Hello Martin from Devon. Yours is an interesting post to read… Between 1999 and 2002. I also had two LS400’s. And an SC430 in 2002. You might remember that the M5 had two concrete sections between Exeter and Bristol. I used the M5 frequently. And of ALL the cars that I have driven, or been a passenger in. The two LS400’s were the most comfortable cars to drive… Especially on the concrete sections. And all other concrete roads that I drove on, at the time… In fact, you didn’t know when you were on the concrete sections…! Of all the 100 cars+ + that you have had in your fifty years of motoring. How many were fully electric…?

I have spoken to my Lexus dealer to enquire about any change to my proposed delivery date… I was advised… Lexus Edinburgh have only ever been dealing with fully refundable £500 deposits for any factory order vehicles. The £500 secures the build slot and order number and then the next major update (assuming there has been no further change or communication to us) will be when the car goes in to build. As for the estimated ETA's of the RZ, we are still confident that the first customer orders (including yours) will arrive summer 2023. My order no is LH 4754 Good news that I should see my RZ in the summer of 2023. They were very good to deal with when I bought my new LC500 Convertible from them…

Have you been given a build number...? My Lexus dealer asked for the colours etc. Which I gave them and they said my order was now placed with Lexus UK... But I have no build number or asked to pay any more deposit...

Delivery is mid 2024...? Is this because of all the orders they have taken...? I am hoping to get mine in the Summer of 2023... This is the latest I have from my dealer in Edinburgh... To confirm form the Supply bulletin provided by Lexus August 26th ''– opened for ordering on Monday 8th August. However, due to ongoing global supply chain disruption, we are anticipating delays to the Start of Production for the All New RZ 450e. Based on the latest information we are now expecting production to commence during Q1 2023, with customer deliveries commencing from early Summer 2023.

I have bought a Honda from Fish Brothers Swindon. I asked the guy I was dealing with to enquire of their Lexus Dealership about the RZ… He was advised that any new orders they received are likely to be 2024 deliveries as they have already taken orders for all of their 2023 allocations. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7NyT471obM

I am not going to make an offer Bob. It’s too expensive… This one looks better for an offer…? They are prepared to get a new Cambelt and Waterpump fitted by a Lexus Dealer for £200…! Is that what a new Cambelt and Waterpump costs…? You would think the garage that verbally stated it has been done… Would have some form of record of doing it…! A question to ask... In readiness to buy my 2nd SC430… From Wikipedia… In 2005 for the 2006 model year, the SC 430 was updated, with changes that included redesigned alloy wheels and the introduction of Bluetooth capability. Am I correct in thinking that SC430’s from 2006. You have the ability to connect and use your mobile phone…? Your post reads like your Essex Lexus Dealer is very good… Like the Lexus dealer I am now using that’s at the other end of the country to me…! I recently took delivery of my local RR Dealer’s demo Evoque P300e. It’s good and ideal for me… I am looking forward to my RZ arriving. I won’t be arranging a test drive… It will be a great car…! I will be buying my 2nd SC430 to put in my side garage when it’s been cleared out by my builders… The Forum’s SC430 owners seem a good bunch…! They will no doubt help me purchase the right one…!

Bob, its a question for someone to ask that has ordered one from Exeter...? I cancelled my order with them. Because there is something not right with the Lexus Exeter dealer...? You can read above what my new Lexus dealer has said to me... I hope your Essex Lexus dealer isn't tarred with the same brush as Exeter...!

I have finally just had a call from Lexus Exeter to ask for my debit card number to refund the £500. During the phone call I was advised if I didn't cancel my order... The car should arrive in March...!!!!!!!! So John, your car should arrive in March...?

Thanks for your post Neil. When my builders finish using my side garage. And I am ready to buy my 2nd SC430. I will do a post for Forum members with SC430's to help me with buying one... I am an ex-boy from the black stuff and not very good at working on cars...! If the car I buy doesn't have parking sensors. I have a friend that can help me. I will use the Forum for the additional help...! I read on the Forum if the car I buy has run-flats they will need to be changed...! I remember my 2001 SC430 had a horrible feeling driving it compared to my LS400...! It must have been because it had run-flats fitted...

Hello John, I have cancelled my order with Exeter. I have spoken to the Lexus dealer I bought my LC500 Convertible from… Speaking to one of their sales guys has been so different…! I have learnt that RZ’s with One Motion steering won’t be available until early 2024. I received the attached Price List that’s dated August 2022. All be it they are at the other end of the country… I will be paying the £500 to this dealer. My thoughts, including prices for similar used electric cars… The BMW iX3 etc. I think the new RZ will no doubt be very good value for the money, and a great car… And it will be another great Lexus…! John, I had a message left today to ring Cameron from the same dealer we have both placed our orders for our new RZ’s. Cameron’s message was he needs to know the colour and interior colour. So my order could be fully processed to Lexus. I tried ringing him back and spoke to one of his colleagues. I asked did I need to provide my colours etc. If the car wont be delivered until whenever next year. And I asked again, when might it be delivered, and didn’t get an answer. You seem to be getting more info from the Exeter dealer... Can I ask have you provided your colours etc…? I might be better to cancel my order with Exeter and place it with the Lexus dealer that supplied my new LC500 Convertible...!

Tom, firstly I hope you haven’t got rubbish piled up where you live… All be it I am in Cornwall. I have bought several cars from Edinburgh… Without mentioning their name… 3 Mercs, 5 BMW’s and my LC 500 Convertible came down from Edinburgh… I think the best car I have ever had was my LS400 in 2001. When driving on roads with a concrete surface. You didn’t know you were on concrete…! Unfortunately my wife cant come out with me in any car I have. I have a VW Caddy WAV for taking her out. I currently have an Evoque P300e. I would have the plug in Lexus but its bigger than I need. An RZ and a SC430 will be good…!

Thanks Ken. Does your 2007 SC 430 have parking sensors...? It will be a tight fit in the garage I will be putting it in... Sometimes I have suspended a tennis ball to touch the windscreen so I knew when to stop...!

Has anybody a .pfd Brochure for the latest SC 430…? When my builders empty my side garage. Ed, has your family member not thought of a hybrid ? Whilst waiting for my RZ. I have bought my local dealer’s Demo Range Rover Evoque P300e. I had an Evoque in 2012. It’s a great car… I have a home charger and will probably not have to fill it with petrol very often… If your family member does frequent long trips perhaps a Hybrid isn’t what he wants… I see on the net that there are 76 P300e's for sale. Which surprised me…!
