The selling rule should always be first to come with the readies gets it! I have waited for people to view and then they did not turn up! Not even a call to say they were not coming.

It depends on the manner and attitude of the buyer to be honest. Good luck, but strike while the iron is hot! If it is a good one it will sell quickly - this applies to most models.

You're bang on @Spacewagon52 I just can't seem to get myself and my readies there quick enough!

  2. I have travelled distance for my last six cars.  It is difficult to react quickly to a newly listed motor when you're not exactly next door.  I've always expressed enthusiastic interest and the offer of a £200 deposit refundable should I not like the car when I view.  In every case the car has been held for me pending my viewing.  With £200 they know you're going to turn up.  My present RX was held for me for 4 days and the dealer had a long list of people to call if I rejected the car.  Ironically, he didn't process the deposit, the fact that I offered it was sufficient for him to judge my level of interest.
If you want something, you have to make it happen !
Massively valid point but as it was a private sale I wasn't comfortable giving a deposit. As far as I am aware there isn't a safe process for doing this?

  3. An update. Not a happy one.

I got a message from the seller yesterday saying he had sold the car to someone else [emoji24]. Gutted as I thought luck was on my side finding what appeared to be a decent example and I was really looking forward to seeing it. I told the seller if I'd have known then I would have viewed Saturday rather than Sunday as I was the first to arrange a viewing. Such a first world problem.

    The search continues.

  4. [mention=59702]Kritter[/mention] Kristian the ‘X’ Fensport car has been on and off sale once or twice in the last year or two the car was run by Adrian at Fensport as far as I can remember the only mods to it were an Apexi throttle controller and coil over suspension.
Again good luck with the Wiltshire car, feel free to pm for my mobile number if you want any more advice when your with it, I could do with a break from slabbing patios [emoji4]

Cheers Big Rat. I know we're cross threading it I did check out the fensport isf. It's still on there website after all. The service history just didn't fill me with the most confidence. The chap at the garage selling it wasn't enthusiastic and knocked 400 off without pushing to hard.

May take you up on that offer, taking cars is far better than slabbing. Even more so on a Sunday [emoji52]

@KritterKristian it’s exciting stuff don’t care what anyone says !

I had to drive 250 miles to see and buy mine longest journey time of my life !

The one your going to see the guys had her what is it 4 years that’s a good sign and a full history, if you’ve got any questions about what to look for fire away, I know you’ve been doing your home work on the threads just in case 👍

    🐀

I feel lucky in that case with only 50 miles to cover, blagged a pal to give me a lift so I can pull the trigger there and then if I need to.

I feel as ready as I can be. I've exhausted this forum for ISF knowledge, the USA owners club, PH and YouTube. Hopefully it's in good condition, correct paperwork etc. The seller appears to be a fellow petrol head, he's replaced the ISF with a Hyundai and an Aston Martin Vantage 👍

  6. Think this has been relisted on PH now https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/lexus/is

In my search for 'my' ISF I also found this one https://www.parkers.co.uk/lexus/is/f/50-v8-is-f-4d-auto/for-sale/usedcfs-818004546999808/ I rang about this one, last service was at 47,499 but on the 13/8/15 so decided it wasn't for me. Also the early service history was a mix of Lexus dealer and Fensport. Only 6 services from new .

Hi @Kritter, I have seen the car a number of times around Chippenham, never managed to speak to the owner so I cant really give you any info on the car unfortunately, my ISF is for sale at Lexus Cheltenham if you are interested.

Good luck with the search and keep us posted.

Excellent cheers @Mark G will do. The search continues...

What the cheapest an ISF has gone for? £5.5k has got to be close: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-ISF-5-0-V8-PETROL/282712567811?hash=item41d2fb7003:g:5p0AAOSwUM5Z7fy9

Think your old motor is over budget even with the best man maths in the world

  8. So after being one of those 'lurkers' for the past few weeks and reading past threads I feel I'm up to scratch on the ownership experience of an ISF and all the usual things associated with owning your first.

Anyone know about this grey example on AT https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201710250637403?advertising-location=at_cars&transmission=Automatic&postcode=ox266eq&model=IS F&page=1&make=LEXUS&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New

I know that as there only 200 or so in the UK that there's a chance one if you will know something about this one? Certainly as there are a couple of members from the south West. Wiltshire isn't officially south west in my book but worth a shot.
