  1. You are more than welcome!.. thanks for displaying your feelings to LOC. "BUT" what Mr Mclean kindly left out was......? i set the car on the wrong "data". In my defence the job ticket given to me showed the car as a LS430GB, so for the next two hours i did struggle to balance recovery of a SC430GB geometry to comply with the LS430GB data, when it came to the print Mr Mclean noticed the error.... just goes to show we are all human and "do" make mistakes. the good news was the condition of the geometry on the SC430GB overlap was better since now i could "down" adjust. Fine gentelmen Mr Mclean for not disclosing my error but i think its better that everyone can see that "no one" is invinciable. Cause: trusting "third party" information. Prevention: check yourself.
  2. Shame about all the "truma", that print out can you diplay it? i would be interested.
  3. On that note i've just typed the best post ever, previewed it clicked back and it was gone? "why"? what i did say was some areas do need support, but not in veiw of LOC, once in all newbies are welcomed to the "MAX" but i do wonder how many "look and go"
  4. Yep i think it's a good idea. it's one thing to learn how to ride a bike but somtimes ringing the bell as well needs guidance.
  5. Think i've got it? ← Dam Tootin.............. :D , You have ← I dont want to do on and on with this topic as most reading it by now are probably crying but, it may help any newbies.. and "me" you said not to delete the tags so that whats left will be displayed does the same apply when the quotes are layered like now, for this reply all i would want to show is "Dam Tootin" and my reply, in this case would i delete all the above?
  6. OK "tail between legs" think i will work on this one slooowly. ← :winky: ...there grasped that one ← Thanks, please buy my book 101 ways to make yourself look an idiot..written by a master.....MR POINT.
  7. OK "tail between legs" think i will work on this one slooowly.
  8. Think i'v got it... ← Yep there we go.... oh i'v come over all "learnid" < that is a joke i'm not that bad!
  9. Thing is the panels are only scratched not broken, will the welding kits still apply? ← If you want some further advice, you can contact my mate Chris directly by phone or email from his site. He's a good bloke :winky: Tony. ← Will do... good looking site.
  10. EDDIE, my manager booked you in for a geometry sat 16th 9.30 for your fine tune, but im am not there on that day! can you contact me here, or 01923 234666 or wheels-inmotion@ntlworld.com. i am really sorry..... sat 23rd is a good day Scorpion is coming in for his fine tune, we can compare set-up..
  11. Thing is the panels are only scratched not broken, will the welding kits still apply? ← hi Tony mate you can apply filler to plastic panels as some fillers have some flexibility in them. you don't need to weld something that is not broken. my mate who does this sort of thing for a living say's it is not a problem to fill them. Like I said before if the scratches are not too deep you can just use filler primer. ← Thanks for your advice, the "filler" primer seems the most gentle method and makes sence... "poxy wind"....
  12. happy birthday Pete, now you get Hobnobbs at 10% discount and dont forget Antiques road show is on at 6.50
  13. You will need to check the "trusted" centres on my site, click the banner and go to the site map, please dont just get a wheel alignment, it must be a "full" geometry if you need any help with the settings let me know....it's all free...
  14. "WOW!" what did i miss last night? Come on guys whatever the topic lets put it to rest! and get back to the LOC family support that makes us unique. on that note "how" do i high light a part of a post to add in a quote.
  15. Steering wheel off centre after wheel alignment! explanation Equipment: basic alignment is "linear and can only generate an overall figure, this will not tell the opperator which wheel needs the adjustment. Design: the front wheels are linked through pivital points that allow "steering", once in motion the tyres will want to be in a position of least resistance and symmetrical, if the alignment has been adjusted on one side, or the wrong side the adjustment will be shared once the car is in motion, this will off set the steering rack and leave the steering wheel off centre Training: Wheel alignment within fast fit is considered as "simple", and to be true the actual adjustment is, but, the method is two pages long ending with "now" set the alignment, most go straight to the "now" Research: I have worked in the same company for 24 years so and i have seen people come and go, with some i have stayed in contact, so for my site i did some research with these people still within fast fit, my questions were... 1: How many customers asked for wheel alignment because the steering wheel is off centre: 2: How many complaints do you get after a wheel alignment has been done 3: How do you solve the complaint Answer 1: "Very" few 2: "About" 15% !!!! 3: Use a more experienced fitter or full geometry Be warned.......
  16. Good for you, that geometry was as good as a handbrake on canoe. if you need backup get them to phone me 01923 234666 Tony Bones and i will tell them why! Problem still remains, that report is very bad! where do you want to go from here!
  17. What did you pay for that alignment? You displayed real concern with the age of the opperator, can you say why? How do you feel know? I think many would value you example.
  18. Scorpion. thanks for that "guide" with the members of LOC, you know their cars more than me, so for the "can do and can't do" i tend to forward them to you? hope you dont mind!!!.
  19. Yes. you changed the lower ball joint, this area controls the SAI ( steering axis inclination ) Why: on the test was'nt the SAI measured? Why: if the front camber setting should be 5' neg was it left at 42' neg why: is the rear camber at 2deg 18' neg when it should be at 55' neg where: are the readings for castor where: are the readings for sai where: are the readings for the included angle where: are the readings for toe out on turns where :are the readings for the lock angles and on and on, please be wise......
  20. Thing is the panels are only scratched not broken, will the welding kits still apply?
  21. Steve! you are a victim! what you had done was "not" a full geometry? if you see .... .... on any print out then those angles have not been measured. all thay did was measure the camber and toe, front and rear. That print you posted shows "real" bad figures, please dont leave things there!... lets talk
  22. they are deep! real deep... so some sort of filler must be needed, what worries me is if i use body filler on plastic will it shrink or fall out? ← sorry to hear about your bike, wot a real bummer to find it like that. if the scratches are not too deep you could use filler primer, just spray it on and wet and dry it back down. Or you could just use filler but before you apply it you will have to rough the surface up so the filler has somewhere to stick to has it does not like shiny surfaces. Filler on the plastic will not shrink or fall out if it is prepped properly Or just bring your bike pannels to my mate and he will sort them for you for nowt as he owes me one or two favours, hope it is of some help to ya? oh dear the stella is starting to work let me know if I can be of some assistance Regards Tony :winky: excuse the spelling, it is friday you know ← Dont talk to me about "spelling" i will be honest about this situation, some of my work is for a body shop.. and thay will paint the panels for me for free "i hope" but i dont want to take the **** hence my wanting to prep as best as i can, its just that i am sure metal and plastic have different needs with the filler? i could ask the shop but thay dont even know what has happend yet and i would be nice to lesson the blow....
