  1. I'm glad this has been mentioned because that's by far the biggest complaint about mine in the three years of ownership (three years tomorrow, actually!). The boot is very small indeed. For my general day to day use, going back and forth to work, it's absolutely fine. If I'm travelling on my own, again, no issue. As soon as two or three people are inside though, luggage space...hmmmm...yeah! It's the same when it comes to a full weeks' worth of shopping and the odd weekend away - which always results in a bulging parcel shelf (I don't like *not* having a parcel shelf!). The only way to avoid that is to utilise an empty rear footwell/seat. Ironically, I would say that the UX does have the largest inside/under-armrest storage space I think I've ever had in any of the cars I've owned.
  2. That's exactly what I've got on order (in Takumi spec). My local dealer had one in the showroom at the time and, certainly in my eyes, it looked pretty much perfect. I've always been a fan of Terrane Khaki. I wanted it in my existing UX three years ago but I'd have faced quite a wait to get one (nothing compared to the horrific waiting lists today, however!), but I was set in stone on getting Terrane Khaki on order this time around. I wasn't sure on what interior colour to go for at first, but as soon as I saw hazel, I knew that had to be it.
  3. Well, my UX went in for it's service and first MOT on Friday as I said, which all went well. I didn't see my salesman when I dropped it off first thing. I was 'ushered' very quickly on arrival straight to the service area and I honestly didn't see him when I was glancing across anyway. However, he did actually come across to see me when I went to pick my UX back up again. To be fair to him I'd not seen him face-to-face since about last October (on one of my chase-ups) and he recognised me and knew my name. Cutting a long story short - still no proper 'update' as such, which I must admit, is starting to get me a little frustrated now. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely wasn't expecting him to say "Oh, it'll be here ready to collect next week!". It would have been nice to just see whereabouts I was in the queue e.t.c...something to show me that I'm working my way up the list. Instead, he took me through to the office where the computers were so he could physically show me my order on the system. He didn't say anything, but from quickly looking at the screen as he was working his way through it, I was about 20-odd down the list still... I don't know if that means anything or not, but it didn't bode well. He shown me that it has an 'order number'. It was an 'LA' code with four(?) digits after it. He said something along the lines of that means whilst it doesn't have a build date yet, it must have a slot 'somewhere' which hasn't been moved. It's got down the date of registration as being 22nd June. If you recall, the last update I had from him that it would be June, possibly sooner as he's had several come in a good number of weeks before they were actually due. What he then said is that to get it here for then, they'd have to start building it within the next few weeks so they could ship it in time. If not we're looking at "very late June, possibly July". All I'll say is that if it's going to be July - they can store it for me until September so I can have a 73 plate. I'm not willing to wait 14 months for a new car, only for it to be on a current plate for a matter of a few weeks before the plate changes. I know some people would consider that 'sad', but I'd genuinely feel quite 'cheated' about that. I've accepted a new car in mid-May before now and if I've got to be completely honest, that's about as late as I'd do that again. I didn't think about this next point until after I'd left, but I'm hoping it's not going to be registered to me as soon as it arrives without me knowing about it. I would like to be given that option first. Before I left him, he said he's only had one customer who has had wait beyond twelve months to far - and that's a chap who ordered his in February '22 who still hadn't had a build date. He said he was 'sure' was a fault on his system which he'd raised a case for. So, if he's now telling me "June, possibly July", that would mean I'd only be his second customer to wait over a year... I don't think he realised what he'd said there, given mine was ordered in May '22. Fingers crossed, but I'm not getting my hopes up! Apparently, mine will be arriving in Portbury whenever it comes. How he knows that considering it's not even got a build date yet is another matter! I will admit that something like that was in the back of my mind! Given the 'update' (well, sort of) which I had on Friday, I've decided to shelve that idea of contacting Lexus HQ for the time being. If I've still not got a build date by the end of this month or very early April, then it's something I'll reconsider.
  4. Thanks! In an odd way it's probably good to know the app has been mostly useless in this respect - otherwise I'd have been a bit annoyed to have missed potential updates on my own order! It seems your own dealer is like mine, where information, at absolute best, has been scant. I'm sure the dealers feel the same, but Lexus UK HQ ought to be more active at providing updates to the dealers, so at least it gives them the opportunity to subsequently update customers and saves people like ourselves having to spend time on forums! Again, I fully accept I'm still within that twelve month waiting period with mine having been ordered at the end of May '22. It's just that after nine months and initially being told my the dealer to expect to hear of progress by last Christmas, I admit I'm getting a little concerned at no news now. Obviously I don't know how long it takes for the car to be built, but I'd imagine getting it built, shipped across and waiting at the dealer for me in May would be pretty tough going now. 😕 Thanks for that e-mail address. Much appreciated. I was going to ask if anyone here had any contacts 'above' dealer level which may be able to update me. My UX is going into the dealers this coming Friday for it's first MOT. If I can't get hold of my salesman either when I drop it off or pick it back up again, I'll use that e-mail address. I'll give the dealer one more try for any progress report before I take it further. I'll post an update as and when.
  5. Barring one distance run at the end of November, high 40's is all I've managed for months. As already mentioned though, I always get poorer economy during the colder/winter months. Especially during any particularly cold snap during my drive to/from work where the lights are on practically all the time, my heated seat is on for most of those drives, plus use of the heated wheel first thing in the morning... I would expect to start seeing an improvement as we head into the spring.
  6. In May '22 (can't remember the exact date to hand, but it was towards the end of the month), I ordered an NX350h Takumi, in Terrane Khaki with the Hazel Smooth leather and panoramic roof. I was told the estimated lead time would be twelve months - so May '23 for delivery. I was okay with that as my current 20 plate UX250h remains with me until this September (I thought it was March when it turned three years old, but it turns out it's on a three and half year deal...). At the time of ordering, the dealer told me to not worry about that (at this point I thought I'd have to change cars this March) as Lexus would 'see' I have a new car on order and would extend my current deal until the new car arrives. I don't know how true that is, but I'd be interested to hear from others. I was also told not to expect to hear news of any progress with regards to a build date until around Christmas. I was also told there would be 'a wait' after the car has been built as it takes approximately eight weeks to ship across. I duly paid my £1000 deposit and left. Christmas came and went and I hadn't heard a thing from the dealer, so I paid them a visit. Whilst they were very polite, they basically had no news at all. No progress reports over those seven months - no nothing. The salesman was perfectly honest with me, smiled, shrugged his shoulders and said all he's giving customers at the moment over lead times is bad news. I can't say I felt overly optimistic when I left. I called them a week or so ago for a progress report, thinking surely by now they would have something on their system. Especially given we know the order books for the NX are now closed. Sadly not. Still no build date, no sign of any progress - no nothing. Just a simple "You might be looking at June, but we've had a few customer's cars coming in a few weeks sooner, so it could still be May...". So, there's a possibility it's gone back a month (so a 13 month wait) and if I hadn't have called, I wouldn't have known any better. Basically, it's me that's had to do the chasing. They've not been in touch with me with any updates. Maybe that's my fault for not being more active in this? However, having seen other fellow members getting updates from their own dealers does make me a little frustrated by my dealer, I will admit. I haven't been set up with any apps to monitor progress. Until I started scanning through this thread, I didn't know such a thing was available to be honest. The dealer has never mentioned it to me. If I had some form of progress report and could see I was working my way up the queue I'd probably feel a little easier over this, but without so much as a build date (or when to expect one) after almost nine months of waiting, I have to say faith in the company as a whole has taken quite a knock. I'm an incredibly patient person and I know I'm probably worrying a little too early at this stage, but time is ticking on now. I've largely left the dealer in peace as we all know the situation with regards to chip shortages but I'll be interested to know if any other members with NX's on order can relate to such a lengthy time without any progress on their new car at all. I do honestly feel as though I've been forgotten about. I'll need to know over the next month or two what's going on because if it's bad news, I'll need to either arrange to keep my UX more long term or start frantically looking elsewhere for a replacement.
  7. Hello there... I first come across this forum a few months ago whilst looking to see if anyone else had similar/ongoing waiting time issues for the new NX. Until now, I've just glanced over a couple of the threads and have now decided to sign up and take part in discussions when I have a bit of spare time available. I currently own a 2020 '20 UX250h F-Sport in F-Sport White with the red leather option, tech/safety pack and the Adventure Pro pack. It was the showroom model at Liverpool Lexus at the time. I've really enjoyed owning it overall, despite it's small boot. It's my first Lexus having been with Audi for 12 years until that point. I am very much hoping to stick with Lexus heading into the future, but I'll explain that more in the relevant thread for NX waiting/lead times! All the best.
