  1. My XC70 had both a manual dipstick and an electronic one, driving down the motorway one day and a message popped up saying add 1 litre of oil, first time I'd had a message like that and didn't know it even had that function.
  2. Interesting Volvo talk, as I came to Lexus from Volvo and have been a long time fan but after my last XC70 with the great D5 engine and the problem that I need to drive into the London ULEZ zone a change was needed. My first experience was many years ago with the old (DAF) 340 with the Renault 1.7 engine then an upgrade to the 740 saloon which was a great car and and the seats were so comfortable. The XC70 which was a P3 was very reliable and I owned it for 7 years the longest I ever owned a car it had 195k on the clock when I sold it but that engine still pulled like a train. I'd have another any day. I did consider the newer S60 before I went to Lexus, if there was a newer or current C70 I'd still be driving a Volvo.
  3. Sounds good to me and a chance to see some other RC's again, I've only seen one other RC on the road other than when we met last year.
  4. 25th is the only Sunday I can make in June so obviously the best for me.
  5. If you don't mind a very quiet RC300h F-sport joining you again I'd like to join in for the morning/day just so I can record all the exhaust sounds from the F's and play it back on some speakers fitted under the 300h. Only joking with the last bit. 😏
  6. With all this ice and frost around at the moment can any of you recommend a windscreen cover that works with the frameless doors we have on the RC. I have a cover from my previous car but that has flaps that are supposed to be trapped by the door, at the moment with very little wind it is working but any wind and the cover will flap away from the screen.
  7. Not had any smells but just did a check on the UK MOT site and it states as of yesterday my RC300h has a recall, nothing on the Lexus site though as for some reason it doesn't recognise my reg number. https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-recall
  8. Only recently, in its Order of 18 February 2019, the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main made a statement as to the circumstances under which manufacturers or importers are required to do so (Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main, Order of 18 February 2019 – Case No. 13 U 186/17). Manufacturers are required in each case to continue supplying spare parts for a period of two years after their product goes off the market so that their B2B customers will have access to the appropriate parts and are in a position to offer them to their customers who purchased their products under warranty. Manufacturers and dealers may reach contractual arrangements which go beyond this period.
  9. Unfortunately Ford decided to patent the heated windscreen, that's why you don't see them on other cars.
  10. Not too worried about the ABE Quote "ABE stands for “Allgemeine Betriebserlaubnis“. This is mainly issued in Germany for a certain component like, e.g., special wheels, springs, sport-type exhaust systems etc. As long as the installation or attachment instructions therein have been complied with, the car’s operating licence remains valid. Always carry the component’s ABE with you in your car so that you can show it to the police when asked for it." I doubt any after market exhaust would meet ECE "An ECE approval does more or less correspond to an ABE but is valid all over Europe. No TÜV inspection or entry in the vehicle documents is required since the after-market parts’ specs are in line with OE-Standards. The advantage over an ABE: No documents have to be carried, since the components themselves bear a control number." Seen a few posts where others have fitted Invidia but not seen a post of one fitted to a RC300h as yet.
  11. Enjoying my RC300h F-Sport but have been looking at replacement exhausts as even a bit of noise would be nice from the 4 pot. Now I've found this Invidia Q300tl-s axle back that fits without changing the rear bumper, has anyone had or got any experience with this? Think it also looks better than the standard two pipe exhaust. https://www.invidia-europe.com/lexus/rc-200t-300h-2015-axle-back-exhaust-q300tl-s
  12. Back from Go Japan, only saw a handful of Lexus, a couple of IS a 200 and a 220D, a LS400 and a LS450h plus my RC. Couple of photos of none Lexus
  13. Here’s a couple more I captured on the phone. Mines the red one in my first photo and I’m the one in the middle in the tan shirt in the group photo.
  14. Great to meet everyone, see and HEAR all the F cars while I made a silent departure in EV mode, well not quite but compared to you F lot near silent.
  15. Late to the party but is a RC300h F-Sport welcome? Seen in posts above a few in the Hertfordshire area as am I, Cuffley.
  16. Well it's 4 years old and will be 5 when the next service is required other than that the salesman never discussed my warranty only how the battery check 12 monthly warranty works. I have not got any information regarding REFLEX
  17. Interesting, picked up my RC 4 weeks ago and asked the salesman if I could get it serviced by Toyota as there is a dealer on the corner of the block where I work. Told by salesman no and why would you do that! Any way while out and about happened to be parked up and waiting next to another Toyota dealer and to kill time I asked the question and the reply was 'sure not a problem we can order in any parts needed' So I think when the time comes the Toyota dealer will get my custom.
  18. Any one attending? I'll be there, my first time attending any such show as although not my first Japanese car it is my first Japanese sports/GT car. I was recommended to book an individual display so my RC will be on display, only had it 4 weeks so mostly stock. Be nice to meet any fellow Lexus club members or RC owners
  19. Well plan to keep it at least 5 years but will look at the ceramic coating option as well. Gave it it's first wash yesterday and noticed it already has a few stone chips and a couple of small scratches so a bit late for the PPF I think.
  20. Interesting read guys, recently brought my RC300h and loving the paint work, have also been looking at the PPF option and as an idea a local company has quoted £1400 + VAT for the front end (Bonnet, bumper, wings, mirrors, headlights and A pillers) plus an extra £200 for the doors on top of that they require the car for 7 days to do the work.
  21. Can I just add that this is not new, many many years ago I owned a 1972 Audi 80 my first car. I needed a distributor so visited a scrapy and found a VW Passat with the same engine so obtained the distributor but notice that in the fuse box was a relay for wash/wipe something my Audi didn't have so a couple of quid later for both items opened the fuse box on the Audi and there was a empty slot for said relay. Relay fitted and then my Audi had wash/wipe function. Basically a common wiring loom just leave off the relay or in modern cars the software and then the function is not available.
  22. Thanks Steve, manuals downloaded although a little confused as they all show a touch pad for controls while my RC has a wheel like a BMW idrive.
  23. Day two of ownership of my RC300h F Sport 2018 (phase 1), no manuals included with the car, I've figured out the sat nag but can't figure out how to tune different DAB stations and set them as presets. Can anyone help with either guiding me through it or somewhere I can find an online manual or video. I'm in Hertfordshire near Potters Bar. Thanks for any help As an aside I will be attending the Go Japan show at Brands Hatch if any one else wants to meet up.
  24. For me I just searched for a owners club, something I tend to do whenever I purchase a vehicle.
