  1. I was watching Eastenders yesterday and I noticed during the episode the character Jack Branning who used to drive a C Class Dark Grey Mercedes has now got a Dark Grey Lexus IS 250 or 220, it was during the scene outside the Queen Vic where he’s taking out a push chair for Roxy, I caught him opening the boot and although I didn’t see the L badge I am 99.9% sure it was an IS (I could tell from the rear lights and rear quarter panel) I know the character Johny Allen used to drive a black LS 430 so there you are.
  2. Although I am very happy with my motor at present, at some time during the next 2-3 years I would like to purchase an Ultrasonic Blue IS F, unless Lexus decide to launch the Blue colour in the UK in the next 2+ years, I will have no other choice but to look at importing one from Japan. Correct me if I’m wrong, but my understanding is the steering wheel on Japanese cars is on the same side as here in the UK and the only change I would need to make is the Language CD for the Sat/Nav etc. I want to begin my research into this now so when I am in a position to purchase, I have all the info I need. Therefore, can anyone provide examples of good, reputable importers for Lexus IS F from Japan? Also if there is any other advice or info you can provide on importing from Japan, would all help me Thanks
  3. I'll have to double check, but I believe I have the OEM Yellow fog lights themselves. ????
  4. Quick question. I have been meaning to do this for a while now, but not got around to it, I was hoping for guidance, on my IS 300 the Head Lights are Ice White HID but the fog lights are yellow and it looks odd, does anyone know where I can buy some Ice White HID fog lights for the IS 300? And how much they will cost to buy and fit etc? As always thanks for your help.
  5. Thank you to you all for sharing your thoughts, opinions and expertise on this subject. Well I have an update for you and I thought you would want to know the outcome, so here goes… After I took the my car in and had it diagnosed the error code pointed to a faulty Oxygen Sensor, which was replaced and then shortly after, the MIL re-appeared, after taking it back for another diagnostics they said the only other option is to replace the ECU, after replacing the ECU the light was still on, so I can imagine a lot of head scratching going on. This meant keeping the car in longer and they advised maybe the oxygen sensor they replaced was a faulty part, so they ordered another oxygen sensor and replaced it and the light disappeared, problem solved. I’ve had the car back for a week or so now, and ‘touch wood’ the light has stayed off. Although it took a considerable amount of time and trips back and fourth to the dealership, overall I am pleased, the problem is solved and very pleased it was covered under extended warranty, because after seeing the invoice they will be sending to Head Office for the work done I can assure it was not cheap! I am happy and not sure if anyone can assist but the car is driving and feeling a lot better, better throttle response and sharpness. I’m not sure if that was due to a new ECU because it feels slightly more powerful? Any thoughts????? I would like to Say A BIG THANK YOU to everyone at LEXUS WOLVERHAMPTON FOR their assistance and support, it is very much appreciated.
  6. The only 'F Sport' badge I know about is one given free from Lexus Westminster in the States when you buy any of the F Sport items from them. It's plastic and self adhesive. That is wicked man, I want one. no I need one, how can I buy one???? Not more 'badge engineering'? Anyway, I thought you owned an IS300? I know what you mean. The thing is, I am trying to find out if any F parts will fit my IS 300, as crazy as it sounds I have told to investigate the Air Filter option as that may go onto a an IS 200/300 but not sure. IF and only IF my IS 300 can have F parts fitted to it then I can say it is ‘F Sport Equipped’ if not then the badge WILL NOT go on. Trust me, I am not one of those people who will drive around in a IS 220D with F badges on it, no way not happening!!!!!
  7. The only 'F Sport' badge I know about is one given free from Lexus Westminster in the States when you buy any of the F Sport items from them. It's plastic and self adhesive. That is wicked man, I want one. no I need one, how can I buy one????
  8. Does anyone know where I can purchase an F Sport badge, please note it’s not the IS F F badge but the Lexus F Sport accessories badge. Please see link below as to what it looks like, I have tried the dealerships, ebay etc and no joy. http://www.lexus.com/models/IS/f-sport/ As always your help is appreciated.
  9. Lexus are supposed to be not just competing with BMW and Merc but they are pushing towards Bentley territorty ever so so slightly well more than BMW and Merc. Anyway, you need the car back like you gave it (no damage) so whatever it costs or takes the dealer MUST replace all damaged parts AT NO COST TO YOU, this type of thing p***es me right off. Get it sorted ASAP and let us know how you get on. We are all here to support you!!
  10. Thanks to you all for your feedback and help, really appreciated. Ok, this is the situation now, they want me to take my car back to the dealer so they can take photos and provide evidence to Head Office of the fault with the ECU so that it can be hopefully covered and replaced under warranty. From some of your comments you reckon its not the ECU?
  11. Ok so I took the car to the dealership and they said the Oxygen Sensor, bank 1 sensor 1 needed replacing which they did and the MIL light turned off, however 10 mins into my journey back from the dealership and the MIL light has come back on again. The dealership now says it might be the ECU that needs replacing. When I picked my car up from the dealership ok it was just pass closing but still no paperwork and they have not told me what code reading has appeared, not sure what anyone else thinks but I’m beginning to question this dealership in terms of their competency, I will give you the big picture later as that’s another story. What do you think oh, is the ECU covered under warranty? I have been told it is.
  12. Well to start with I don't believe you can use the OEM panels as most everything is different between them. Not just some body panels but some the inner structure is different. However, I believe a Korean Company has produced IS-F look-alike panels for the ISX250, complete with the non connected quad outlets on the rear bumper panel. Here you go: http://myride.co.kr/goods/bbt02.html Wow! Lovin the neons in the front wing air intakes... The main issue IMO is the performance gulf- a 330Ci sport is near as dammit as quick as an M3 (and are both straight 6), whereas an IS250 vs ISF... IS 250 vs IS F - No Contest!
  13. Like most have said before me unfortunately it’s finished, this is a common problem and to get it repaired will cost way too much. Does anybody know if Lexus managed to fix this problem on the later IS 200/300 models?
  14. After the launch of the latest GS, LS range the IS F and what we see as an LF A, I thought yes truly good design pieces and I was looking forward to what Lexus would do next, maybe a new SC range, couldn’t wait to see what the IS Convertible would like and early concept shots of the new RX looked very nice to, it seemed to have that aggressive stance and look about it and also the wide wheels. Then came the launch of the new IS Convertible and I thought hang on what is going on here it doesn’t look that good, from some angles yes others not sure and then other anglers make look not very nice at all, wheels, TOO SMALL! NOT WIDE ENOUGH, then the RX which is the plain and simple ugly and following the ugly trend they launch the HS – what is going on??? I have run out of time now but I will give you (Lexus) some design tips when I next post because looking at your last 3 launchers you need it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. A faulty sensor or loose Petrol Cap I can handle but a very serious problem, please don't say that. As I mentioned before it's done 46,000k Full Lexus Service History, last service done a couple of months a go, I've had the car for about 8 months and in those 8 months I've done about just under 5,000k miles, so I hope its not a amajor problem. I had my IS 200 for over 40,000k driving and the light never came on there. I am stressed!
  16. Does anybody now if a prblem linked to to Malfunction Indicator light coming on is covered by Mfr/Extended Warranty?
  17. I do not like the design and the front gril is horrible, looks like the Honda Civic front which IMO is ugly!
  18. Thanks for the help as always really appreciated. I’m just so bemused because the car appears to be running fine, it’s only done 46,000 and has full Lexus Service History, in fact the last service was done a couple of months ago. I hope it’s nothing major
  19. I have an 2002 IS 300 Sport and I was driving into work this morning as normal, everything running as normal when all of a sudden whilst on the motorway this amber light comes on above the fuel gauge. I looked in the manual and it basically says If this light comes on Take to Lexus Dealer, when I read abit further this is a Malfunction Indication Lamp. I drove into work as normal and the car appears to be running fine so I am a little concerned as to what this could be? I am already thinking about how much this is going to cost, I do still have Lexus Warranty so whatever the problem, would it be covered under warranty? Can anyone please help and hopefully put my mind at ease? Thank you.
  20. Can I just check my understanding, are you saying I could now go to a Lexus dealer in the UK and get an IS F in Ultrasonic Blue?
  21. I was hoping someone could help. How can I watch HBO here in the UK, to my knowledge I can’t watch it through Sky or Virgin Media Cable so I would guess the only other option is via Internet? When I try and register on their web-site I seem to hit a brick wall as all the question fields are aimed at US residents, such as Zip Code etc. If anyone knows how I can get to watch HBO in the UK that would be fantastic, it is for the Sports mainly Boxing. Thank you very much.
  22. I would go for the IS 200. Before I bought my IS 200, I test drove an Audi A4, BMW 325i, Alfa, Merc and an Altezza, when I think back there is a massive difference IMO between the IS and Altezza, go for an IS.
  23. 'Lightning Fast Automobile' LOL. I think it's got something to do with their L-Finesse design approach, but surely now the F has to reprsent the F margue like the IS F, infact this has to be the F Flagship.
  24. Good news Lexus have filled for Trademark/Patent for the LFA, no more LF-A its now the LFA.
  25. I assume you mean that the edge of the wheel should stand proud of the arch, since that is the only direction it could be 'wider' and not strike the arch itself. But that would be illegal - so hardly the epitome of good design! No, what I mean is where the wheel sits ‘nicely’ under the arch and not where you have a lot of over-hang Similar to the picture links below where you have that wide wheel and very little arch over-hang http://z.about.com/d/cars/1/0/A/z/rs6avant_rear1.jpg http://blogs.cars.com/photos/uncategorized/x5rear.jpg http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-2006/200...R-1600x1200.jpg
