  1. @DAW No problem, I'll be heading back there soon myself as they have sourced black wheel and locking nuts for my wheels. I've been looking since getting the wheels done, I managed to find wheel nuts but had no luck finding black locking nuts. These guys with their contacts made a few phone calls and can get them. If you go they are located next to a Toyota dealer (Steven Eagell) and behind a Gulf petrol garage, there's a body shop, mechanics workshop and EMP exhaust workshop all in the one place. EMP did my custom axle back Powerflex exhaust.
  2. @DAW David I got these done by Herts Wheels they also do tints and wraps which how I first found them, they are based in Frogmore near St Albans worked out at £400 for all 4 wheels. Link to their site https://www.hertswheels.co.uk/
  3. You cloud go the option I did to my OEM wheels. (With new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric's on the rear)
  4. I do approx 16K miles per year in my 2018 RC300h F-Sport I average around 42MPG doing 25mile each way commutes mainly in 'Comfort' mode, don't use Eco mode as that is worse on fuel economy and slower to pick up on acceleration. The best speed for economy is 73MPH indicated which is actually 70-71, my speedo reads 2-3MPH fast, I average 550mile to the tank and on premium fuel normally get 2MPG better than on regular but I normally only use premium every third fill. Remember the RC is a GT not a sports car but in Sport + mode it can bring a smile and flick it into that mode for a quick overtake. Recently I fitted a custom axle back performance exhaust and a K&N air filter, the car does seem to have found a few more horses and the traction control does also cut in a lot more than it used to (rear tyres and in good condition, don't know for how long though!), in sport + mode with hard acceleration I can even now hear induction noise and also the engine now revs more freely. It was noticed and mentioned by the mechanics fitting the exhaust that the standard one has a restrictor just before the final back box, that restriction is no long there on mine. I have the standard audio which if listening to the radio is fine and at 'normal' volumes is ok but turn it up to ear bleeding levels and it distorts and gets tinny, I keep it down and am happy even on motorways. Standard SAT nav is fine I've had worse, only issue I have is you need to know the street name not just the postcode to find a route which doesn't always work when going to events located in the middle of the country.
  5. An audible and visual change; Power Flex custom axle back, there is now noise when ever the engine is running and the restriction that is in the OEM pipe has been removed. The engine now rev's more freely and it feels like it has released a few horses! No horrid drone and still fairly quite when at idle but boot it and all hell lets loose. It got cleaned after I took the photo
  6. I've found Formula E to be boring and I'll admit I also find F1 boring I used to enjoy F1 but the difference between the cars is so great that the lower teams have no chance. For my racing excitement I turn to the Oz V8 Supercar series. Oh the 1000 in the Bathurst title equals 1000Km. In this race they even change brake pads on a pit stop!
  7. @NemesisUK @Jgtcracer Service carried out on Monday and tracking checked, no issues and the tyres still have 4.5 - 5mm tread depth so I'll not be changing them for at least a year as they had 5 - 5.5mm last year.
  8. Well the issue is my tires do not yet require replacing but the tracking issue was highlighted when I had the wheels done. It's going in for it's 5 year service in two weeks so will get done then, if there is excess wear on a tire then I'll change them. Errr..... while at a petrol garage filling up yesterday had two guys walking past to their vehicle stop and look the car over nodding then one asked if I'd mind if he had s*x with it!!!!!! 😝
  9. @Jgtcracer Hi Marcus, no not checked yet just not had the time really but the car is booked in for it's major (60K/5 year) service in Jan and I've asked them to check the tracking while it's in. Then it'll be new tires.
  10. @Ianm100 Hi Ian the work was carried out by a workshop while they had the wheels off doing the wheel re-colour for me but I'll say you want to get ones from a known manufacture and go for the hub centric version as these are more secure and less likely to have any movement if installed correctly over the plain type. The spacers fitted are black so they blend in with the wheels. I can't remember the make but I did look them up before I let the workshop purchase and fit them. I would recommend Eibach for spacers
  11. Just reading your post and thought of a company I came across recently but have not used although they have a good repetition. They do Cats and Sport Cats for most cars may be worth a phone call? https://www.empperformance.com/services/36/Catalytic_Converters.html
  12. @andrey77 Here's the Maxton front splitter V2 as fitted to my car. Ordered online from them direct, arrived next working day!
  13. If you order tires from Black Circle you pay for the tires to be delivered to a selected garage of your choice from a list on the site with fitting included in the price. Used them several years ago on my old Volvo XC70 which had not very common SUV rated tires so most garages I visited didn't have any and didn't even offer to order any. https://www.blackcircles.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvOKmre79gQMVRYRLBR3rAwyEEAAYAiAAEgIJAfD_BwE
  14. @Scott Rogers Hi Scott and welcome, we do have meet ups during the year, the last one was at the end of June at the British Motor Museum nice turn out even if we were spread out over two locations due to a cockup by the museum.
  15. It works but sometimes it can be frustrating like when driving on a motorway in a gentle shower then hit by a down pour but the wiper is still wiping at it's slow intermittent rate and by the time it catches up with the rain you have come out the other side into sunshine with no rain but the wipers have caught up and gone into supersonic mode to late. Just saying.
  16. Welcome Clive. The RC does look nice in white. Depending on finances you have options of Lexus boutique - https://lexusboutique.net/collections/rc-300h-2015-2017 TRD - https://www.trdparts.jp/english/product/lexus/rc/index.html?utm_source=LexusOwnersClubUK&utm_medium=ForumLinks Artisan Spirits - https://artisanspirits.co.jp/lexus/rc.html Maxton design - https://www.maxtondesign.co.uk/body-kits/lexus/lexus-rc Fensport - https://www.fensport.co.uk/collections/lexus-rc-300h-f-sport-10-15?page=2 Fensport also do some of the TRD parts and carbon bonnets And lastly if money is no problem Rocket Bunny whose body kits are imported by JapWestmods - https://japwestmods.co.uk/shop/rocket-bunny/pandem-lexus-rc-f-wide-body-kit-rocket-bunny/ last one is for an RCF but.... Lastly check out Etsy - Cherry Blossom vinyl decals if you want a JDM look... and lots of other stuff
  17. Thank you David, the wheels are powder coated and the red was done over the diamond cut and matches the the red of the car. I'm so happy it worked out as I was very nervous about getting it done. I'll have to drive past some windows and see how they look, only thing now is to replace the wheel nuts and dust caps with black ones and either get the hubs smoked or find either a red Lexus 'L' or F-Sport 'F' replacement or vinyl. I have found F logo vinyl ones in the US but postage is almost as much as the item. The light tint PPF on the headlights and DLR lights also make a difference. Next job is to get the tracking checked as there is wear on the inner surface of the front tyres.
  18. Well I've done it after thinking it over for some time, I had the wheels painted plus added a splitter to the front, de-chromed and de-badged. The rear wheels have 15mm spacers which pushes them out and fills the arches. Still need to do the front ones but the company used didn't have the size required in stock. Before After
  19. If you check the companies that import from Japan you can find the RC350 as mentioned by those above, that will give you a performance boost over the 300h but not all out like an RCF but IMO is a more liveable every day car, at least on paper.
  20. Close to my memories. Dad had: Hillman Hunter Chrysler Hunter Both Hunters spent the summer holidays driving to Italy. Talbot Solara in Red Peugeot 309 Peugeot 406 and his last car when he retired and down sized but wanted something reliable a Skoda Fabia. I can't remember what he had before the Hunters. @First_Lexus …which is? I’ve always believed it to be ‘Lan - cha’ based on my one visit to Italy 😇 I can confirm as 'ci' in Italian is pronounced Cha as in my name Luciano - Loo-cha-no
  21. Oh one odd one, have your windows tinted staying within legal tint limits and declare it, that lowers your premium by around £100 However have PPF (Paint Protection Film) fitted and your premium goes up! Go figure.
  22. As Linas, plus your age can have an effect and the area, also all car insurance has over the last year gone up, mine went up £300 even with no change to my situation. The RC is seen as a performance car so some insurers will not insure, my old company would not insure me when I brought mine. The cars valve can have an effect on the premium and the insurer can check if the car has any accident history and what category that will also have an effect. As an indicator, a work colleague in his early 20's brought an old Astra VXR and his insurance was £5000 on a car worth £3000! He recently brought a BMW 135 after only driving the Astra for a year and his insurance has gone down to £2500.
  23. Just to jump in here that if you look at all the 'boy racer' types and testing they have done and documented it has been found that Tesco E5 is more consistent in quality then all the big brands. They also tend to check their fuel more regularly as they have been hit in the past with fuel issues in the media I have found when running on a full tank (55Litre) of E5 I constantly achieve 2MPG (41MPG Vs 43MPG) better fuel economy over running a tank of E10 with a very slight increase in performance in 'Normal' mode, there would be the odd switch to Sport+ at times on both fuels for a swift over take.
  24. Well for me a pure EV is currently out of the question, living in a second floor flat with parking but no dedicated parking space and being in a village with no public charging where/how do I charge an EV when at home? I also travel at least once a month 120 mile where I then have to park on street this would be followed by a 6:30hrs start 200 mile trip the next day and then return the same day at approx 18:00 generally parking in some rural car park. so when an EV can do that on one charge then sign me up. Except, yes I know I have those same type of batteries in my hybrid, but have you seen the damage the mining for Lithium is doing to the planet? Coming up this December I have a trip - 120 miles on the Thursday on street overnight, 280 mile on the Friday, local mileage on the Saturday currently no idea where I'm staying the Saturday night as this is being arranged by others, then the complete return on the Sunday, I will currently get home around midnight Sunday/Monday. Could I do this in an EV? You also have the concern that is being raised over the increased weight of EV's when involved in an accident, a lot are at least twice the weight of a conventionally internal combustion engined version.
  25. Unfortunately as I understand it we are not getting this here in the UK, such a shame.
