  1. Stitcher, Your motor looks neat in your photo - you got any more to look at in the gallery or elsewhere?
  2. Are we using the ones supplied above, or modding them in any way? Or we could 'run what we brung', I suppose. Or would you (Admin, etc.) prefer we all use the same one? Is everyones formatting of this one webpage all to *****? :?: Oooh. It's gone now. Weird.:( [Edited on 11-6-2002 by Grangey] Now it's back :o [Edited on 11-6-2002 by Grangey]
  3. Oooh............. Don't ............... I was a schoolboy back then ...............:P
  4. I like the sound of the flameproof and explosion proof ones!! Really useful...... :D [Edited on 9-6-2002 by Grangey]
  5. That would be good - let me have an idea of cost, too? Hope it goes OK for you.......
  6. I searched on 'horns' (or was it horny :D) and found nothing. I'll search on username. Thanks. Keep posting replies, guys? :bounce:
  7. But then you'd need the whole of the bumper spraying to get it to match, right? My Probe had a similar arrangement, with the plastic framework behind the plate, but this was held on with just two screws. I removed this and used double-sided Scotch tape (it lasted 5 years!) to stick the plates on with. I was hoping it would be as easy this time!!
  8. Anyone come across a decent sounding replacement horn for the IS200? A stupid w*man nearly backed into me on the forecourt today (you know the movement - that pump looks prettier than this one, I'll just hit reverse (AND I'm not being sexist!!)), and I was embarassed at the 'noise' that came from the stock horns that're fitted! I don't use them that often, but I'd probably prefer to wind the window down and shout next time!! Oh, bring back airhorns.............. Wait a mo, they may still be in the loft!:tumble:
  9. My plate's personalised, and the letters don't take a lot of room up. I took off the plate, with the intention of removing the black plastic bracket and screwing the (shortened) number plate directly to the bumper - it looks distinctive. When I took off the bracket, there were two big holes in the bumper where the bracket clips into it - sometimes these Lexus are just TOO damn well made!!
  10. How about A13 XUS (A l3XUS) from http://www.a-car-registrations-website.co.uk for 6 grand?
  11. This sounds more serious, I'm afraid. The only way to solve this is surgery. In this procedure, the keys to your car are surgically removed from your other half's hand. Or you could have the CD slot stapled - this is only done in the most serious of cases, and on the recommendation of you doctor. Your problem sounds serious enough, though..........:)
  12. >>>>My cd player seems to favour ozzy osbourne....... ;) [Edited on 8-6-2002 by Grangey]
  13. >>>>I like the MP3 player. Must be a bit tricky to see the screen though. Now if the video could be rigged to the sat nav display, then I'm sold. Cleaner than cake too. :D [Edited on 8-6-2002 by Grangey]

  15. Was looking at the rear of the car today (thinking of an aftermarket reverse sensor I read about) and, when I had the boot open and up, I noticed a small bulge between the two number plate lights. It was directly under the lock. Looking closer, there appeared to be a couple of small holes in it. Any idea what it is? I checked the handbook, but couldn't see anything. Ta!!
  16. Nope. Can't spot the Lexus in the Fashion TV clip. Or am I missing something ;) Gold TeamLexus sticker looks REALLY cool in the middle of the rear window. Personally, I put the round green one top of the windscreen on the drivers side - helps to spot another member coming the other way?
  17. I have a 40 gig hard drive in my player, with about 7 gig used - I have about 100 CD's on there! I usually rip at 128 bits, but even at 192 bits, I can't see you filling the disk up. 128 bits is CD quality and it's hard to tell the difference between MP3 and CD, especially whilst driving. You get Artist, Album and Track information, too. Oh, and I have no financial interest in these players, but as the first 'consumer' of them in the UK, I would like to see them take off.
  18. Hope you don't mind me jumping in, but I have recently fitted a dedicated MP3 player to the car. Follow the link below to read a review, and feel free to get in touch for further information. Paul
  19. Would you bother with caliper paint, as mentioned in another thread? I think that Halfords sell it. Others mentioned something like Hammerite. What would you use as the clear gloss? I'd welcome suggestions as to colour of caliper/sticker on my Kensington green model :D
  20. Try www.esure.co.uk. The renewal for my Probe was over £1000, Elephant wanted £670 and eSure did it for £530. When I swapped to the IS200 (worth about £15,000 more!!), they gave me another £100 off! Oh, if you were named on your husbands insurance, you should be able to get 5 years no claims bonus, or 3 years when you take into account the vandalism.
  21. So does that mean it's finished now? Wow, that means I won!!
  22. I got it, thanks. I needed a permanent live to retain memory on an MP3 player. It also has a switched live from the ignition, too. I wanted to have a go this weekend as the MP3 player wasn't acting correctly and they are starting to be sold this week. Don't know much about electrics, but I took a feed off the boot interior light and put a 3 amp in-line fuse on it - seems to work OK. Please feel free to say if there is any reason I SHOULDN'T be using this feed! Thanks again.
