  2. Hid Fitted For £30

Had HID's in my car for ages. Same 6000k as mentioned above. Went through it's MOT 2 weeks ago without any problem. The law states that they must have automatic leveling and headlight washers. So technically they should fail an MOT as we only have manual headlight leveling, but I've had HID's in cars for years and not one MOT station has failed my cars.
  3. Sat Nav Aftermarket Gps Build

Thanks Matt, I'll have a scout about. My TomTom Start 60 auto powers on when it gets power from the cig lighter
  4. Sat Nav Aftermarket Gps Build

Same with me Matt. My IS200 is my second car. (Got an Audi A6). I am trying to figure out my battery problem. Got ERR3 so bought a nice Sony double din and the amp bypass cable. If I drive the car every day, its fine. Leave it for 3 days and the battery is flat. I do notice that the clock stays illuminated all the time after the install. Disconnect the bypass cable when I'm not using the car and the battery is fine???? Once I get this sorted out, I can confidently wire up the Sat-Nav
  5. Sat Nav Aftermarket Gps Build

Well done Matt, Following this with interest as I am starting on the same project, except I have a TomTom Start60 to go in. Just figured out the wiring from another forum.
  6. No Stereo Just Big Hole

    I have this in my car - Works a treat - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251294537965
  7. Best Place To Sell?

I've sold loads of cars on eBay. Never had a problem
  8. Forget the diesel. Agricultural gearbox, 6th gear completely useless. Noisy engine sounds like a London cab. I know, I had one. Direct from Lexus with 40k and full dealer history. Dreadful. IS250 Auto is a much better car for the low miles you do.
  9. Help Required

Sorry no. Mycarcheck does not have any details. This suggests the car does not exist anymore and the registration has never been reassigned.
  10. Help Required

    No longer exists
  11. Is300 Rear Shock

    ^^^^^^^^^^ What he said http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Lexus_IS_3.0_2003/p/car-parts/suspension-and-steering/suspension/shock-absorber/?635820032&1&accee8de7101b988766a5632fcdfb509ed2a2a0d&000925
  12. Hi Rob and welcome to LOC. The questions you raise have been asked and answered many times on here. CD Player, double din is what you are after although a single din can fit. You buy an Auto Leads fascia adapter and possibly a amp bypass cable depending on which model of IS200 you have. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Autoleads-FP-25-00-Lexus-IS200-2001-04-Single-Double-Din-Car-Stereo-Fascia-Panel-/171057178044?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27d3cd65bc Wind deflectors will fit IS300 gets Xenons as standard and auto dimming rear view mirror plus some other bits. Have a go with the search facility.
  13. Wiper Blades? Best Ones?

I have Bosch Aero Twin flat blades on the car for the last 9,000 miles. They have been great.

  15. Lexus Dealers

Premium brand dealers have sales targets. They choose their words carefully which insinuates there is an issue requiring attention. They understand the demographic of their customers and that many dont really know a lot about cars. They prey on this and make money selling them parts they dont really need. A couple of easy examples. 1. They will tell you your brake pads and or discs are worn and stop there. They dont tell you how many mm is on a new item and what the current part is worn to. This way, the customer usually instructs them to attend to it. 2. Tyres - the service adviser told me that there was an issue with my front tyres that needed attention with a tone of real concern in his voice. When I called him he said that my front tyres only had 4.5mm left on them. Knowing that a new tyre has 7 - 8 mm I questioned why this was a problem. He told me that 4.5mm was "not very much". After many conversations with the service manager he never gave me any real answer why the adviser had suggested that my tyres at 4.5mm needed attention. Once I spoke with trading standards about the dealer trying to mis-sell items not required, all of a sudden the Dealership principal was on the phone offering sincere apology's. If I choose to use that dealer again, he said I was to call him directly to arrange any servicing etc.
