  1. Before Easter Existing battery seems good for one fire up. Starting it up just to take it in out of garage and messing with aerial motor appears too much for a third fire up.
  2. Managed to get one £94 delivered. Yuasa YBX5096 Halfords have HSB5096....the previous iteration.
  3. I shall get a silver Yuasa from Halfords and attempt to use my 15% discount card that has been sitting idle in my wallet for years.
  4. Needed jump starting again. We did run the antenna motor a fair few times in our efforts to insert new mast, but having driven 40 miles on Wednesday maybe the 12v battery is getting old. it is approx 6 years old now. Is a Yuasa. What is the gold standard battery for this car? https://www.mlperformance.co.uk/products/genuine-lexus-28800-yzzzh-sc430-starter-battery ??? Or choice of... https://www.tayna.co.uk/car-batteries/f/toyota-oem/28800-yzzae/ There is a lot going on as soon as you open door and put key in ignition, electric wise.
  5. Lexus red flagged two of my shocks. One was indeed stuffed, so not just fishing for work.
  6. Throttle controller plumbed in. Have to say I am not overly impressed. Economy mode does slow things down a bit but hooligan mode with TCS turned off did not light up the tyres. But at least it does something and has a bypass mode and only cost £22.
  7. All good and working. Just refitting carpets in between showers.
  8. All good again. Just have to get rid of insulation tape residue. Colour looks ok from 10 feet. When I take it to paint shop will get it matched.
  9. Coming up north on Weds in the Lexus to enjoy the rain.
  10. Which throttle controller do you have. Thoughts? Going to connect mine up tomorrow.
  11. Will see how this compares in daylight. Or its back to black.
  12. Try here. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/lexus-europe/is250c/GSE20R/3947/chassis/4804
  13. Final part arrived. Just have to spray it.
  14. Maybe they get extra warm in use, combined with salty road vapour and a constant flow of air. Perfect rusty combo.
  15. I will give my brackets the full works then.
  16. Every radiator bracket seems to need treatment!
  17. Hope you remembered emergency fuel cap release? Of course you did!
  18. Have to reinstall the boot this weekend.
  19. Just upped the mileage allowance on the classic insurance policy from 5000 to 7500. Still comes in under £400 for the year. I will drive this thing!
  20. Having had all my shocks done I would say this is a much more pressing consideration than a cam belt replace. Looking at my old ones one was shot to hell. A car with replaced shocks AND a new exhaust should be pounced upon!
  21. And just waiting for a flexible child to hook up the other end of this.
  22. Excellent result. Drove 40 miles with new bits on. Less rattle, tighter drive and brakes feel much better. I ended up paying £1060 all in. Lexus quote £2700. This mpg is as high as is achievable over a 40 mile cross country run.
  23. Shocks and discs/pads fitted at the garage today. Collecting the car tomorrow. Throttle controller due tomorrow plus the missing aerial cover and nut. All coming together for departure to Europe in two weeks. Just have to replace all the boot interior now.
  24. Amayama were same price as Lexus for my pads. Much, much cheaper for shocks. Pot luck as to which items are cheaper.
