  1. They changed from £13.99 to £3.99 ?? Wow.....that's quite a difference ! It makes you mad how they offer all these discounts to new customers (to fish them in), and yet the ones who are loyal customers get penalised.
  2. Well seeing at its "tri-fuel" if it gets too expensive to fill it with petrol you can throw half a ton of coal in the back and shovel that in the hatch!!!!!!!!! Better still, if you run out of coal you could always rip up the timber floor boards (I kid you not, the concept truck has a timber floor like your living room) and throw them in the burner :o :o :o Getting back to the wheels on the Escalade they remind me of Drummerboy - don't get the tri-fuel car ! You'll end up recycling the whole of the car eventually just to keep it running !!
  3. ...and blinding as well so I heard. Didn't David Hasslehof come off his motorbike when coming out of a dark tunnel, and into the Californian sunshine ? I bet his hair was still perfect though :D
  4. Similar yes, but not sure about the Pontiac look. They were much more pointy at the front than any modern cars could ever be. Saw several 60's Pontiacs at an outdoor car meet during a recent holiday to the USA. Fantastic looking cars in the flesh in think, particularly when polished and under the California sunshine. IanB :D Doesn't everything look good under the Californian sushine ? :D
  5. Now that looks like if you put a steering wheel in the rear you'd struggle to disntguish which ends the front! Hideous! Although nobody would argue if that was coming head on!!! Do you reckon that'll be more economical than my IS ?
  6. If an import is already over here and has been registered so has a number plate then you dont have to do anything other than tell your insurance company that the cars an import. This should make little or no difference to your premium. If you are importing a vehicle fresh, like for example a brand new Integra Type R then best thing to do is get a company to do it for you. Then onces its over here the company will probably do all the paperwork etc for you. I have imported myself and the process was very very easy. I got a 95 Supra and simply got it MOT'd (only needed to fit a fog light for the mot) and then i could register it for a numberplate. That was it! - was ready for the road. If a car is under 10years old then it needs an SVA or ESVA test to make sure its ok for these roads. Much easier than most people think :winky: Thanks for the info leeky. It looks like a Honda Integra Type-R could be a future possibility. Now all I have to do is look for more info on this car. :winky:
  7. This couple go to an agricultural show way out in the countryside a fine Sunday afternoon and are watching the auctioning off of bulls. The guy selling the bulls announces the first bull to be auctioned off, "A fine specimen, this bull reproduced 60 times last year." The wife nudges her husband in the ribs and comments, "See! That was more than 5 times a month!" The second bull is to be sold, "Another fine specimen, this wonder reproduced 120 times last year." Again the wife bugs her husband, "Hey, that's some 5 times a month. What do you say to that?" Her husband is getting really annoyed with this comparison. The third bull is up for sale, "And this extraordinary specimen reproduced 365 times last year!" The wife slaps her husband on the arm and yells, "That's once a day, every day of the year! How about you?" The husband was pretty irritated by now and yells back, "Sure, once a day! Great! But, you ask the auctioneer if they were all with the same cow!"
  8. One night, as a couple lays down for bed, the husband starts rubbing his wife's arm.The wife turns over and says, "I'm sorry honey, I've got a gynaecologist appointment tomorrow and want to stay fresh." The husband rejected, turns over. A few minutes later, he rolls back over and taps his wife again. "Do you have a dentist appointment tomorrow too?"
  9. I've never heard of them. How long has your fiance been trying to sell her car ? If it ain't that long, I'd continue trying to sell it yourself for the time being as these people are going to be taking money out of the sale to finance their business.
  10. Very nice car - but it's more than likely out of my £15000 budget. Thanks for all the replies BTW. It looks like we're all stuck in Lexusland !! (not that it's a bad place to be) Leeky, I have thought about Jap imports as one place by us had a Honda Integra Type-R (the new shape) the other day. Looks quite meaty and was priced at about £18 so this'll be out of my league at the mo. Not sure on the situation with imports either, as to what's the difference between Jap Imports and "normal" and do I need to do anything to make it road legal ?
  11. Lovin' the car - not over keen on the wheels. I bet that looks tiny in the States !!
  12. Good to know I'm not alone :D Have you been on an Audi owners club site ? This is the sort of thing I've done to try and discover the good and bad points about these cars. I'm now a member of the TT owners club, and the RX-8 owners club !! :D People must think I'm mega-rich Why couldn't Audi think up a shorter name than that ? :duh:
  13. I think you're right Chris. It really is hard work to find something that falls into the same category as the Lexus. I hate to sound snobby with all this - but it really is in a class of it's own. :D Oh, and before anybody suggests it (which would be a good suggestion), I haven't got either the money or the garage space for the new IS. The IS I've got now only just fits in the garage ! Even the bloody owners club is the best I've seen !!
  14. I have been thinking about what car I can purchase next, but seem to have a problem : The car I have (an IS200, 51 plate) doesn't seem to have any faults !! I've had it for approx 1 year and 1 month, and will be thinking about trading it in late this year, but can't seem to find anything that I want to trade it in for cuz the Lexus has made me too fussy. I was looking into buying an Audi TT, but have heard too many complaints about things like dashpods going kaputt (which then cost £800 to have replaced). :o I then considered a Mazda RX-8 (thought if I stay Japanese, it can't go wrong). But boy do they drink fuel - on average you get about 22-24mpg's out of the little (but amazing) 1.3 litre engine. They ALSO have corrosion problems with their wheels, funny enough. Plus they can get leakage problems. Apart from that, the drive is supposed to be amazing. I just want something that little bit different for about £15000 max, but can't seem to find anything that compares to my Lexus. Even the bloody insurance on my Lexus is cheap compared to other cars !! :D :duh:
  15. I was quote £280 by Nationwide Autocentres about a month ago. That was the cambelt + fitting.
  16. That would be telling, Pip !! :winky: Let's just say - I'm looting a different club
  17. That's called not trusting yer garage !! I get that as well, and I take my car to same garage I've gone to for the past 10 years.
  18. I don't think they do a mobile refurbishment as they are quite a small place (as far I have seen) in Bristol. I suppose your best bet is to give 'em a ring Koshime. They could be a bigger business than I'm aware off. :winky: Either that or try what I done and ring your local Lexus garage and see if you get a dizzy blonde reception who'll give you the number of the company who does the wheel refurbishments.
  19. Aaaaa...aaaaaa.....aaaaaa........aaaaachoooooooo !!
  20. A young, red-haired woman goes to the Doctor………………. Doctor: and what can I do for you today? Red-head: well Doctor, every time I touch my body it squeaks <she demonstrates by touching her arm with her forefinger and then lets out a shriek, she touches her shoulder and then lets out a shriek, she touches her thigh and lets out a shriek> Doctor: hmmmm, interesting………… tell me, are you a natural red-head? Red-head: of course not! I am a natural blonde Doctor: ahhhhhhh, I know exactly what is wrong with you Red-head: really!!!! Doctor: you have a broken finger!
