluetooth with a free app will help you pinpoint which sensor it is. There’s a different error code for each sensor Swapping a known working one on your car (all sensors are the same on the car), clearing OBD errors with the app, then seeing if it flags again will pinpoint if it’s a wiring issue or just a duff sensor.
  4. What is that white funnel-like piece that OP was turning in the video used for?
  5. Sorry to hear of the great expense. This is what insurance is for however. Can you not claim?
  6. Definitely need to do this in mine. My biggest frustration is the low pointing lights.
  7. Looks fantastic! From the driver seat, do you lose view of the right edge side of the screen? Anyone faced any durability issues of their aftermarket screens? Car screens get some pretty strong heat and direct sun, even in the UK at times, baking in the sun. I am somewhat tempted to undertake this but I’d hate to be undoing this work in 12-24 months if the screen dies, putting the factory unit back in.
  8. But would you just do it and use them anyway? Unlikely it’ll cause any issues for you.
  9. If I purchased my Lexus today, on the premise I’d get 15 years of warranty if I kept on having the hybrid battery check each year, I’d be somewhat miffed if the goalposts moved. It’s a good job I don’t care to get it checked and therefore an not relying on the warranty Yes, terms may change for new customers, but if that’s what the salesperson and their literature said when I went for it, it ought to be honoured.
  10. I imagine that, if reasonably competent and not afraid you will break a clip, that you’d do a more careful job, and therefore an arguably better job, than most tradesmen. After all, it’s not them that will have to live with a rattle. They’d also likely dispute they caused any rattle as well, even if you accused them so.
  11. Took mine off after my son spilled some water. Wanted to dry it. Just needs a good tug to get it off. No bolts to undo. 2013 Is300h F-Sport in case it’s changed on facelifts.
  12. Nice gesture! Are you sure you don’t want anything for it? I’d put it to use, I have the joystick and my car has an SD card, albeit an old version now!
  13. Looks great. How long did it take to install? And where do you situate the unit they provide?
  14. I understand it can be dangerous due to voltage. So be careful. I had read the best way is to disconnect a fuse for the headlamps in the under bonnet fuse box. Someone with more experience may be able to affirm this.
  15. Worth a read here. There’s also a few posts elsewhere on the forum too.
  16. I do wonder if the ones from a good local tyre shop will be any good. They may last a sufficient period for the shop to give a reasonable warranty of say 12 or 24 months but I’d hate to have to replace them every couple of years if they just don’t last like genuines. Not that a Lexus dealer would give much more in terms of warranty but at least we’ve all seen our genuine parts last. Mine are still on original sensors at ten years old.
  17. Faulty wing mirror and faulty wing mirror bulb are very different things. Bulb should be changeable. How that’s done, I am sure someone will tell.
  18. Glad it sorted you out. My part was just under £15 when I purchased when I first made this post. Now £22.20. That’s inflation for you!
  19. I have this on my 2013 F-Sport with memory seats. Very useful to me. It was enabled by default, I used no device like Carista to enable it.
  20. It was leaking coolant and there was some play in the bearing / where it spins (I’m not that well versed on the part names). He showed me the play in the motor he removed. I had white powdery stuff which is the coolant, dried up, on the bonnet insulation. It was not a major leak but was only going to get worse. Over how long that would be is anybody’s guess. It’s a 2013 on 81K miles. Coolant level wasn’t low as such, so it was slow. As you said, I too did it for peace of mind. I’ve seen other posts here suggesting 80K is when they start to leak a little. Not an outright failure but just starting to deteriorate. Should be good for another ten years hopefully, maybe longer if the design is updated.
  21. Interesting to hear, thanks. I had in fact had the exact same job (genuine parts) done for £270 from Lex-Tek Autos in Sheffield. Was curious to know how it compared to dealers so thank you. I knew it’d be cheaper but no idea how much Lexus would have wanted.
  22. How much did they charge you for the water pump / fitting @Dells?
