  1. Just ordered one. What's the power consumption on these, so I know which stepdown to buy from Screwfix?
  2. Christmas time I hit a pothole in the Mk1, this thing was THREE FEET end-to-end! Blew out the front wheel, buckling the alloy inside and out, also buckled the back wheel. Already needed one new tyre so ended up buying a complete set of four. Asked Newport council to shell out for the two THEY were responsible for, they claimed that they'd been notified about it a few days before, yet because they hadn't had a chance to fill it in it wasn't their fault. Thieves!
  3. I thought it had already been decided...?
  4. Is that Inch High Private Eye I see alongside the tape? Good luck with the claim - which council is it?
  5. Came across the Wayback Machine a few years ago. Fantastic site, I actually USE it from time to time, rather than just browsing. If you want to find out what Lexus said about your car when it was made rather than now, that's the place to look. Been there, done that, got the list price for my GS :P
  6. Er, you know they count for three years and stay on for four, don't you?
  7. On my second GS. Bought the first one (N-reg) at auction, obviously hadn't been looked after though. Seemed to be one thing after another (ball joints, brake calipers, brake servo, exhaust joints, crankshaft oil seal, air con...) so decided to blow my savings on a newer one (52-reg, the one over there on the left). Much happier now. The old GS went to a mate of mine who's now a member of the LOC forums. Looks nice now he's fixed the exhaust and lowered it, alongside his Jag, Mitsubishi GTO, BMW 735 Hartge, BMW 520 and a couple of others besides - it's hard to keep up with him and those damned auctions! AFAIK I've got the only GS in town, seen a few IS's about though (including the guy across the road) and an RX.
  8. Six (two threes). Did touch 14 a few years back :shutit: - 3 went on about 2 days after 3 ceased to count, but were backdated to the date of the offence so the licence showed a 2½ month period with 14 points on it! Needless to say that licence got "lost" when I moved house - didn't want anyone at the DVLA to have another chance to do their sums!
  9. But it IS insured though, isn't it, as long as you're driving with the owners permission you're covered by your own policy? Here's what it says on mine: That tells me that if, for example, i drive my stepfather's car, his insurance policy does not cover me for anything whatsoever, so its existence is irrelevant.
  10. Mate of mine has the Panasonic Viera 37" model. Absolutely stunning.
  11. You'll also save a few quid by taking it to someone other than Lexus to do the job. Keep Lexus for the service book stamps, use local garage (or even Toyota if they'll do it - some do - 'cos they should be cheaper than Lexus).
  12. Is there an age limit on parent & child spaces, or can I use them if I take my mother with me? (Yeah yeah I know, Peter Kay said it first, still funny though)

    Oem Ecu

The ECU part number depends on the age of the car. 2JZ-GTE engine 89661-30510 = JZS147..Q Oct 91 - Aug 93 89661-30750 = JZS147..Q Aug 93 - Aug 95 89661-30880 = JZS147..Q Jul 94 - Feb 95 89661-3A180 = JZS147..Q Aug 95 on 2JZ-GTE engine 89661-30560 = JZS147..V Oct 91 - Aug 93 89661-30870 = JZS147..V Aug 93 on The above parts are shown as "COMPUTER, ENGINE CONTROL" on the Electronic Parts Catalogue, so I assume that's the unit you're after. The Aristo also has separate computers for Shift Lock Control, Telephone, Cruise Control, Air Con, Multiplex Manager, Mirror Vibration Control, Tilt Steering, Absorber Control, Cooling Fan, Suspension Control, Skid Control, Traction Control and Power Steering! A search on the EPCs seems to show that the part numbers listed above are only used on Aristos, nothing else. Would be worth trying wherever you got the engine from.
  14. Found out today that the new Tom Tom GO 500 and 700 models let you use them as handsfree kits as well, using Bluetooth. Worth a thought when sat-nav shopping...
