  1. An interesting post Paul. Reminds me of an incident I experienced nearly twenty years ago. I was in Exeter with my business partner looking at some commercial property that was for sale. After looking at the property we decided to call into the Ferrari dealer to look at what used Ferrari’s they had for sale. We both had in interest in buying a used Ferrari. When we walked into their showroom there were two sales guys sat at their desks tapping away on their computer keyboards. We were both wearing jeans and I had an Indian Queens Half Marathon tee shirt on. We both had trainers on… I parked my Overfinch Range Rover with my plate KSW1 in the parking area adjacent to their showroom. After about five minutes of walking around on our own. I quietly said to my business partner… “Mike, I am going to count to twenty, and if neither of these two effing guys come over to speak to us. We are out of here…!” I counted slowly to twenty and we both then left… I have never had any interest in owning a Ferrari since then… I have had several different makes of similar cars… As you say Paul. It doesn’t matter which brand of car. It’s the customer experience that matters…! I will never forget my visit to the Ferrari dealership…
  2. If I had the need for a bigger BMW. I would buy an iX3… This review would convince me to buy one… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAXRAQLLz6g Cheers Kevin
  3. John, All be it. I am at the other end of the country. I have dealt with a car dealer in Edinburgh for several years. Buying three MB’s, five BMW’s and a Lexus LC500 Convertible... I change my cars often. Dealing with a dealer more than 500 miles away. Hasn’t been a problem… I agree that communication from Lexus about the RZ450 is very poor… As you say for a £72k car. They should be in very regular contact…! Irrespective of the delays in cars being manufactured and delivered… I have ordered a new BMW iX1 from my local BMW dealer. I am advised it should arrive in May 2023. When I email or ring them. I get a quick reply… I will probably ask for my RZ deposit back in the New Year… I was thinking about buying a UX300e but have decided to buy a new Renault Megane E-Tech Launch Edition which I will get in early January… I have bought a new VW Caddy 5 WAV for my wife, which is currently being converted. Dealing with this company has been brilliant compared to Lexus…!
  4. Sorry Colin. One last question... Do you know how many volts need to be in the 12v aux battery to put the UX300e into Ready mode...? Thank you
  5. An interesting post Colin. I will soon be buying a UX300e. Should I include in the deal, that a brand new, good quality 12v battery is fitted... Or have one fitted when I have bought a UX300e...? I should then be ok for a few months, or longer...? If I power up the UX300e for half an hour each week I don’t drive it. Will the 12v aux battery stay well charged…? Thank you
  6. Thanks for your post Colin. I will google solar trickle chargers...! I do live in sunny Cornwall. If I buy a UX300e. Should I include in the deal that a brand new good quality 12v battery is fitted...Or fit one when I have bought one...? I should then be ok for a few months, or longer...?
  7. Help please…! I have bought one of these… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUHkFpPHISI I need it for my wife’s Caddy WAV. I am still thinking of buying a UX300e. I don’t drive sometimes for a couple of weeks. Will this noco GB20 Jumpstarter be ok to use, if the 12v aux battery on the UX300e won’t put the UX into Ready mode…? Or will the 12v aux battery need to be trickle charged…? Thanks in anticipation of knowing it will be ok…
  8. +100=185 mile...!!! Be good when Bjorn Nyland gets his hands on one...! His YouTube's are good...!
  9. Colin, I communicated with the Lexus Dealer I bought my LC500 Convertible from. They also have my order for an RZ. I thought you would be interested in our communication… My email… Can you and your service manager please read these Topics… https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/136017-ux300e-b-mode%E2%80%A6/ https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/131491-lexus-link-app-with-ux300e-showing-wrong-charging-info/ I am at sixes and sevens regarding buying a UX300e… ALL the other electric cars that I have had. I never had problems with their 12v aux batteries… Have you, or any of your colleagues, ever had to trickle charge the 12v Aux battery on a UX300e…? Please give me an honest answer… Regards Kevin Their reply… As for the 12V battery, I honestly have not heard of any real issues regarding these in the UX300e or any of our cars for that matter. But I do also think it will come down to usage. If you don’t use the car most days then, like any car, you run the risk of letting the battery go flat. If your intentions are to run the car most days, then I don’t see it being any issue at all. I hope this honesty helps you in your decision-making process. Regards
  10. Thanks for your post Rayaan. I must admit I am at sixes and sevens...! I am currently pursuing the Uxe with the Takumi Pack at Lexus Edinburgh. Their's is top money, so they will need to do something a lot better...! I will ask the guy I know there some serious questions regarding charging the 12v aux battery... I see they have several UXe's currently for sale... They have my order for an RZ and I also bought my LC500 Convertible from them... So, I should get honest answers to my questions...
  11. Hello Chris, You mention the 2023 UXe… Your post reads like your retiring next year…? Bearing in mind I only drive a little because of my injuries from an accident in 2011, flying my helicopter. I think I would be wise to buy a different EV… Colin Barber’s recent post on Lexus Link App with UX300e showing wrong charging info, also influences my current thoughts… Looking at autotrader. I will probably buy a Mercedes EQA or a BMW iX3… The Speak EV Forum has some interesting and good posts on the BMW iX3…!
  12. Hello Chris, thanks for your further post. You say your not using the Lexus Link App…? And you need to trickle charge the 12v aux battery if you don’t drive your UX for a few days…? The Taycan 4S was great… In my retirement I am building a new house adjacent to where I live. When it is completed, and sold. I am thinking of buying a Taycan 4 Cross Turismo…
  13. Hello Chris, thanks for your post. Lexus Plymouth are also owned by Snows, but they only now do service and parts. I bought my two LS 400’s from Lexus Plymouth, and a SC430, more than 20 years ago….! I became a member of the Lexus Forum to help me decide between an LC500 and an LC500h. My first post was in the Topic LC500 or LC500h on Sept 26th 2020. On the LEXUS LC500 Coupe Club Section… There is a photo of your car in your garage…! I read that you work in IT Security… My background is part owning a couple of Quarries and Asphalt Mixing Plants, and Waste Disposal. My partners and I sold the Quarry Products Companies to Tarmac. And the Waste Disposal Company to Viridor in 2002. I then did Property Development with my son, and retired a couple of years ago… You might have read my recent posts in the Topic, Lexus Link App with UX300e showing wrong charging info… Having read the several old posts. I did have concerns about having to charge the 12-volt Aux Battery… Messaging with Rayaan has sorted my concerns. Thanks Rayaan… The UX300e with the Takumi Pack at Exeter is back on my shopping list…! They have had it a long time… A good deal is to be had…! Yes, looking forward to the RZ… I have had a Taycan 4S… I think the RZ will be better…!
  14. Thanks Colin. I am thinking of buying a UX300e from a Lexus Dealer, so I can check it has the update... Needs to be driven enough to recharge it... I often don't use my cars for a couple of weeks... Another reason I like electric cars... Will the 12 volt battery need charging if it's not driven for a few weeks...? I also drive only a few miles when I go out because of my helicopter accident... I have a VW Caddy WAV for taking my wife out... who uses a wheelchair... I am having second thoughts about buying a UX300e... If the 12 volt aux battery might need charging at times... I will unfortunately have to buy a different electric vehicle... Reading your post... I don't think its a suitable vehicle for me...???
  15. Having read these posts about problems with the 12 volt battery on some member's UX300e's. Do any members with UX300e's still get problems at times, with their 12 volt battery needing charging... I have had several electric cars and have never had any problems with their 12 volt batteries... Or using the Apps for the cars... Apart from the Honda e...! Can you use the Lexus Link for the UX300e without it causing problems...?
  16. Paul. If there was a 'not very exclusive exLR owners club' There might be tens of thousands of members...
  17. Hello Chris, thanks for your post. How long have you owned your UX300e…? I was asking the question about B mode because I liked the one pedal driving in some of my electric cars… Colin has answered my question… Thanks Colin. The UX300e with the Takumi Pack, will be my next car. I am endeavouring to buy the one at Exeter… Of all the cars that I have owned the Lexus’s were no doubt the best for many reasons… I recently bought an Evoque P300e. I bought it thinking with the limited driving I do. It could have been driven mostly in Electric mode… I couldn’t get the vehicle to drive either in EV or Hybrid mode… I joined the Evoque P300e Facebook Group and many others were having the same problem… So I got them to buy it back because it wasn’t fit for its purpose… I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER JLR VEHICLE AGAIN…! They sell every vehicle that comes off their production lines… But don’t give a toss about the problems that many of the owners have. I had two LS400’s more than twenty years ago, and they were the most comfortable cars that I have ever driven… I recently had a couple of LC500’s, and they were also great cars to own… I have a Zappi home charger… I will post on the Forum when I have bought a UX300e with a Takumi Pack… I also like HUD and 360 degree cameras in cars, and adaptive cruise control… I have an RZ on order... THAT WILL NO DOUBT BE ANOTHER GREAT LEXUS...
  18. Thanks Nick. On other all electric cars that I have owned. Position B actually puts charge back into the batteries...
  19. I see that my post has had 119 views... Can someone with a UX300e please answer my question, thanks...
  20. I see there are a few 2021 UX300e’s with the Takumi pack for sale, at a good price… I am unable to get to any for a test drive… When the transmission is in B mode, is the speed of deceleration, very much…? Are they like some EV’s that are advertised to have “one pedal driving…?”
  21. The BMW i8 is a good car, but difficult to get in and out of... No Lexus at the moment. I have a Lexus RZ 450e Takumi on order. I have had several electric cars. I think the Lexus RZ will be another great Lexus. MY23 NG RZ Colours and interior[1].pdf
