  1. Just got my tracking done, seems much better now (before was miles out). Well worth getting done - I'm not going to bother with the bushes now since the problem _seems_ better. I went to Elite in Rainham, cost was about 50. Quick to do but a long wait (2 hours) before they started the work.

  2. Just ordered Dave Ellens TRD bushes, do you me to order some for you Keiran?

not at the moment, going to wait for a few months before i change them. i'll let you know when i get round to changing. i'm going to get the tracking done first to see if it fixes the current problems.

  3. seems wierd, I have the same setup and the same mileage, mine has the bushes as well but the whole set up is solid as a rock, i can't believe that the only difference is the bushes - have you had it into TDI to let them look over it?

it was serviced at TDI about 6 weeks ago, everything looked ok in the suspension department. the problem has been around for about 5 months but they couldn't see anything wrong - nothing loose etc... could just be that it needs its tracking done, not sure if that could be the cause.

  4. How about your anti-roll bars Kieran?

I don't think you have replaced yours yet have you??

All those that have done this mod rave about it.

Cost is not that expensive and fitting it fairly easy.

Already got the roll bars done, these are the suspension mods on the car:

    Cusco Strut Braces

    HKS AntiRoll Bars

    HKS HiperDampers

I've got the Cusco lower arm bars but not had them fitted yet, the car has got very squishy and rolly even with all this - it used to be very firm and taut but not anymore, guessing the bushes have gone. The car has only done 23,000 miles but 20,000 of them have been with the dampers, rollbars etc. so I'm not too surprised if the bushes have been worn a lot.

  5. The handling on my car has got quite "floaty", seems to be worn bushes since everything else checks out ok. Any suggestions on which ones to get changed? This is the full list:

1 Front Lower Wishbone Bush (No1 Front)

2 Front Lower Wishbone Bush (No2 Rear)

3 Front Lower Wishbone Bush (No1 Front Support)

4 Rear Upper Wishbone Bush (No1 Inner)

5 Rear Upper Wishbone Bush (No2 Inner)

6 Rear Lower Control Arm (No1 Inner)

7 Rear Lower Control Arm (No2 Inner)

8 Rear Toe Control Arm (Inner)

9 Rear Toe Control Arm (Inner Support)

10 Rear Lower Control Arm (No1 Outer)

    11 Differential (Front)

    12 Differential (L/H Rear)

    13 Differential (R/H Rear)

    14 Differential (Front Support)

    15 Rear Subframe (Front)

    16 Rear Subframe (Rear)

    17 Rear Subframe (Front Support)

  6. SOunds Like a great day out. THis whole rolling road thing seems to raise one simple point. THe only figure a rolling road can accurately produce is the BHP at the wheels. The only figure that really matters in terms of how quick you go is the BHP at the wheels, again. So why does nobody quote the bhp at the Wheels. It must be in the Dyno read out cos its the basis of any calculation.

    C'mon Guys,

fess up. whats are you actually commiting to tarmac in terms of usable bhp? I know none of you would be afraid to say... :whistling:

The Americans always quote power at the wheels, highest IS at the moment, 683HP (at the wheels) ~ 777HP (at the crank)

  7. bugger that, i will get the parts required and re jig it........

    so

    roof panel (no sunroof)

    a pillar

    bulkhead(hmmmmmm......chassis number, hmmm)

    RHD power steering rack

    RHD dash

    pedal box

    wing

    bonnet

    will have for sale........interior

    radio

    aircon

and a few other choice parts

i am actually looking for another shell to work with :crybaby:

new windscreen wiper (it seems to have a maxpower style single wiper conversion at the moment! - probably during the accident i guess)

  8. if it isn't going to sleep in the bedroom on a perm basis I really wouldnt have it in the bedroom at all, once it is used to the creature comforts it will whine to get back in, best bet is to let the pup sleep where it will permanently sleep....

It'll cry like a baby or a few nights but the worst thing you can do is give into it, have you hany kids ?Always after attention :) Be strict from the start (not easy with a puppy) and it will become a great puppy, spoil it from the start and it'll be a mare as it will rule the roost. It was always the hardest thng for me as I'm daft as a brush when it comes to puppies but i know what they turn out lie if you poi them. I always found the hardest part training the girlfriend not the dog as soon as the puppy entered the house.

    Good advice.....

Be really strict at first & the house trainging thing will be a breeze.....

Mine are both well behaved & I was Mr Nasty when they were young...Mr Softy now though.....

There a big Pet superstore over the river in Charlton where you can get everything........5 mins from Blackwall tunnel

any idea what the petshop is called? this sounds ideal since its pretty close to me

  9. Isn't that an overgornw rat :D :D :D

Seriously though pup's are more work than most people ecpect if it's your first one although pedigree'sd tend to be less work thorugh experience (dalamtians and huskys from pups).

Get ready for some sleepless nights unless you'll allow him/het to sleep in the same room (mine always slept on our bed) and make sure you get him chipped once the final jabs have been had (not a requirement but piece of mind).

Passport for pets is excellent if you go to france/europe so you can travel witht them if need be although timing is very strict on the shots......

Personally always found Iam's the best dry food, not the cheapest but less mess and healthier pup so better all round....

girlfriends choice of dog! although feel it could be good for meeting women when i'm walking (carrying?) it!

sleeping in the bedroom for the first week or two, hope its not too noisy since i'm really busy at work at the moment (12-14 hours a day)

  10. that's a turbo'd Beams (3sge) lump... surely if that's swapped into an IS300 that's the long way round of doing it... (instead of starting with an Altezza) :)

I think a twincharged, separate throttlebodied, big cam'd, GT35R Turbo'd, fat intercooler'd 3sgte would be the one to go for meself.... :)

*starts making imaginary shopping list and shaking piggy bank upside down*

i believe it is a show car in the US so being original is more important than doing something sensible (i.e. just turbocharging the 2Z-GE).

one of the US magzines I get (think it was turbo & high-tech performance) did an article on a project car that they built which was a twin-charged MR2.
