Does anybody know who actually makes the sat nav system & screens for lexus???

Hi all, Like all of you I expect...I love my Is200 but have always been bit dissapointed by its lack of power, so I decided that as soon as the Is300 was out I was going to chop in my 200 & get a 300. So recently test drove the Is300 expecting it to be my car with extra power. Took it out & to be really honest was totally dissapointed! I have to admit it handled better round bends, but that is easily rectified on mine with ani roll bars etc.. but what really dissapointed me was that although it is meant to be quicker.. I couldnt feel it + it doesnt seem to rev as freely & you dont have the control that you do with the sport!! I had an Is200se (auto) prior to my sport & it just felt like that but with a few extra bits like dimming rear view & curtain airbags! In fact my car had special full soft leather put into it which is loads better than the full leather that comes in the 300! So Im keeping my sport & Going to supercharge it...that is if I can find anybody in the uk that can actually get hold of it for me! :( I know tte make it but it says get it from your dealer & nobody wants to know!!

Cheers I'll give the other ideas a go! at first my local dealer said that the part couldnt be ordered. so I said to him'are you telling me that if I had the orig system in here & someone broke into my car & stole it..then you wouldnt be able to replace the part?' he said' well I dont know it's never happened?' They are a reasonable dealer, but like you said sometimes they just cant be bothered unless your buying a car!! He said a week ago he'll look into it!! : )

Hi all, Ive been gagging to get the tte compressor for my sport for months now & whenever i go to a lexus or toyota dealer they havent got a clue! As you all prob know on their web site it says'available through your toyota dealer'. It seems like a lot of you have it so where did you get it? How much is it? & is it good? Im sick of astra Gte boy racers burning up my arse & me pretending that I cant be bothered to race them!

Ive got an IS200Sport which is a Yreg & is about a yr old, anybody know if mine is too new to claim for this? Within a week of getting it I went back to my dealer & said 'whenever I try to put it in 2nd it makes a bit of a crunching sound & sometimes wont go in' his reply was 'This is characteristic of the car, they all do that dont worry about it!!!' I really am glad that i've found this site because their is so much I wanted to know about my car & I'm finding pretty much all of the answers!!!

I bought my car as a 6month old ex demo & it didnt have sat nav. So after trying to get one fitted at lexus they told me lexus wont do it unless you order it from new!! What!!!! Anyway got a VdoDayton system fitted which is great apart from one thing..There is nowhere to fit the screen without it getting in the way. Ive tried to get the orig mounting from lex but they are about as much help as a chocolate teacosy! Anybody else had the same prob & come up with a soloution??
