  1. Hi All My IS-F is up for sale and I have had lot of interest from the continent. Not much from the UK overall. It looks like Japanese sports cars sell very well and for quite a decent value out there. A chap from France is willing to come over to buy the car, this is fine but the main thing is how to deal with the payment? I have proposed Transferwise but he has another solution in Paycar.fr. Looks fairly genuine and is an escrow service, instant transfer of funds. The price is too high to realistically consider carrying that large sum of cash. Does anyone have any experience or how best to ensure the payment is secure in this situation please? International bank transfers take a few days, can be reversed and also hit with quite high fees. I guess the risk could be on either side, that the buyer starts the transaction before coming over...risk in not seeing the car yet or then the buyer is here and I can't confirm transfer of funds. Any help or views would be welcome, thanks in advance.
  2. The ones with a sunroof are ultra rare on an already rare model. Feel free to take a look at mine in the for sale section... the air con is ice cold so you might not miss the sunroof! Vijay
  3. Hi All My IS F is up for sale in the For Sale section of the forums, please take a look and message if you would like any more information. Vijay
  4. Its crazy when you see such a list of repairs, nothing on my IS F for the last 2 years except for a set of rear tyres, 11k miles in 2 years daily driver. Is it just chance if a component is on its way out? I went for the Lexus over M3, RS4, AMG combo for this reason alone...much debated over the years on this forum I am sure.
  5. Few from a cloudy day at Pendeen Watch Lighthouse in Cornwall and some sunny day pics too 😉
  6. Finally had a chance to get out with the car and my camera today. Still looking to scout out some cool locations for a more dramatic photoshoot but these will do for now! VJ
  7. Well done and welcome to the club, exactly the same colour/wheel combo as mine!! Blue is the best of course haha. Had mine about 2 months and loving it, I wish I had the luxury of a driveway, mine lives on the road side :( Enjoy.
  8. Evening All Spotted a site article and linked thread on Pistonheads today - https://www.pistonheads.com/features/ph-features/v8s-are-great/36375. Hopefully I am not breaking any forum rules by discussing another forum but I like the idea of keeping up exposure. If you have an account, a friendly post of an F would be fun! I have spotted a fellow owner has also posted a picture of a black car which I think I have seen here but can't track it down at the moment, looks awesome.
  9. I went from £50 to £450 changing from my Civic to the IS F, as per Martin's original post - no other changes apart from car ownership. Maybe it is to do with the rarity and high parts value maybe? (I am with Hastings Direct.....)
  10. Hi Nathan I am interested in raising the profile of our IS Fs. My involvement is largely based on the date of the shoot and whether it clashes with work trips abroad in July/August. Can wrangle a day off while in the UK. Also, my car is not in A1 condition in terms of paintwork, only had it for 2 weeks! Please send me a direct message if you would like to discuss further. Vijay
  11. As the title says, just...because - and to bring a bit of Ultrasonic Blue back to the thread haha!!!
  12. I am enjoying driving it for sure! V8 for my daily/only driver! I just missed out on JapFest Silverstone but am hoping I can make it to JapFest Donington on 1st July. I am hoping to share the car with all those who appreciate it too at shows/meets etc if I can make it. Once I get more settled I can get some nice photos sorted too. I just found "sport" mode this afternoon but haven't tried it with manual mode yet.... plan for tomorrow lol!
  13. Thanks for all the thumbs ups! Interesting to know about the wheels - seems like they are popular and rare.... Its actually my first real performance car. My last car was a '06 1.8 Civic and previously I had a '00 CLK 230 Kompressor. This is a huge step up for me! Obviously the F gets compared in the group of M3, C63, RS4 and XFR. I really went for it for the V8, reliability and the 'big car comfort' that you also get from a Lexus - with mega performance! Also, it is practically fully loaded with things that would be options on most other brands. Its also a lot more exclusive as there are quite a few M3s in the car park at work and I didn't just want to be another one of them. (only 200ish IS Fs on HowManyLeft.com) My last few cars have been silver and black so the blue really stood out to me personally. I am not really thinking about mods at the moment but as it has been a significant investment, I will be installing a tracker next week. :)
  14. Hello All, My first post and my first Lexus. I picked up my Ultrasonic Blue 2010 F this morning. Its a very impressive car. Just thought I would say hi to all on the forums and join in when I can. I was hoping to pick your brains too, newbie question! I have done a bit of research on these and have not come across any with the same wheels. They have Lexus centre caps but I am unsure if they are OEM/Optional or aftermarket? VJ
