  1. Just got me a new IS, with the Aero2 kit - the 'free' one they are giving awat at the moment. It's going back to them because they forgot to fit the parking sensors, but will also mention that the side skirt on the passenger side is not actually attached to the side of the car and could they fix that - will ask whether there is anything they can give me should I need to stick it back on myself in the future. Might help with some of your problems ...
  2. Am new to the LOC scene, but have seen the 'few doing much for the many' in another life as a member of my football club commitee, and can acknowledge the frustration. I look forward to meeting as many of you over time as I can, but will have to (at least to start with) leave my new IS in the land of the un-modded or risk the wrath of the company (whose money I gladly take every month to pay for it). The next time there is anything setup within a sensible radius of south Bucks, I'll be doing my best to attend - even if it is just to find out what I can do to my IS after I have paid off the mortgage.
  3. I'll echo the sentiments of other posts... I graduated in '93 in Computer Science with Electronics - wanted to try to avoid all that programming. The courses were very theoretical, with some (but not much) relavence to what happens in the real world today. A course that offers a placement will help - when my brother left Uni he managed to secure work with the company with whom he had spent a placement year. He was a 'safe' bet since he'd already worked there. I am still in IT, but working more in the voice space, with call centres, speech recognition, service automation etc.
  4. Thanks for the prompt responses gents. Suppose I ought to get the girlfriend to do it ... ;)
  5. Well I've had my new IS for a week now so I suppose it was about time my due diligence in protecting it came to an end. Whilst dropping my girlfriend off with some friends, they let their canine jump up to the passenger window. Yup, you guessed it, scratch marks on the passenger door. They don't look too bad, but I know they are there. They look the kind you would expect from a run in with the local hedge - too many box vans round where I live. Am new to LOC, and have had a look at the many posts ref maintenance of paintwork, and just want to be sure I know what I should be doing before I make matters worse. It certainly doesn't justify considering re-sprays etc, so if I can get them out with a wash and a polish/wax then I'd like to try. I know this will shine up the rest of the car but are the chances good that it'll remove these marks? Apart from that, having great fun with the new car, and thoroughly pleased with everything Lexus.
  6. A newbie on the board, but I'll be adding an Astral Black IS Sport into the mix soon. On order from Lexus Reading, due for collection later in the month. I live in Burnham, and commute to Heathrow daily. My brother has just moved to Burghfield, so will occasionally find myself in the Reading area. Plus the missus keeps dragging me to the Oracle shopping ...
