The spec seems to vary a lot between models. Especially if looking at something a few years old.
I wish I had done some more research, but I'm happy with what I have. A reversing camera would be nice
so would voice control, but a lot of the gizmos you don't really need.

Link?
Although this applies specifically to Oz, it's pretty much universal. There are no doubt, lots of videos on this subject.
-
The Aussie "Auto Expert" has a Youtube video on this subject.

Bring back Chris Goffey and WIlliam Wollard lol *old age alert*
At least it waasn't a comedy show back then. 5th Gear is a little better, but not much.
If they did ever get back to reviewing cars, everything would still have to be compared to a BMW or the three pointed swastica.

I haven't watched it for many years.
It's a shame we can't have a real programme about cars, much like Top Gear used to be 20yrs ago.
I remember when the satellite boxes used to be analogue, there was a German car programme I watched occasionally.
I say "watched", as I don't speak German, but that was very much like the Top Gear of old. Interesting and informative.
Not a comedy programme.

I can only comment with regards to the IS300h. Where if the camera isn't fitted, neither is the loom to link
it to the display. Yours may well be differnt. ?
-
The IS300h is a nice car to drive. We've had ours for just coming up to 1 year. We don't use it around town very much.
Mileage is around 50mpg on the computer, plus or minus a touch. About the same as we used to get from our Civic hybrid.
-
A different type of Hybrid I know, but the 12v Battery on my Civic Hybrid failed ad 8 yrs.

Well, you appear to be correct since I have just done another quote, this time parking on the street, and it came out roughly £50 cheaper than on the driveway.
This is frustrating and irrelevant though since I refuse to park my car on the street when I have a perfectly good drive in front of my house!
I have a neighbour, who although he has loads of parking space at the front of his house, always parks his car in the road.....very strange.

Regarding the inside of the windscreen, I'd always assumed it was deposits (fumes etc) in the air.
Looking at a YouTube video, they reckon it comes from the PVC on the dashboard.
Of course, if you have leather, that cancels that idea out. 🙂
-
The figures quoted on the door need a bit of working out. They do seem to be rather over complicated.
Or perhaps it's just me 😅

Insurance prices depend on so many factors, so I would never recommend a particular insurance company to anyone.
You could have two people living next door to each other, with the same type of vehicle, and the same personal
details, who get vastly different quotes from the same company. Even the time of the month or week can make a difference.

I stand to be corrected, but I believe the TPMS is activated once the tyre pressure falls below 25% of the calibrated pressure.
So if that is 35-36psi, a pressure of 25psi means it wont reset. ( allowing for a bit of error) This is what I found when I had a slow puncture...
-
As others have said, On the IS300h the reset button is underneath the lower panel, more or less in line with the steering column, and a couple of inches back.
A mirror and torch will help in the first time of finding it. A shame they couldn't have made it a menu item, maybe they have in later models ?
-
Out of interest, I wonder if any of you have had the warning light come up recently, with the onset
of freezing temperatures ?
-
It's a shame that virtually all car reviewers, feel the need to compare every new executive saloon, to the equivalent German brands.
Personally I take little notice (if any) of what they have to say.
-
I assume you mean petrol, as you are in the UK ?
It could be a blocked vent pipe maybe,

I have a 2014 IS300H Executive which does not have the automatic dipping headlights. I know these are activated by a dashboard button (which isn't installed on mine) so I wondered whether it is possible to have the button installed and auto headlights activated?
We have the 2015 model, and it lacks a lot of features which cannot be retro fitted. Rear camera, voice recognition to name but two.
Maybe we should have done more research before buying, but we are generally happy with the car. Our 2014 Ford BMax has more
features than our Lexus.

The previous owner details no longer appear on the V5 as I found out when I received mine in June
The previous owner's name and address is on the V5 of our Lexus, bought last year. Maybe there is a tick box ?
In recent years, I always include all invoices when I pass a car on. When I traded in our Honda for the Lexus,
the dealer was adamant that I supplied all of the Honda's service documents. Luckilly I'd kept them all, a habit of
being self employed for most of my working life.
A friend bought a Lexus a couple of years ago, the dealer saying he would pass the service history on. This didn't
happen despite numerous requests, so he made them take the car back.

Such a shame indeed, but that's why we pay for insurance. A lot will of course depend on your financial situation, but as you will have comprehensive insurance,
I'd just go with the flow, and accept their offer. Unless you can get a worthwhile quote for repairs.

I noticed the noise on my IS300h. I changed to "low noise" tyres, but it didn't make a great deal of difference.
Just to add, I may notice it more as I have to wear hearing aids. Which tend to amplify some frequencies more than others.

I'm quite heavily into Photography, but my favourite subject is wildlife.
I know it's very popular, but I have a strong aversion to the use of ND filters on moving water.
It's done too much, and looks cheesy.

So I take it, that a service plan is just that, service costs and MOT's (?) are covered. I assume you pay parts and labour costs for any repairs or
replacement parts not covered while it's being serviced.? Or does that depend on the plan ?
Fuel low light - game of nerves :-)

I used to let the tank in my Accord get fairly low, as we didn't use it a great deal. Probably because of this it developed an annoying whine.
So had to source a replacement from a breakers.
