  1. I was thinking of adding a tv tuner to my IS250, Not to be viewed while driving but its nice to listen to TV programs when there nothing on the radio. I've seen this item on ebay which allows audio and video inputs. Item 220243384545 on ebay And this tuner connected to it. Ebay item 360059650833 Has anybody installed screens in the headrests? Or do you know of another system to do the same job.
  2. Gordon Brown has to pay for the mosquito nets he's giving away in foreign aid. What about using the money on or in the UK eh!
  3. Ive just traded in my is300 and have a spare prolex aux kit, open to sensible offers before it goes on ebay. Hi mate will this fit and be ok on my 2005 is200 sport? if it does how much you looking to sell it for? would be interested The instructions say it fits the is200/is300 steroes with seperate amps.

  5. There’s a stretch of concrete motorway on the way to Cleethorpes, this coupled with the Goodyear’s creates a noise that is unbearable.
  6. I had the potnezas from new not a bad tyre, changed at 35K (due to geometry being out) to goodyears g3d3's, they where noisier than the potneza and after 25k they are beginning to deform causing extreme road noise like driving on all terrain tyres Its like they are over inflated but Ive been running at 33psi. Switching back to the potenzas and sending the goodyears back to be examined. I usually get 40k from tyres a mostly drive at the speed limit on motorways. The goodyears broke down around the same mileage on the ford focus my wife has but I initially blamed this on the cars geometry.
  7. Stay well away from the goodyear gsd3's Mine have done 25k and started to feather. The geometry is fine. I complained to Goodyear and someone phoned back basically telling me these tyres are not designed for the lexus and I should have fitted the bridgestones or dunlops. My gsd3s sound like army landrover tyres, they also did this on my previous car a ford focus. I will try and get a little more wear out of them and fit bridgestones next time. BTW the goodyears are a lot more noisy on motorways and crap in the snow.
  8. try the fairy liquid masking method. Put a reasonable coat of any washing liquid on the tyre, once finished painting simply wash off with a hose pipe. BTW my multi spokes started corroding after 1 year from new, having them changed tomorrow. The centre caps corroded as well.
  9. Ive had six shocks a new upper and lower suspension arm new bottom balljoint all under warranty and still the noise persists from the front right side. I regreased and tweaked the springs on the front brakes, this caused the noise to lessen but not go away completely. The Caliper guide pins seem quite loose, is this normal, could this be the cause? Lithium soap base glycol grease any ideas where I can get this? what do you use.
  10. They look like thermal fuses the writing on them signifies the temperature at which they blow. Be very careful replacing them as a hot solding iron can blow the new ones, use a freezer spray. Hope this makes sense.
  11. Just recently my tyres have started making a funny noise, a bit like driving a landrover with offroad/military tyres on the road. Today I have noticed a funny wear pattern on the inside and outer edges of the front tyres. I am running at 33 psi all around, are my tyres failing? Help

  14. Anyway fitted the IK20's today, took 2 hrs including putting my tools away. Will try them tomorrow. If they are ok I will have a set of IK16's for sale brand new, cost me £35.
  15. Where can I get my IS300 speedo calibrated to read the actual MPH and not over reading by 10%? and how much would it cost? thanks
  16. Yes you are right, the question is why are the yanks running on IK16 (warmer plug, but removes less heat from the cylinder) and we are advised to use IK20 (Colder plug, but removes more heat from the cylinder).
  17. I am thinking of getting some more plugs for my standard IS300 but can't make my mind up. The US Denso web site suggest the IK16, yet the car is fitted with SK20R-P11, I know the 16 refers to the amount of heat the plug removes from the cylinder. So why are the US cars running around with colder plugs and the European sites suggest the use of the warmer IK20's?? When I was on Holiday I purchased some IK16's which I dont want to fit until I get to the bottom of this. Help!
  18. Try these sites, reverse cameras This one is the best this one This is one I fitted earlier here
  19. The before settings could be out because they replaced the bottom arm while trying to cure the noise problem. I will get it done porperly and send lexus sheffield the bill. Looking closely at the limits of adjustment on the printout shows that they have not even adjusted it enough to meet their own limits. Thanks for the quick response.
  20. Lexus had my car for nearly a week to solve a low pitch hollow knocking noise when going over bumps in the road. They replaced all of the suspension components on the drivers side!! but still have not cured it. They handed the car back to me saying it may be fixed and they have also set the geometry. Here is the print out my car is a Lexus IS300. Am I going to have trouble with these settings. The steering feels a bit vague.

  22. Stay away from PLUSNET they had a purge on high users recently!! Just as you describe with your current ISP.
  23. Can someone suggest what plugs to use on my standard IS300 and the best place to get them from. Thanks :D
  24. Have a look at the WIM trusted centres HERE if you had used the link posted earlier by Steve you would have found this :D Had my geometry checked at this place recommended by Mr Morse Nottingham Car 4 Wheel Alignment Ltd I went to the one in Colwick. They found my rear cambers were well out, the lexus dealer had moved the tyres which had gone Bald on the inner edges to the front pointing towards tracking. This is a car which was 13 months old, so it was set incorrectly in the factory. I had 4 new tyres fitted at the same time, not a mark on the rims :D . I would recommend these people for tyres, time will tell on the Geometry. I will post the printout when I get chance.
