@65mike Mike some things in life are worth waiting for 🙄

But yes you are right it is taking longer than expected but I'm not bothered they are working on getting it right, in the main it's been about getting the paint colour right for the look I want on the wheels and callipers.

So a customer of mine let me have a magazine article picture of his cars wheel...... yes I know it's not a Lexus 🤗

So this is the look I want for mine, and yes it's a proper paint for both wheel and calipers

@ComedianCan't wait  to see the Changes to mine, the guys at Lexus Cheltenham have kindly been taking step by step photos and the old girl is occupying her own little section of the workshop while it takes place 🤗

    Hi all:driving:

Ok are you going to give all your forum friends a sneak peak off these wheels and brakes, why is it taking so long and what are you having done to it.

The RCF RT as they call it looks lovely inside suits it to a tee wheels are to big for my liking as our lovely roads would ruin them and the wrap well that's a matter off taste would prefer proper paint.:lol1:

    Hi all:driving:

Big Rat why not get the box recovered in yellow then it will match your brake callipers also get a Lexus decal and stick on it and you can use it for getting in and out off the car as you said

@65mike Mike in 45 years of being in the trades only got it badly wrong twice...... ill share them with you all..........

About ten years ago I completely refurbed a fairly large property for a friend/ landlord fairly substantial landscaping as well as the interior two bathrooms new kitchen skim plaster the whole property and redecorate. The final phase was solid oak floor lay through out the ground floor, so far so good 7 weeks without a hitch for  the site.

I was just in the process of drilling the small holes for the final door threshold bar between the hall and dining room, drill bit went straight through a central heating pipe in the concrete and water erupted under pressure like a geezer........😫

Just by sheer chance immediately to right was a large stack of the yellow muck buckets all empty which were used to catch the majority of the filthy black water.......lesson learnt don't trust detectors to find copper encased in plastic....🤓

Second one large farm house refloor timber joists replaced big job over a considerable length of time, nearing its end in one of the ensuites I overreached to get a powered tool and passed straight through the plasterboard ceiling into the utility room below landing at the feet at the clients wife.... who said completely unabashed " Cup of tea lovee" 😂😂😂

  6. Hi all.:driving:

Big Rat you cannot be any worse than some off the cowboys i have had i had the bloke who thought me was a excellent tiler and then proceeded to hammer a plate in my expensive hall carpet a bodger, then the carpenter who hung my interior doors and left screws out and the bathroom handle loose on the inside.

Anyway talking about adverts the Remington man is here to tell you how he brought the company.:taz:

  7. Hi all.:driving:

I brought a set from the bay off E and was going to fit them as i had 2 metal ones on the car when i got it.:no2:

The problem came when i could not get the 2 metal ones off had to use a pair off pliers around the rubber valve and a adjustable spanner to get them off noway was i putting the other ones on so back to the plastic dust caps.

This way i know i can get them off come rain or shine and they will not be stuck:notworthy:

    Hi all.:driving:

The navigation as you are probably aware came with the SE-L including Mark Levinson i have checked the box off discs and they are 2008-2009 version1 so are original and have not been updated since new.

I will wait and see what Lexus come back to me with and make a decision then will keep all updated.:dontgetit:

  9. Hi all.:driving:

At this present moment in time i have the add for Harrys razors and next to that homeless man buy's a Ferrari:g:

I suppose it helps to pay for all our enjoyment off this forum and no doubt brings in some cash so we don't seem to have a great deal off choice in my view.

  10. Hi all.:driving:

Thanks for the pictures John most appreciated  my navigation alas is not the same as your's:down:

Normski i have  4 dvd's for the navigation which came with the car including the uk one which is permanently in the navigation i do not have a USB port in my armrest unfortunately.

So i only get the 4 digit post code i think my car is a 2009 and a half ( june 2009 car) if it would have been a 2010 model year i might have got the later navigation.

I am waiting to hear back from Lexus multimedia team to see if updating the disc will give me full postcode we will see what they say.🙂

Have a look at the pictures i took off my navigation and you can see what is different between your's and mine.😶

  12. Hi all.:driving:

After my last post and pictures see link.

I thought i would show a couple more pictures off the IS on holiday this time.:driving:

We went down to Somerset for a few days nice run pity about the M25 as usual:crybaby:but what more can you expect i used the Lexus sat nav big mistake that was as most of you know only 4 parts off the post code so ended up about 5 miles from my destination down a dead end road and as you can image i was some what pi***d off at this had to get the mobile phone out and google maps!!!:dontgetit:

Well we got there in the end and was doing 40.0 miles per gallon on the dashboard screen but soon went down to 36.o miles per gallon.

Car performed brilliantly and was all i hopped it would be.

I have put two picture up for you to see.

Roll on September when she goes to Sherwood forest for her next holiday.:driving:

As you see in the first one she is poking out from behind the tree,

  13. Hi all:clap:

Well decided to give her a good wash and brush up pictures below the wright up.

First i used my last off Meguires car shampoo after giving her the once over with water nice bucket off soapy water then towered her down only the best towel for her mind you, next decided to give her a claying as i had half a clay bar left so thought i might as well use it up, to be honest the paint was in good condition not like the usual sand paper effect that i have had previously, last owner must have looked after her so**s law says you will run out off the lubricant to use the clay bar so used water as i understand this is ok to use.:lookaround:

Next had to use my Autoglym car shampoo to give her a wash again and rinsed with water and dried her with the towel left to dry and had a sit down and had my coffee:rolleyes:

Once dried used Autoglym super resin polish to polish her after that used the sealant which takes up to a hour before buffing off which while it was drying i used the spare time to pump up the tyres and use Autoglym rubber surface restorer stuff polish the wheels and polish the glass and top up the washer fluid:rolleyes:

When ready i buffed the car to a lovely shine looks like a tanner up a sweeps behind.

Now knackered and need a sit down before dinner.

    See what you think.
