  1. Hando

    Tte Chicane

I'm not having much luck with chicanes - that's my second one to die this year. My last one was badly buckled - but maybe I can find someone to repair it. I'd rather trust a fixed-buckled rim than a fixed-fractured rim (what a rubbish choice there).
  2. I was just prepping my 18" TTE Chicanes to go on my new car when I found this A fracture in the rim - not safe! I know it's pretty unlikely but if anyone has a spare chicane they are willing to part with for a reasonable price can you let me know? Or if anyone knows of a source that doesn't charge dealer prices please let me know. (I know they pop up on ebay now and again but they're few and far between and besides Cous3 seems to snap them all up ;) ) cheers al
  3. Invite sent m8. How you finding that overclockers' monster then? *EDIT* actually invite not sent "unable to find user Pir8pete" - must take a while to update. Add me: Handojin
  4. Woz is sending me through his walkthrough bible doc - so I should be sorted. The only thing missing from there is the sat nav bit - but hopefully the info you've given me will be enuff. Cheers for the help all. al
  5. Hi All, My new IS 300 got the Err3 yesterday (only 2 days after picking her up! ) It's eaten a few of my CD's and is making the motor gurning noise as it constantly tries to eject. This weekend I'm going to follow FatPieMan's instructions for taking the headunit apart and then reclaiming the CD's here (possibly even fixing it in the process - although I'm not too optimistic.) My question is: the instructions in his post are for a non-satnav IS. What are the different steps for removing the headunit in a navigator model? Does the satnav/air vent part of the dash just lift up or are there hidden clips/screws? Anything I have to be extra-careful of? (I'll be taping everything up cos I know the stereo has some nasty sharp metal sides that can scratch the dash) Thanks in advance hando
  6. There's a 300 LE at Lexus Hedge End too - which I went and had a look at - in case anyone is looking... HERE
  7. Yep - like I said: I'd reccommend the Halfrauds Calcium battery - you'll notice the difference.
  8. There'll be more than just a sport grill going on asap - I can assure you Anyhoo - first real driving day with the car today and it's great. Real smooth but noticeably better oomph. Only problem is - CD player went Err3 on me this evening. Two days of functioning well and then bang. Can't spare the cash for a full ICE install (all my cash is going on other mods) and besides I love the stock look - so I'm gonna try fatpieman's tip here this weekend. If anyone has an original (working) headunit kicking around though - plz let me know and I'll give you a reasonable price.
  9. Have you got the original battery from Lexus? If so they are a little bit weedy - in my old IS I had battery problems and swapped it out for a calcium jobby from Halfords (approx £75) - which was MUCH better and is a small cost to pay for peace of mind IMO. *EDIT* Halfords code for IS200 Calcium battery is HCB005 battery size is 6DA
  10. Pics as promised - but don't get excited it's totally standard. For now....
  11. Well, picked her up yesterday morning.... 2002 Granite Sky IS300 Navigator 40k miles. Completely mint. Was out washing her in the rain this morning and can confirm that she's is COMPLETELY blemish free - mint! (Last owner kept it garaged and avoided supermarket car parks like the plague) Very different driving experience from the 200 - far smoother (which I wasn't expecting) but when you want some poke - it's got it. I took some pics but they were rubbish and besides - right now it's totally stock. Next step - TTE/TRD body kit combo and get my 18" chicanes on - then off to the good Dr. for geo and lowering. Watch this (very happy) space.... PS - only one thing wrong with it: the cig lighter is missing. Bah - if only I knew some complete nutter with an unhealthy obsession and collection of cig lighters..... .... Wozza, you have PM
  12. I thought I was looking at shots from Baywatch for a second there..... Well done John and Wozza!
  13. I use CPUz to get proc info usually. And for Pentium 4's the 5xx series (like yours) were all 32bit. The 6xx series (introduced early 2005) were 64bit AFAIK.
  14. Aw gwan then - I'm no photshop pro mind - but I'll have a go over the w-e if I can.... you got PM too
  15. I'm happy to try and knock one up for you - you can pick which one you like best. You got PM....
  16. oh, allright then - if you say so... ... I'm picking it up tomorrow! Awesome!!!! So you went for it in the end then?!?!? You pleased with it then?? You better be getting some pics of it up!!! B) B) B) Yep - it's a completely mint 2002 Granite Sky IS300 navigator. Completely stock. I'll start a new thread tomorrow charting it's progress. Got lots to do to it: 18" chicanes (waiting in my shed), TRD front Lip, and side skirts, TTE rear skirt. Eibach lowering springs and new zaust - should all be going on within a few weeks.
  17. oh, allright then - if you say so... ... I'm picking it up tomorrow!
  18. That's tasty too - well done! I'm off to look at a 300 in Granite Sky this afternoon.....
  19. It's 32-bit (It's about a 3yr old cpu) HTH
  20. Settlement was in-line with Parker's/Glass' etc. so not to unhappy with that. I managed to get them to give me a bit of cash for mods too (body kit and lowering springs) which was unexpected. :D I'm going for a 300 - going to look at a few today. Here's Kodiak Sky btw for them's that don't know...
  21. Yep exactly that - only available in the LE model.
  22. 'llo, As some fo you know I'm looking to replace my recently written-off IS. My last one was black: unbeatable when clean, but clean only lasted for 5 mins. I'm looking at a couple of LE models tomorrow in Kodiak Sky and whatever I get I'll be putting TRD front lip and skirts and TTE rear on it. But I don't think I've ever seen a Kodiak Sky with a body kit on. If anyone here has one (with a TRD or TTE kit on) I'd appreciate a pic or two to help me make up my mind... TIA hando
  23. Fair enough mate! Was just thinking of ways to make the front look meaner without getting a new front bumper. I like the look of the C-West font as i think it looks awesome but dont want to get into kits if i can...........just yet! lol......... Car looks great - re: making front look meaner: Sport Grille? (still only £35 from dealer). Super-easy install and a factory part so doesn't look like you've ram-raided halfords. Changes the whole look of the front and would finish off your TRD kit nicely. I'm with Wozza on the eyelid issue - don't like 'em.
