Connected Services
MarcG replied to Seaview26's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
Yes, If he still has the Lexus Link app and has the vehicle linked to the app. Hopefully he will have deleted the vehicle from his app. You can 'break' the link from the car via the Settings Menu -
Insurance renewal - pleasant surprise
MarcG replied to BillSt's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
Biggest increase in thefts are Range Rovers and Lexus RXs. A lot of insurers will not insure Range Rovers in London. As for insurance, companies are no longer allowed to differentiate between new and existing customers. In effect existing customers were subsidising new business. What happens now is that as your policy renews the premium drifts upwards. I had a gap of 3 weeks between selling my old car and receiving the new, so I was going to cancel the insurance for those 3 weeks. My Broker advised me to maintain the existing policy, otherwise insuring the Lexus would be treated as new business. -
Sorry Graham I had a 540i BMW and had the seat belt buckle rattle from the front passenger seat. Took me a while to find it.

Lexus Servicing costs
MarcG replied to 61babes's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
No such thing as cheap motoring these days. I came from a 3.0L BMW 5 series (0 to 60 4.9 seconds) to a 450NX+. The BMW was a lovely car, however when the 3 year warranty ended, independent warranties became more expensive and covered less. Lexus 10 year warranty, provided the car is serviced by them, was a major factor in my brand change. You know that you are getting old when the length of the warranty is more important then the 0 to 60 time! -
2nd Key fob arrived at Dealers yesterday - car delivered Sept 23. Apparently locking wheel bolts were sent out to Dealers last week, so should be in stock. A timely phone call to your Dealer may prove fruitful

Charging plug not locking in on car
MarcG replied to Ken R's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
I have had the same issue intermittently. I'm using a Hypervolt 3 charger. I find that double locking the car solves the issue -
NX450 delivered in Sept. Last week Dealer advised that Lexus had told them second fob was available, and they have ordered it for me. Didn't receive anything from Lexus. Dealer also advised that locking wheel bolts are being issued to Dealerships, so hopefully not too much longer

My 2 month old NX 450 suffered a cracked radiator grill and spoiler after an encounter with a suicidal hawk. A Google Search for 'Lexus Bodyshop' linked to Lexus Accident Care on the Lexus UK website. https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/servicing-and-maintenance/accident-care. Benefits stated: Arrange Roadside Recovery - not needed Liaise with your insurer and handle on your behalf - No they don't! Their involvement ends once they have a sorted out a Lexus Approved Bodyshop. Arrange a replacement vehicle to keep you mobile while your Lexus is in for repair - No they don't! - Arrangement of a loan car is between You and Your Insurance Company / You and the Bodyshop I have raised a complaint with the third party that provides the 'service' as the page is misleading and am waiting for a response. I have also raised the issue with Lexus Customer Relations. Their initial response was that it was matter between me and the the third party company. I pointed out that the service was advertised as 'Lexus Accident Care' and that it was on their website which means that someone at Lexus had, at some stage signed off on it. I further stated that, at best, the webpage was misleading. I am waiting on responses which I will post on here>

20inch Runflats vs 18inch non-runflats
MarcG replied to Richard77's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
I have spinal injuries following an RTA. I had a BMW 5 Series with 18" rims because of the softer ride. My 450NX came with 20" Run Flats and the ride comfort is better than the BMW -

Unfortunately, nothing on the underside of the black plastic trim. -
NX350H Puddle Lights
MarcG replied to Fusspot's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
I've had the circular blanking plate off, and as Colin says the only thing behind it is a nut securing the black plastic trim. To be fair, I didn't pay much attention to the black plastic trim so I'll recheck -
NX350H Puddle Lights
MarcG replied to Fusspot's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
Thank you Gary and Pete It would make sense if it was Takami only. However my car. like Pete's is a Y24 model. Photos attached - circular blanking plate on all four doors -
NX350H Puddle Lights
MarcG replied to Fusspot's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
Apologies if I am missing something here. Where are you actually installing the lights? I have a NX 450 with the Premium Pack option. It has puddle lights in the front door handles, which as have been previously stated are not very bright. I have spoken to the supplying Dealer, who has said that it is correct - no mention of lights at bottom of door. There is one circular plastic blanking plug at the bottom of the door, however there was no connector behind it, just a bolt securing the black plastic trim to the bottom of the door. -
Display Screen protector
MarcG replied to RKane's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
Be careful with what you use to wipe the screen. Even micrfibre towels can leave small scratches. Use something extremely soft like a bald wipe - link below. Never ever tumble dry a cleaning or polishing cloth as it stiffens the fibres making it more likely to scratch https://www.in2detailing.co.uk/products/gyeon-q2m-bald-wipe-evo-40x40cm -
Ghost 2 immobiliser, not yet!
MarcG replied to WhiteHart's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
Just a thought, if Ghost is activated / deactivated by pressing a series of buttons, what happens as and when Lexus issue a software update? Ghost works when the thief has entered the car, in that he will be unable to start the vehicle. However damage may have been caused by gaining entry. I appreciate that there are likely to be stickers on the window warning of Ghost, however there is no guarantee that the thief has seen them or will be deterred by them. I would prefer the DiskLok which covers the whole steering wheel and provides an immediate visual deterrent. Obviously its downside is that it is cumbersome. -
Picked up my NX 450 mid Sept. One fob and one blade. Dealer anticipates second fob before the end of the year

Door Handle Lights - somewhat mean?
MarcG replied to MarcG's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
I believe that the tyres on the NX are Run Flats ergo no need for spare tyre, space saver or otherwise. Also no no need for tyre foam. The lack of memory on front passenger seat is just plain mean. I'm 6' 2" and my wife is 5' 4" so are seating requirements are totally different -
Gary, they don't use hacksaws anymore. Instead they will drill the lock or use a power saw Have a look at the Disklok which covers the whole steering wheel. It meets the Secure by Design Standard which as I understand it is a specification detailed by the police. https://www.disklokuk.co.uk/

Gary, I spoke to my Dealer about this. Apparently thieves used to take out the wheel liner and plug an electric box into the wiring harness. The Dealer told me that the 2024 models have a plate mounted which stops this

New car delivered with wrong spec.
MarcG replied to Scotlex's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
If you reject the car as not being of the required specification it becomes a used vehicle and therefore the Dealer is likely to take a hit when reselling it. It might be worth pointing that out to him as a starting point for compensation. At the end of the day you have paid a lot of money to get the exact specification you require. I would also advise contacting Lexus UK. Best of luck
