  1. Right after the first 5 minutes in the new RX a year ago when I went for a test drive I knew It’s not for me. Very disappointed with the interior quality/ design but also with the space in particular for the back seats. The increase in price from 64k for a 2022 Takumi to a 82k Takumi (when new) is not justifiable at all to me. It also feels more like a bigger NX where the previous model was nothing like that.
  2. Paying for Lexus warranty is like throwing money on the window in my long ownership of Lexuses. However it’s worth keep servicing it with Lexus at least the small service annually because this extends for free your hybrid system warranty that goes up to 15 years and no mileage restriction and this is basically the most expensive part to repair/ replace on a hybrid. Went up 70%? I ve always paid around £350 for the RX and if it’s over 100k miles like in my case I get a 20% discount on servicing however not all the dealerships offer this discount. I use Lexus Hatfield.
  3. Try to get a Carista obd reader together with the app named the same, i managed to adjust quite a few things on my cars along the time. Not sure if the software for the new RX is there but worth trying otherwise some Lexus specialist with one of their tool might be able to disable a lot of the annoying dings
  4. And oh stretch a bit and get yourself the 2016+ model, it’s a big improvement having them both.
  5. Panoramics seem to develop leaking issues over time not just in Lexus cars. Mostly because nobody does any maintenance on these seals. Like regular cleaning and lube.
  6. Car insurances went up for all the car makes, it’s just something we have to get used to. The times when insurance would drop one year from another are long time gone. What else are you going to replace your Lexus with that will save you money overall?
  7. Makes sense…London seem to be the worst from what I ve heard
  8. Definitely a must to have the cooled seats along with the adaptive cruise control
  9. Shame it didn’t go to a reasonable person instead of these ripp off dealerships
  10. Wow been a while and is still not sold. Appeared on Autotrader for just under 28k, now i m tempted 😃
  11. I mostly agree with paying more for lower mileage but I completely disagree with buying from dealerships unless buying a new car. They are so inflexible with the price, when I was buying mine a few years ago I had my eyes on a Premier from a Lexus dealership. I asked for a 2% discount and he turned me down without a blink trying to sell me more insurance crap and service plans. Two weeks later the car was still for sale but with almost 4% lower price, so HOW frustrating is that?! Also I have seen 2-3 years old cars HPI clear sold by Lexus that clearly had some of the panels (poorly) repainted so regardless of where you buy you need to know a bit what you’re buying. Now buying privately is another story, first you get to meet the person who drove it and usually you can tell a lot by that. Secondly if the car was maintained by main dealership on schedule and has active warranty I don’t really see the problem. The best part is that you can negotiate and get to the point that makes you happy when you’re buying. Also there is a 2021 Takumi on autotrader with 24k miles, sold privately for 33k probably negotiable. It’s red so not my cup of tea but come on, what you’re getting for your money is a LOT. That would’ve been close to 70k when new just two years ago. So I m sure you see my point. Getting into a dealership, having a coffe and being treated nice by the man in the suit, sure is very nice but then I remember that I m paying for all of that so I don’t like it anymore. In 2020 my mate bought a 2017 RX for 35k from Lexus. Two years later and 13k miles more he returned it at the same dealer for 24k. I saw the car coming back on the market for guess how much?! Exactly 35k. I thought it will be there forever but a few weeks later it disappeared. This is the price paid for nothing else BUT convenience. Apart from regular service my friend put 4 new tyres and new brakes a year after buying it. The classic rear squeak from suspension wasn’t fixed on warranty they just lubed it. He also paid for extra warranty about £800/ year after the first year if I remember well. At that point Lexus didn’t have the 10 years/100k miles warranty. So for him was a very frustrating experience and he started to hate Lexus for that, which is not fair as they are excellent cars.
  12. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/196133438662?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=d4lcoMhORIC&sssrc=2051273&ssuid=d4lcoMhORIC&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY In case someone is interested in buying an RX just saw this on eBay and thought to share it. It’s very interesting how the prices dipped
  13. I wasn’t sure either if I would have another one, but after shopping around and test driving different cars I ended up with another RX. Not too many luxury reliable cars with fairly low maintenance costs and warranty up to 10 years for free are available. And regardless of what you choose, as long as it’s a fairly new model it will be prone to theft so bare in mine to have a good steering lock all the time on and a tacham approved alarm, tracker and immobiliser. If you check the forums you will hear about Mercedes and Bmw’s being stolen a lot. Also most of the Bentley, Porsche and other premium car brands owners install extra security devices.
  14. That’s a nice car! Anything more than 38k I think it’s a good offer. Will you buy another one? 🙂
  15. On the other hand the 2023 RX 450h+ Takumi or a 500h F Sport lost quite a bit of value. You can find a half a year old one for about 60-66k which new would’ve been around 82k
  16. I was paid slightly more than what I paid for my stolen RX as it was insured for the market value meaning they considered how much I could’ve sold my car for at the moment of the theft. I find it that prices of these cars went up because despite the fact that I was paid more I couldn’t buy an RX with similar mileage/ specification. What spec and what mileage was your RX?
  17. Although I haven’t heard of any failures of the hybrid batteries on the cars that are less than 7-8 years old, it’s definitely worth to have. Will also keep the car’s value high
  18. This might sound silly but I m read that thieves prefer dark or black cars, wonder why, maybe they blend in more? My stolen RX was black, my friend’s neighbour RX as well. What colour was yours? Just out of interest
  19. Yes it does. If you look in photo 7, underneath the right side vent, you will see 5 buttons, this means that it has all the optionals offered for UK and that includes the 360 camera
  20. You won’t have any issues driving an euro 5 petrol hybrid car in London. At some point at had to choose between a 2014 RX Premier and an NX 2016, I choose the NX, much better to drive in terms of steering and more updated interior/ exterior. But go and test them both, only you can decide
  21. Wow in the middle of the day?! This makes things even more scarier. Hopefully your insurance will pay fast. I assume you didn’t have any protection on…
