  1. Hi everyone,

I was driving in to work today, when at about 9.20am - 9.30am on the A12 WESTBOUND (towards London) at about the NEWBURY PARK area I noticed this BLUE IS200 X Reg, it was lowered, had these huge Chrome wheels, and a BLACK BONNET.

There was four exhausts at the back, two on either side .... I believe it was a Chinese type guy driving it (windows were tinted)

That thing looked absolutley gorgeous ... I'm not into modifying the Lex hugely or, not at all shall I say, however the one I saw this morning was looking slick !

    Cheers !

Oh and, while i'm on that subject, I'm going to have to ask the driver / owner my self, if I ever see him/her. There is a IS200 that's always parked on GREEN LANE in ILFORD/DAGENHAM it has this one off silver / white type pearlescent paint work, who's is that ? someone !

    Thanks again !

That would be Alex (Ukazn), wheels are Chrome Vaults (18"), not sure who does the carbon bonnet. Exhaust was by PowerFlow.

  2. Just thought we should give a big thumbs up to Dave & ProLex :D , seems like we've finally got a company in Europe that is creating new products at sensible prices for the Lexus range - something the US has had for quite some time.

Anyway, big thanks to Dave & ProLex, I sense some serious wallet bashing coming with all these new products!

  3. well its starting to take on the look im wanting..........

    Bumper

almost time to start with the filler

the blank cavaties behind the bumper are now filled.......and the bumper has been shaped to match the car a little more snug

Time to get rid of the big TDi spray on the intercooler. I got stopped by the police once and they were convinced it was a turbo diesel due to the TDi badges on the side.

  4. width wise it will however from previous experience depth wise it wont, because of the stict crash regulations there are extra 'padding' under the bumper so this makes the bumbers approx and ince deeper in the wheel arch.. your best bet is to get a jap one..

was it possible to trim the extra material and get something ok or was it just too much of a problem to do this?

  5. should be going, entry form sent off about a week ago.

Dark you puting your IS in? :whistling:

yep, hope so. will see what comes back from the entry form.

before the date i need to:

    1. redo install

    2. trim in alcantara

    3. finish nitrous install

    4. add neons

    5. build engine cover

    6. redo lights

    7. new wheels (maybe)

    8. new mirrors

    9. clean!

    plus any other ideas.....

  6. When he first took the HKS sandwich plate out the bag he said, wow that looks like a very nice bit of kit....later, on closer inspection, he said that the threads on the bolts and fixtures were too loose...which he actually thought was very poor, his words were...thats just unacceptable I would never dream of selling something that substandard!! So it proves you don't always get what you think your getting for your money!! ;)

I'm a bit concerned about this and would like to know more please

Course threads normally have a "loose" feel to them especialy when the material is aluminium which has a nasty habit of seizing when coupled together.

If there is excessive "play" on the HKS sandwich plate out of the box then it should be returned to the vendor for checking.

If the kit works out to be around £300 and you are working to a budget then go for it, but don't tell me it's the same quality as the top stuff.

BTW, the way the pipes have been installed is a time bomb waiting to go off. The metal braiding WILL saw through the peripheral components that they are rubbing against :o

    Mark,

I'll let you see the sandwich plate when I'm next in. I got it only as a means to move the project on if the company (trading for 37 years BTW) could not do the sandwich plate.

The pics posted were during the trial fitment and more will be posted now Neil is fully recovered and driving round with it fitted.

When I asked them to do me a kit I didnt say I want it for £x I just said I want an oil cooler kit for an IS200. They did the work came back with a price I then decided if it was competitive or not........If they'd have come back with a £400 ish price I would not have bothered and taken the loss on one of my chins .

Duncan ---- Kieran is getting a kit and he has a oil temp guage I'll ask him what the readinfs are post fitment. Interstingly he got a drop in temp just from fitting a TRD c/f grill !!

In the summer I've been getting around 105 - 110, on a motorway drive to Silverstone 3 weeks ago it set around 95 - 100 all the way, after the TRD grille it was more like 80 - 85 (same weather), still hot in traffic and hot weather though (105 - 110). Hoping the oil cooler will drop back to a sensible 80 - 85.

  7. never realy lookied into it but i think maybe i might pass up the offer now.

Unless they can just fit me a direct purge kit for the shows and fill the bottle with co2 instead of nos. hahaha

i think with my style of drivin nos might be a bad thing but if i do its gonna be progressive controllers all the way

Is your car supercharged? If so you could go for the NX intercooler spray + purge, its cheap and you've then got the bottle and lots of other things in place, then later get the Wizards of NOS solenoids and progressive controller, etc..

  8. Ken, count me in for the food  B)

Added you to the list Steve ;)

Ruskie and Dark is200 are you meeting up for brekkie?

Don't think i'll make it up in time for breakfast, would mean too early a start for me. I'll try to get to breakfast but probably end up seeing you all at the event.

  9. Nemesis Performance

These are the guys that I was referring to in the post about the new stainless steel manifold for the IS200. I believe they are still looking for a guinea pig for this, speak to Alan if you're interested. One of their directors has a supercharged IS200 - not sure if he's a club member tho.

The IS200 they are doing will be powered by a Tomei built race engine, based on the S14 from the 200 SX. I doubt it will develop as much power as Mat's 2JZ-GTE lump.

And like Mat said at least it's made by Toyota!

PS. Any news on the IS430???!!! :D  :P :ph34r:

Does anyone know if this project is finished or is close yet? Sounds like an interesting project and should be a lot easier to do than the monster.

It would be nice if the pair of them could get to JAE this year - that would cheer up the LOC stand somewhat :D

Yes, I was speaking to the guy from Nemesis that was doing the conversion. It was up and running but they S14 engine was too high and would have meant changing the bonnet when they wanted to keep the standard lines. They have therefore removed the S14 engine and are halfway through putting an RX7 engine in its place.
