  1. Same here. Tend to loop round LOC, Xbox-Scene and Pepipoo forums (same username in all) checking the Active Posts. Same in work, but to a much lesser extent (a quick nose when I'm not busy).
  2. Yes, they do. Local Toyota dealer replaced the ones on my old GS.
  3. Street (topic ground to a halt so I had another go)
  4. Even if there were engine reliability issues, "no reason to say the new one won't suffer the same problems?" How about the brand new V6 engine it uses instead of the old "unreliable" straight-six, surely that counts as a reason? As for the 400/430 engine, I read somewhere recently that with proper servicing the 1UZ-FE and 3UZ-FE engines are good for 400-600 thousand miles, so the Merc mob can p*ss off.
  5. If anyone's interested, the IS brake calipers also suit SC (UZZ40) and GS (JZS160, UZS161). Looks like Shahz is after them though, so I won't bother going after them.
  6. Anybody got any old tyres and petrol they don't want? :winky:
  7. You're concentrating on the conversation instead of the road. Not sure of the difference between that and chatting to someone sitting on the back seat, mind. Perhaps it's down to voice clarity, I don't know.
  8. LMFAO! (Sword6919, three of these words are Laugh, My and Off - you can suss the rest I'm sure) US dealers may not have access to the General, Europe or Japan EPC CDs. Also, Toyota dealers won't have full access to the Lexus parts of the CD - they need a password. Your info was gleaned by going into the EPC and searching the Europe and General discs in turn, looking for the part number you quoted. Once found, the part is shown, along with all the cars it fits (only the LS400 RHD). I then searched for "Spiral" on the Japanese discs to see what the equivalent is on the Toyota Celsior (different part number) and also the USA discs to find the equivalent on the US LHD cars (also different part number). All of my EPC discs came from P2P file sharing. My current collection is:- European A1 June 22, 1999 European A2 March 23, 1999 USA A1 July 29, 2003 USA A2 March 27, 2003 General A1 December 19, 2003 General A2 December 19, 2003 General B1 December 19, 2003 General B2 December 19, 2003 Japan A2 December 15, 1995 Oversea F1 December 16, 2003 Oversea F2 December 16, 2003 All running under EPC V1.00 for Windows 98, which runs quite happily under Windows 2000 (if anyone has V3.02 I have a Lexus crack for it). Still downloading others as I write (including Japan A1 so I can get the Aristo parts catalogue) - trouble is, most of the discs out there are older than their filenames claim!
  9. I don't get dug in the shin (size ten) but I know on my Toyotas, where this little plate thing was down next to the clutch, it felt a bit too-far-up to be somewhere to rest your foot. Tried removing it only to find a great big bolt sticking up for it to attach to - bugger!
  10. The scoffing of food is an interesting one (well, interesting to me at least). Can I get done for not being in proper control if eating, for example, a Peter's Chicken Pasty whilst driving? If so, why not if I was smoking? Dropping crumbs on your lap isn't quite as distracting as dropping hot fag ash, surely? If it comes down to size, where's the boundary? Pie? Pasty? Can of Red Bull? Mars? Twix? Cigar? Cigarette?
  11. Where do you stick yours?

Brand new or from a salvage yard? Got the part number?
  13. Still worth asking. At the moment you don't know where the other keys are. If one of the former keepers reckons the key went in the bin, or never received it either, at least you can trace where it ended up. If previous keeper says he/she gave it to the garage but the garage say otherwise, make note in case the car ever does get nicked. You never know, the previous owner may find it in the drawer!
  14. needs quite a bit of modding aswell, new mounting brackets, new discs, and wheel spacers aswell ← That's it Mat, you keep putting 'em off! :P
  15. Give them your work address instead.
  16. We don't stop cars from the front ........ the US do that ......... ← I got pulled over on the M5 from the front in a 7.5 tonne truck by a Merc ML. Police, Customs and Excise, Trading Standards and VoSA representatives all in one car... What a bad day that turned out to be... ← What a full car that turned out to be! Bugger! The flashers I knocked up went into a Vauxhall Carlton. Two additional (proper Vauxhall) switches on the dash. One switched on/off, the other toggled between flashing both headlights "hazard warning" style, alternately, and the double-flash style shown in the above picture. The LEDs on the switches (changed to blue) copied the action of the front lights. Circuit based around one PIC12C508 microcontroller (the same chip used to mod PlayStations, DVD players, etc.), all squeezed into a 25-way D-connector hood ("printer port" plug). A bit more intelligent than the "Knight Rider" running light that went into his Nissan Silvia a few years back, but not as good as the pair of 64-pattern, 32-LED light chasing sombreros I knocked up for Millenium Eve. All good fun!
