  1. Run on Battery Only? AFAIK the Prius can run on battery only for short distances, think "Stealth" mode.
  2. If I wanted Fashion dress advice, I would have asked ;) ← I'm sure you would! :zee:
  3. Huge-bore exhausts belong on Novas driven by chavs. The quad-pipes look much nicer. If you go for the two pipes, make sure you also get a baseball cap and a set of w**kerlights for the washer jets!
  4. My old GS300 (1995) had rust above the windscreen, apparently this can happen if the paint gets damaged when replacing a windscreen. Apart from that, no.
  5. Has it moved over the years? Not on THAT car, I mean have Lexus shifted the badges as one of their little tweaks? Can't grumble anyway, at least the letters are straight unlike the R O V E R letters you see on the back-end of some of their newer offerings!
  6. I'm Martin, 32 (already... Jeeez), living in Powys but originally from Aberdare (South Wales, not Africa), working for the council. Always been a Toyota boy ('82 Corolla, '86 Corolla, '90 Carina II, '96 Carina E) so Lexus was the obvious progression. Bought an N reg GS from the auctions, got stung a bit on that one (ball joints, exhaust, crankshaft oil seal) but shelled out on a 52-plate GS300 last month. Old one's gone to my mate Adrian Thomas (I'll leave him to introduce himself, he's already on the site).
  7. 52-plate GS, just over 30,000. What, no LS400 owners going to beat us into the dust with a 200K+ odo reading? C'mon fellas, you know your car's good for half a million!
  8. Don't bother with eBuyer, they won't always honour their online prices even after taking your money (a legal and binding contract according to their T&C, still doesn't stop them breaking the contract and cancelling the order). www.ukdvdr.co.uk is a better bet. Cheap inks, too!
  9. Why don't Jamster pick up on it? Better than that damned "frog" and Tweety the Chick! "Get Crazy Arab on your mobile! Text arab11 to 88 888 for the polyphonic ringtone, arab12 for the real sound, or arab13 for the animated screensaver. Call now!" You'll find more crazy Arab driving here.
  10. Check out the forums at www.xbox-scene.com, they'll put you straight. Pity you didn't check before signing up, you can play System Link games across the net using XLink Kai, and it's completely free!
  11. Were they goading that cop car on the main road or what? See one of them thump the window? That's the last time I'm taking my car there for a service!
  12. Ballast resistor for the ignition system? Then again, just checked under the bonnet of my GS300 and couldn't find one - looked under the plastic engine cover too.
  13. Had a four-wheel alignment done?
  14. LAST Christmas, crazy fool! Typical, price dropped by fifty quid a few days later!
  15. If you use the automatic searches online, DON'T give a mobile number (they'll premium-rate text you), and WAIT FOR A FEW QUOTES BEFORE BUYING. When I bought a Mk1 GS master cylinder and servo I was quoted half the price within half an hour!
  16. My TV collection includes:- Panasonic TX-32D2F 32" Panasonic TX-36PF10F 36" Panasonic TX-36PB50 36" I also bought my parents a Panasonic TX-32PD50 for Christmas. Speaking a few years ago to a bloke who worked for Sony, apparently they took one of their own sets off the line, went out and bought a Panasonic and a cheaper one (Goodmans I think) and tested them to destruction. Cheap one failed first, then the Sony. Panasonic outlasted the pair of them. If you want testament to Sony's reliability and quality control, check here. For more info on TVs check out www.avforums.com.
  17. Look here, I got them from Lexus in Dallas, Texas. Don't forget to tell Darrel that you got the details from the Lexus Owners Club.
  18. Shouldn't be too difficult if he's got the wiring diagrams (an AutoData book should do the trick). Depending on the way the switch works the immobiliser either needs to go inline, breaking the circuit, or in parallel, shorting the circuit. No different to any other immobilisation circuit, really, just different wires.
  19. Depending on the car and the way the BlackJax is installed, they may not have the keys for long! Put one of the immobiliser circuits across the neutral/park sensing switch of a Mk 2 GS and it won't give the keys back until you've deactivated the immobiliser!
  20. Cheaper and better ? £312 for a RAC Trackstar Plus ..... fitted. That's going to be the best £300 quid you spend on your car mate, takes 2 - 3 hours ! ← As long as it works, that is.
  21. These are the prices (inc. fitting) I've found so far. I'll edit this top post as I find more, feel free to have a hunt round yourselves and reply, though. AUTOWATCH 68Hi Abacus Car Alarms, London: £65 (supply only), from £175 (fitted) Alan Smith, Bucks: £217.38 (fitted) Sam Goodwin, Nuneaton: £186.83 (fitted) CLIFFORD BLACKJAX 4 Official web page here User's Guide here (PDF format) CarAlarmUK.com: £225 (fitted?) Cartronics, Bucks: £175 (fitted) PDAL Security, Watford: £150 (fitted) SecureYourSaxo (Car-Stuff.net), Cheshire: £210 (fitted) SJF Vehicle Security, Northants: £89.99 (supply only) YourCarParts.co.uk, Staffs: £257.99 (fitted)
  22. Looking elsewhere on t'Internet, the Landau appears to be from 1994 not 1985. Taken from Ward's Auto World, April 1994:- "European styling studios also showed a few concepts. The Lexus Landau is a "high-performance 5-door, 2-box, luxury compact saloon," says Giorgio Giugiaro, head of ItalDesign SrL. The show-piece is built from a Lexus GS 300 platform shortened by as much as 23.6 ins. (60 cm) but with the same 109-in. (278-cm) wheelbase. Under the hood is a Lexus V-8 coupled with a permanent 4-wheel-drive transmission. Toyota provided ItalDesign with the running chassis, but says it has no plans to produce the model."
  23. See that IS430 on the site? Damn, that's a tight squeeze under the bonnet!
  24. Don't forget Scarface, if they get sent down, to go pay them a visit. Suddenly bawling "If you touch my f :tsktsk: ing six-year-old daughter again, I'll f :tsktsk: ing kill you, you sick f :tsktsk: !" in front of the other inmates in the visiting room, should result in the beating from hell without you having to bruise your own knuckles!
  25. Look after that old Lex of mine Ade, or I'll repossess it! :D
