Hi everyone. I’m new here. Bought a Lexus NX300h Sport (2015) a few months ago. Everything was great. But after a friend borrowed the car (And possibly fiddled about!) I now can’t get the tailgate / boot to open. Fob doesn’t work. Press and hold results in two beeps but no opening. Ditto the interior button - two beeps but no activity in the tailgate. It’s driving me mad trying to work out how to fix. Any clues? THANKYOU.

The plastic part of my ignition key has broken, unfortunately the part carrying the metal stem. I bought a complete new key blank from Timpsons but they are unable to machine the stem and I can't swap the new and old stems because they are cast into the plastic. Does anyone know of someone who can machine the stem? I know from an earlier enquiry that Lexus dealers will only sell you a complete lockset for the whole car at a silly price.

Hi all, I introduced myself in the noobies section but thought I'd add something here as well. I've just bought a 2004 (53) LS430 for £4400 with 91k miles in blue. Initial opinion is good although it has its problems. Have done just over 1000miles over the last 2 weeks (Wickford to Crawley 3 days per week) and so far am loving the car. I came from a '98 Honda Legend with unknown mileage and shabby paint, but it was cheap (£900) and did me for 2 years/40k miles. Prior to that had an S320CDI for 2 years that was horribly unreliable, another Legend (120k miles over 10 years) and a couple of Carltons. I need a bigger car as am 6'4" and 27stone. The LS gets about the same fuel economy as the Legends but with 70 more Bhp and better comfort. The S got over 40Mpg but the turbo lag sucked and the reliability was utter *******, however the comfort was the best ever, with the LS a close 2nd. I have a few problems on the LS to sort over the coming months. It needs bank2 sensor1 replacing (heater is duff), the rear left door doesn't lock unless I double lock the car, and there are small rust patches above the windscreen and on the left front door. Otherwise she is in pretty good nick and everything seems to work fine. Have also ordered a Techstream kit so I can change some settings to my liking and will keep you up to date on my progress. Looking forward to owning this one for a while and hoping she will be reliable and fun. Cheers, George

Good afternoon Lexus Owners, I am facing problems with my Lexus IS250 (2006MY) and I was wandering if any of you will be able to help me. Since nobody so far was able to give me a guide. The problem is that when I am trying to unlock my car (by using the fob or the key less entry feature) only the driver door is unlocking. I am aware of the feature were it can be set up in a certain way but I have done it and re-done it without any success, hence I do believe it is a system fault or something like that. Also the car battery and the fobs batteries have been changed wishing for a success. Thank you in advance. Have a nice day.

I've nearly always unlocked the boot on my IS300 by pressing the button on the key rather than inserting the key in the lock. Recently there has been a steadily increasing delay before the lock responds, which I assume may be because the key fob battery is becoming flat. My problem is that when I insert the key in the boot barrel, the latter will not turn. I've tried lubricating it to no avail. Any ideas, please? I want to ensure that I can unlock the boot if the fob battery fails completely.

Whenever I got something like shopping out of the back of our RX450h I always found it a bit of a nuisance having to either get the key out of my pocket to lock the car or to walk round to either of the front doors to lock using the indent on the door handle. Some might call me lazy! However, yesterday I discovered that there is a very small button under the rear hatch handle on the right hand side which if you press it upwards once will lock the car and if you press it twice will double lock the car. Still discovering little things after 2 years of ownership! JBP

Hi all, I have an IS220d, manual gearbox, 2007 model. Recently my door locks started to play up. Here is what happens: I walk up to my car, try to unlock doors by touching drivers handle, I can hear all 4 doors try to unlock, but only the drivers door unlocks. Same thing happens from the keyfob, press unlock and only the drivers door unlocks. To open the passenger door and rear doors, I have to get into the car and flip the relevant lock, which is a major pain when several people want to get in. Once inside, the drivers door has a switch to lock all doors and unlock them. This is playing up too. I press it, and only the drivers door locks/unlocks. Tried the keyfob inside the car, only the drivers door locks/unlocks. I have seen several threads with this issue: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/76283-unlock-all-doors-instead-of-just-drivers/ http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/77662-is220d-door-locking-problems http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/73417-2008-is220d-central-locking-problem/ And I had a good read through this: http://drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/document/om/OM53587U/pdf/sec_01-02.pdf I have tried pressing both lock/unlock button on the keyfob for 10 second, and the little LCD on the dash shows that all doors should unlock. But the issue still persists. Does anyone have a definitive answer or some insight on what I can do to fix this. I just want all the doors to open/lock simultaneously. Thanks.

Hello and Merry Christmas to every one. After being diagnosed with terminal cancer I decided to have some fun and am now the very proud owner of a perfect 1997 R reg LS400. 111,000 miles on the clock (which people tell me is just run in) only two previous owners, full service history and almost perfect in every way (I hope.....), It is, by far, the best and poshest car I have ever owned and consiquentially have got a couple of really dimbo questions. It didn't have a manual and after asking the very unhelpful sales staff at the local dealership and looking on ebay for one I decided to come to you guy's for help. (what is it about manuals, did they only produce one per year or something??). Anyway, the questions are: How do you use the cruise control? (after not having one before are there any things I have to be careful of?). And, what is the lock for between the bonnet and petrol filler release , It says " push to lock" on it and has a key hole. I can only imagine it is a security function but am a bit foxed. I really would appreciate some help, cause it's a shame to be such a thicky in my beautiful motor. Yours, manchestermike
