  1. Mossypossy - blue stain:- Have you tried the following, Use a good branded leather cleaner (I use autoglym) and brush into a foam with fine bristle leather type brush. Leave for at least a minute then clean off with a clean cloth rinsed in clean water – repeat as necessary. Wait until dry or speed up drying with hair dryer.
  2. I'll start at £60 for the manuals. 😊
  3. Boersma, In this post click on the big light brown box with the big "N" inside and little light bulb symbol (top Left). The member page will show. Go across to the black box "Message" (top right). You can only send one private message each day. On the forum you can post as many messages as you like.
  4. Boersma, I've sent you a private message about some items that I might be interested in.
  5. Unless you are really keen I would not bother. As well as extras in the form of a s/s exhaust system and 19 inch alloys my SC430 came with a front camera fitted at some time which I think has made the rear parking sensors faulty? Some time I'll have the camera removed and see if I can get the rear parking sensors working properly again.
  6. Steve , Quite often with the headlights the surface of the clear plastic degrades over the years which effects the lighting performance. I have had very successful results correcting this on my SC430 and Mercedes CLK 320 by using MOTHERS Mag & Aluminium Metal Polish 5oz for most metals **COMPLETE KIT** : Amazon.co.uk: Automotive I applied and polished it by hand with 3 applications with excellent results to the lens. I expect even better results using a machine polisher or drill. It does work! (read the Amazon reviews)
  7. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324485722401?hash=item4b8cdb3121:g:N90AAOSwpAhgKFeu&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4L0oL0l16fSVF5e9rj9VZlx14ueFzA1gtVprXUDKYKd5zr6e8mt1JQxzX8bljm5SemgautFgPLitXBk%2FGp4pLoXjvRFtWmvjuh4rBiXhNe8vNCLzfPHtwxy7xWgDDBMOffM16OgwipiPce5ZIxl0eLHcOVPA7AoshaWIfLCxcIEoRQycF%2FJ7XhQeQh134OPqKF%2BEGudgVRP4J21dxjRy0o%2BX%2F5ScWYby9n41sMsZRn4CYmbxeP7HB1bpohBQbkocJkoEyAZ235rZrW62lt8kp3on43ycdlJDlY9Ny1R%2FiQzm|tkp%3ABFBMoLf12YR
  8. True it's not rocket science for any competent mechanic just the radiator needs moving first. Should be well under £1000 for a non-dealer to do the job? My 2019 invoice for doing the work was £600.
  9. Michael, When you change your alloys sometimes the TPMS tyre valves and system are not compatible. If this happens then an easy fix is to unplug the TPMS module which is located under the stereo unit (remove the gear shift centre console). This turns off the dash warning light.
  10. Boomer54 states:- "I notice the front grill badge is different to my Lexus SC 430. Does that mean anything?" This indicates that this car could be a Japanese Dry Import where the SC430 is badged as a "Soarer" That's really no bad thing if you intend to keep the car as they usually have an excellent underside due to the climate and Japan not using salt on their roads. Also you can get different colour combo's from the UK cars. Resale prices will be 5-10% less.
  11. The 2006 facelift cars also have AFS headlights (Adaptive Front Lighting System) which turn as you move the steering wheel:- "The AFS system is a safety feature that allows the driver to see better in low-light conditions. The system uses sensors to detect oncoming traffic and will adjust the headlight beam pattern accordingly. This allows the driver to see better and avoid potential accidents. The adjustments of the light conditions depend on the speed, road, and weather conditions. For example, when making a turn the AFS will provide more light on the side that you are turning towards making it easier to see."
  12. No mechanical issues at all. I totally recoloured the leather interior (see my thread about it). It came with a stainless steel exhaust and 19 inch split rim alloys with new tyres. Here is the pre-purchase video:
  13. One of the best colours. If first registered before April 2006 then cheaper road tax? Mileage is not really an issue as there is a YouTube video of a red SC430 still running at 700,000 with the engine being serviced and cam belt changed regularly. That eBay seller has it as an auction listing so if no one else bids you will win it for £5900. This is how I got mine for £5600.
  14. Unusual colour.............................nice!
  15. I did also did the old "switch the ignition on and off 3 times without starting the car" procedure afterwards.
  16. Stephen, you could always buy and use a "memory saver" for when you change the battery if you are worried. Draper 22231 EOBD Memory Saver, Blue : Amazon.co.uk: Automotive However - today I changed the battery on my Mercedes CLK without using anything and all setting were retained. I think that the ECU retains a little power and takes some time to fully discharge and lose setting? It took me about 5 minutes to change the battery and every thing was fine.
  17. If the battery charge/voltage is too low it will cause crazy things to happen with the electricals. "Spirits in the Material World". 🙂
  18. Roof opening and reset video after opening it with the boot open.
  19. Hey guys, we are the SC430 Club.............................that's a great mileage for one of our own. Shows what is possible.
  20. Despite some of what Scotty says that is an incredible mileage for ANY used motor car. It would be impressive if it was just kilometres.
  21. The American Scotty Kilmer does some entertaining, funny and informative YouTube videos. He also owns Lexus cars himself. Below is a link to a scary but yet at the same time somewhat reassuring video on an extremely high mileage SC430 confirming the importance - as we all know - of a regular timing belt and water pump change ultimately resulting in a Lexus SC430 (albeit very tatty) still running at 698,760 miles (see 2.19 in video).
  22. Hi Stephen. If you read my post again about that ladies wonderful light metallic blue Lexus SC430 in Torquay I in fact said "similar" to Mercedes Quartz Blue. The actual Lexus colour is 1 or 2 shades lighter but looks great. If I ever respray mine I would probably do a colour change and use the Mercedes Quartz Blue colour which is one of the best colours on a car I have had or seen. It's iridescent light blue/violet colour. The car below will look even better in bright sunlight - but the seller is asking a crazy price (should be around £2500). I have had 3 in this colour. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/404561606189?hash=item5e31c0362d:g:pwQAAOSwMhdlMkLZ&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwKaD%2Bzc7wiBfjcjNDFRzHlmN%2B%2FQJFYDBSCm%2FlO2QTyLdhX7r4CFVwAc2xEFSnqosiAPjQzGW2%2FUdoFFpTvqe8EqfY9JzicrG6Jl7DOQ3Yx64QG3anEqV2wjh4EYPRrr%2FWVek4NNdhryQuiX5EurjD4wZNRlQKpwgtHhqH%2Fj59G6VtdShEFXnUEADFby%2B02V
