I can get on board with the tall guy problem in an IS250, hence why I put IS300h manual seats in as they go much lower so you don’t have to compensate by going too far back and have much better back support. The only downfall is that without messing with the connectors you’ll lose heat.

This looks brilliant, I'm not a fan of black wheels at all, but I said before that I can get on board with it on muscle cars, they just carry that angry stance where it doesn't make the wheels look tacky when they're black and I see it works on the RC-F too, but to be fair, it is technically a muscle car isn't it! That’s a completely different story if one buys it through business.. now the thing is, if it wasn’t for Bik how many evs would we see on the roads then? I don’t think people get them because they necessarily really want one but it’s more so the fact that it makes sense for certain fortunate individuals. I’d be the same, why pay more for a C class diesel merc when I can have a cheaper ev.

If you have Android, download the torque app, if you're on iOS, I find "Car Scanner" (Blue icon) to be good. You can clear the codes, but if it's something like that it'll come back on. I had the same on my car when my Lambda sensor died, same lights on the dash, but luckily it wasn't misfiring or idling funny. Depends on which sensor it is, otherwise you can have symptoms like those..

It's not gonna be easy/possible to stop this now anyway.. the amount of people that have huge money invested in this will keep pushing for it otherwise someone will lose their shares... It just shows that nobody with real power actually gives a crap about the planet, it's just a money making scheme for the battery industry and everyone else involved. F*ck me, they can't even make phone batteries last 1-2 weeks on 1 charge, how can they think they can make cars with a decent range 🤣 I think it's too soon for this, global push to ban ICE cars by 2035 in a lot of the countries is silly and not feasible. All it's gonna do is push the used ICE car market up until EVs will be in a price range of regular cars with matching range in one charge.

Of course they're not aware, if you use your brain then you know they're not green at all. It's really not worth paying premium for inconvenient silence that looks green.. Sure, you're not polluting your local village or town, but the big factories that make them are even dirtier so on a global scale, it causes more pollution than regular vehicles.. not to mention the global c02 produced by cars only makes up about 4% so targeting motorists, just because it's easy, isn't gonna do f*ck all in the long run. It's factories, industrial & commercial sector that produces the rest. Cars really aren't the big issue here.

The experts have said it, but it's the government is pushing for it it's like they blindly ignore the facts to please the tree huggers or are just stupid. Manufacturers know this well, a few manufacturers have openly spoken about disagreeing with the EV push, but if the government is forcing them to make them, the manufacturers then need to spend money on marketing to sell those vehicles to stay afloat... it's a viscous cycle, and unless the government opens their eyes, this will not stop. Depending on the country and where its electricity comes from, you have to drive your EV between 40,000-93,000 miles before it's on par with a regular ICE vehicle in terms of Co2 produced. There was a study from Norway that suggested something like 6,000 miles but their electricity is predominately created by water, but in a lot of countries it's made from coal. It might get better eventually with better battery technology, but right now it's a sh*tshow

Without the OBD scan we’re guessing. You need to plug it in. It could be an oxygen sensor and it most likely is if you say your car is now misfiring? I never had an issue with a cold start in winter and idling. It’s not due to age of the car

Must be something chronic, my friend's and my dad's does the same thing. They are both automatics, my IS250s never did this but I only had manuals.

It is part of the reason, you also have to consider clutch job into the purchase of a used car, so it essentially makes it less desirable. BMWs are a bit more sporty looking I’d say. Not to mention, once you start looking for cars over 2.5L, you’ll start to notice that manuals are rarer. but yeah, the market is really funny with IS250 and other used pre-hybrid Lexuses in general.. they’re not the cars you’d see everyday so demand is low, people just forget they exist. I say “press twice” what I actually mean is, instead of pressing it, hold it down for 5-10s while stationary and see what happens😉 it’ll let you skid once and only a little bit when you just press it

Update: I turned the TC "off" with the button on the dash this morning on the way to work, roads were a bit frosty so it was very easy to find out what it'll do. It let me do a little bit of a spin in a straight line, but once you try go in an angle as if to initiate drift, or just pulling out of a corner into a power slide, the VSC kicks in and stops it - car starts braking on its own. As I suspected, it turns out 2005-2006 models don't have the "two step" Traction Control that can be turned off with the button on the dash. You can only press it once, it will let you do some wheel spin, but vehicle stability control etc is still enabled = NO GOOD. When I got to work, I tried the pedal dance which is meant to turn everything off. The TC light came on, which is good, but no VSC light like it would on my 2008 IS250. It's yet to be tested, but at least I know the pedal dance does something. To do the pedal dance you need to do this: Start the car while holding the hand brake and regular brake - Hit brake pedal twice while holding hand brake..hold the brake pedal on the second hit - Pump the hand brake twice while holding the brake pedal - Hold it on the second hit and then push the brake pedal twice again

By saying "no clue if any 220d came with a diff" I meant LSD... obviously there's diff, but most likely Open. If you get a whole pumpkin from either 86 or is250, it will already be there and you don't have to do anything, it's just the ring and pinion. No reason not to get LSD. Especially if you're chasing power, it'll help you put it down better as both wheels will be driven. I'm not clued up on the diesel, so no clue if any 220d came with a diff, or if the IS250 / GT86 diff is compatible.. Don't see why not, but you will need a different final drive, it will help with acceleration. Manual IS250 is 3.9 ratio, GT86 is 4.1. Auto IS250 is 3.7 IIRC. No clue about 220d but from what I heard people dont say very good things about the gearing on that car. - the higher the ratio, the faster the acceleration but you'll be doing a bit more revs at same speed.

It will be off to an extent when you just press the button. I haven't had a chance to do anything to try how much it will let you do as the clutch is almost dead (not slipping yet, but it's not far from it). I can only compare this to the GT86 and my old IS250 as the TC worked exactly the same on both cars. When you press the traction control button, it lights up on the instrument cluster. - That's fine. However, the GT86 and I believe the previous IS250 would turn the TC back on automatically if you went over 30mph. And in this " one press mode", it would also only let you do one slide until it's turned on again - automatically. So to prevent this, I would have to stop the car, hold down the TC button for 5-10s until additional lights came on the dash that disabled VSC and TC fully. This is not the case in this 2006 (made in late 2005) car.. you can only press it once and it makes no difference if you hold it down for 2mins, it won't do anything else. Like I said, I'm going to have to go somewhere on a bit of grass so I can try to do donuts or something without putting strain on the clutch. If it lets me do everything, it's fine. If not, I will have to start doing the pedal dance when I want to drift it. Yeah, manual dude! Only paid £1500 for it on Saturday last week. it was on something like 71,996 miles before I drove 150 miles home. Runs smooth, it's got a K&N intake, some weird aftermarket exhaust which I'm getting replaced by an exhaust shop tomorrow - I'm having Jap style 6" mufflers with 5" tips on - should look very similar to the HKS exhaust I had on my old one. The interior was bad in this, cream cloth, but I already swapped everything to black leather - rear seats, door cards, scuff plates, glovebox, lower dash under the steering wheel, arm rest and 2015 IS300h front leather seats. It looks a lot better now. Last thing I need to do is dye the carpet black. I have some black fabric dye left from when I was dying the headliner in my previous one. Works a treat.

Got a better chance of people stop buying those cars out of principle than the gov stepping in. At the end of the day, they’re not forcing anyone to pay the subscriptions
