  9. I found this site. click here A 24hr subscription and a lot of patience has landed me with the factory manuals on CD for about £10. They are in PDF format.
  10. Since they where notified as live on the 28th Nov, there seems to be a perminent 60/50 limit just after birmingham airport. Perhaps generating cash to pay for the system. The reduced speed limits and motorway signs are only as good as the muppets driving them. How many times have you slowed down for the signs to find no reason for it. If the Govt are going to use these measures then get some more people to drive them in the control centres. With all the false alarms and incorrectly switched on warning signs I tend to ignore them (except the camera types)but drive with caution. What the point of having signs that people are going to ignore. Rant over.
  11. The only problem is Prolex does not want to sell me one for some strange reason, I have sent several emails but dont get a straight answer. ←

  13. Got this feedback from the box supplier. "Here is response from manufacturer re problem. There could be two reasons for this abnormal picture. 1. The screen does not accept 50 hz vertical. If this is the cause CAR-2g would certainly fix the problem as it converts from PAL 50 input to RGB 60hz. But even that the screen should work OK with NTSC 60 input. Can you check with the customer whether NTSC input result in a good picture? 2. Microvision pulse generated by the encoder inside the CAR-3 caused the problem. This pulse has disturbed the sync capability of the screen and caused the top few lines to distortion. We have had some production batches used one particular Philip encoder which results in this distortion on the top with screens of some CAR models such as Lexus, Ford Falcon. We have since stop using that chip and replaces it with a new chip that does not generated microvision pulse. I am wondering if this sample unit come from those old batches. Can your customer tell us the serial number of the sample unit? " The unit I had was an old one, so hopefully the new one will cure the issue. Thanks everyone for the help.
  14. Did you know, lorry drivers have more restrictive working hours than low cost airlines. 0-60 time is rubbish, but once it gets up to speed 400 mph. Remember the recent freezing fog, try steering one of these onto a runway with only 300m visability doing 140 mph.
  15. Was in Electronics, then IT, jacked it all in to spend lots of money to do my hobby full time. Now fly people around for a living. Don't frequent bars much these days. :)
  16. I have been experimenting with my dvd input for sat nav, basically I get the following picture, my box of tricks converts pal or ntsc to rgb, but as you can see the top is distorted, has anyone had this problem? Does the satnav disply need NTSC RGB? Could I use a standards convertor to correct this? Help

  18. Don't really know, seen a few on ebay, not really happy about fitting it in the boot keyhole. I was hoping to get one cheapish, remove it from the case and then some how fit it in the number plate light area. That why I am interested in other models to see how the camera is hidden. Do you have any suggestions?
  19. I will be fitting a reversing camera to my is300 soon. I am interested in seeing other members camera installations so I can make my mind up. Any reverse cam pics? I am also interested in the cmera housings and how you have mounted them, whatever the model. Thanks in advance.
  20. Another option, can i fit a touch screen, but allow the factory fit satnav to run through it? I need some technical details on the sat nav kit, can anyone help?
  21. I thought this activated the alarm etc, I was thinking more of a hardwired switch on the centre console.
  22. I need to have a way of locking the car fully from the Passenger side, the missus is fed up of having to lean over to lock the car when I leave her on guard. Any suggestions on how to do this. I need to leave the keys in the ignition so she can listen to the radio. :)
  23. I am thinking of using my old laptop, it has a video output built in, runs off 12v via the car charger. I am going to use mini usb touch pad mounted in the centre console. All I need is a way of connecting the AV output to my factory satnav screen. The laptop has everything build in, compact and can be unplugged easily. The laptop is also useful due to the built in battery. Would be interested to hear how others have connected to the factory satnav screen.
  24. I have purchased a patriot gsm/gps alarm system for my is300 Alarm Specs It has 4 remote circuits. I need one of the circuits to cut the engine power. Does anyone have a suggestion as to which circuits I can cut into to allow the engine to loose power, without bringing on a engine management fault light.
