  1. Hi all, I am thinking of selling my Lexus LS460 however I do not know what would be a fair price to ask for it. Having seen prices on several car sales forecourts and online and with me selling privately etc so wanted to see what you thought. The car is a 2007 vehicle with 84,000 miles from new. Drives like a new car (just driven 400 miles in a day without any issues and achieved 28 mpg!) has all the usual bells and whistles. I had new discs and pads about 5,000 miles ago, wheels just refurbished, new Michalin tyres at £750 the set, full history, 5 owners, radiator replaced, new mats, an inch thick file of history documents. Bodywork looks great, I am sure the front bumper has been sprayed in the past. I bought this from a friend so knew the car and me having already had two LS430's and a LS400 and travelled over 250,000 combined miles in these cars I wanted to look after this as a keeper but I now need an estate car. I would love it to go to an enthusiast so if anyone does see this and is interested please contact me. Here are some photos taken this morning Thanks for taking a look any and for any input.
  2. Hi over the last 15 years I have been lucky to own an LS400, 430 x2 and a460 and combined have covered 170k miles in them mostly on business. My current 460 I bought at the end of last year and in total has 82k on it. I have had the radiator changed, wheels refurbed , tyres changed to Michelin Pilot 4 which are great and just had an EDT engine clean done which has made the car feel much newer. I will get the bumpers painted in the new year. I have always garaged the cars and believe in preventative servicing etc but would say that having owned literally over 100 cars these are a great choice. My favourite is the 460 and once you own one of these three you don’t want to be without one. On my motorway trips I get around 31mpg sometimes more when being sensible and always use super unleaded. I am based in Hampshire and happy to show you mine if that would help in your decision.
  3. Hi I have a 2004 RX300 and have just had a secondhand front passenger side air strut fitted and whilst the suspension is pumped up and drives fine I now do not have lights on my ride height adjustment button and can't seem to adjust up or down? I wanted to first check a fuse, if there is one for this, and have opened the box under the bonnet and have seen the main 60amp fuse for the suspension but can't see where there would be one for the height adjustment. Can anyone help please? does it have a separate fuse and if so where is it? Thank you in advance. PJ
  4. Good point about prices going up, I am also considering a change to a Bentley Arnage R however it will be more expensive to run with such things as the co efficient being 0.35 as opposed to the ls 600 being 0.26! Mpg, noise etc but £20k will by a very nice low mileage example but probably no where near as reliable as the Lexus. Both cars feel very solid and ooze driving confidence if I can find a good low mileage ls600 I think that would suit my yearly mileage of usually 40,000 plus miles, I am spoiled in having my 460 with only 78k on the clock as an upgrade from my LS430. I look forward to seeing what you go for and wish you well in your search.
  5. I know it’s a 460 but quite rare. I too have been tempted to upgrade from my 460 but think I’ll keep it and try to buy a new 460 or 600 from 2012 onwards but really as you say not a lot of choice out there at present
  6. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202103180290450?advertising-location=at_cars&postcode=so507ns&model=LS 460&sort=relevance&page=1&radius=1501&make=LEXUS&year-to=2021&include-delivery-option=on this one also looks very nice
  7. Yes it was a relief as I saw the US you tuber with $15,000 work list and started to choke wondering what I had bought into but all is good now Thanks
  8. Yes I had it and had to buy genuine item, that was a few years ago so there may be other options out there now
  9. So today the radiator was fitted abs all is good. The radiator and fluid was just under £300 and the fitting was £159 so £41 less than I thought so very grateful to my friendly garage.
  10. Thanks all good food for thought. I do add one in about five tanks as being high octane and car runs really well so as she’s getting older I am really keen on preventative measures.
  11. I have had all my cars engines in the last 7 or so years cleaned internally (8 or so) and most have shown improvement, my rx300 whilst it drive more smoothly it has not made as much difference as on my LS 400 and 430. My LS 460 is booked in to have the radiator replaced in a couple of weeks so thought I would ask if anyone had experienced this on their 460 and would recommend. My car has covered 77500 miles snd is a 2007 model.
  12. Radiator and fluid ordered from local Hedge End Lexus dealer around £325 in total inc vat. I have a friendly garage where the proprietor is ex Bentley trained and worked on my Lexus (400 and 430) and car booked in within next two weeks so will report back on final total bill but expect around £500.
  13. Thanks for your message it’s a relief so will get changed asap
  14. I took off the plastic engine cover to have a look for any obvious leak and found this leak just by the top up tank. I take it that whilst I need to change the radiator this is not a leak that will effect the gearbox issue? Thanks
  15. Am I best to buy a radiator from Lexus or can anyone recommend another good supplier thanks
  16. Yes I did think this and maybe the suspension may need doing so I’ll book it in and update once they find the problem. Thanks
  17. Hi no change in coolant colour and no change in gear changes, I will book it in for a check on the hoses etc. The car has done 77,500 miles and as a 2007 car is 14 years old so it maybe time to change the radiator.
  18. I have noted that over the last 3000 miles I have used a litre of coolant, not seeing any obvious leaks. Could this be the dreaded radiator/gearbox issue starting? Anyone any advise for me and any idea of what I should expect as a bill? I have had this issue on my ls430 and it was around £500 to fix. Thanks
  19. Welcome to the club. Nice car, looking forward to seeing your handy work
  20. Hi Phil, yes I thought the price was fair however the prices seem all over the place model dependant and as a seasoned retailer I find that difficult to see why they are great with their face to face customer experience yet pricing is a challenge left for the consumer to work out? As to the driving experience, I had been a lover of Mercedes (still have one now) and had the use of a Rolls Royce for company use yet when I bought my LS400 and drove from Lexus in Edinburgh back home to Hampshire in one long stretch I was converted. The noise level was amazingly low, the ride, seats etc were just next level. What I love about these cars is that they are understated and not many seen day to day. We did over 100K in that car and I lost about £1500 in depreciation and spent around the same on servicing and repairs whilst achieving around 28mpg overall average mileage. The LS 430 really was a great step up for Lexus and if I could have found a newer car with low mileage and having bought and driven the LS 460 now I probably would have stayed with the 430. In saying this I do still want to upgrade my tyres on the 460 to reduce the road noise and carry out some minor refurbishments and I hope it will be a fantastic car. I haven't told the wife but have just spoken with my local Lexus to keep an eye open for a newer LS600. Overall I would say if budget is limited then drive the best 400 you can find as they seem nearly bullet proof, if you are happy to spend a bit more then try the 430 and 460 back to back and decide what works for you as they are very similar. I would like to have the best possible experience with the LS and am hoping that the 600 may be the choice for me but it does seem a large jump up in price for a 2014 and newer model so we will see. I have been fortunate to own some very interesting cars over the years and am convinced for me doing the miles I do (50 to 60K a year) the LS provides the ride quality, safety and running costs I feel comfortable with and happy to recommend to anyone. I hope that is not too much of a ramble and useful to you, happy to answer any specific questions you may have.
  21. Hi I have spoken with the Lexus parts direct team today who were very helpful and after quite a bit of delving found the ones I need, part number PZ49C-F3357-BX and these are priced at £77.62 after our discount. I have ordered these along with a few other goodies so will see what arrives. I am sure I will also buy another set in an alternative colour with the guys on ebay as I do fancy as set of grey and also black.
  22. Just had this reply from the seller Dear beachmurph52 Thank you very much for your patience. I have finally got to the boot of this after some very deep searching . The part number originally fitted was PZ452-F1355-BX which actually supersedes to PZ49C-F135B-BX - £51.99 incl.VAT Textile Acumat. The annoying news which i can only apologies is they are currently out of stock to the end of March. Could you confirm what you would like to do ? then i can start to action a return and a refund for you . Kind Regards Lexus Official Store Team I am planning to wait and order when the correct ones come in, I hope this information is useful to our 460 owners. Best regards Paul
  23. Hi All, I have tried to search this site but without luck for the part number for a set of 4 interior mats for my 2007 LS460SE-L and wondered if anyone can help please? I have ordered twice now from the Lexus official store on ebay, as they seem to be the only ones with the mats for my year of car available, I have supplied my VIN and reg number but still get sets with the long wheel base rear mats in them. Is my car wrongly marked as being a long wheel base when it's not or what? if anyone has a part number for the correct ones that would be great. I have attached images of the mats and also the original mats part number (or what I think this is?) plus the ones that have been supplied. I am messaging the seller who say they will get back to me but as yet this has not been resolved, I must say that so far in my dealings they have been good and there were no issues with my refund for the first set purchased.. Thanks PS I really enjoy reading the posts on here as it rekindles my memories of early LS ownership of having the LS 400 and LS430, great cars, great memories Thanks
  24. Just seen this thread and would add that when I went to Lexus they wanted about £160 for the sensor and eventually I bought one from china for a couple of pounds and it fitted and performed well.
