  1. Hi Everyone and many thanks for all the ideas. I have tried accessing the LAN monitor through this and arrive at a series of (presumably) fault codes in the format 01-D6-E9-2 and 01-E3-50-5 and 01-E1-119-93-4 and so on. There are 9 of them. Can anyone help. These do not seem to coorrespond with normal DTC codes. Any ideas anyone Many Thanks Trevor
  2. Hi Just bought the touch up brush set from Lexus/Toyota. Wanted Palladio Silver but they provided 1F2 Mercury Metallic. Just in case this info is any use to anyone this seems to be the nearest match they now make Trevor
  3. Hi I have a 2005 LS 430 Just had to drive across rough road, due to diversion, (with suspension set on high) and shortly after the "Check VSC", "TRC off" and engine warning light came on. No loss of power, just drives as normal. Is this a coincidence or something more sinister? Have checked petrol cap, oil and water levels and all seem OK Any ideas, experience, or suggestions would be most welcome Trevor
  4. Hi Can anyone help. Have a 2005/6 Lexus LS 430. Great car but radio reception is terrible. Lots of fading signals, hissing and crackling. It sounds like the signal from the aerial (understand this is in rear window) is not getting to radio. Can anyone tell me which way the signal goes and where/what are the various components between the aerial and the radio. In other cars I have had there is a coaxial cable between the aerial and the radio. This does not seem to be the case in this car. I have the repair manual but not sure it helps. If anyone knows of a really good car audio company near Bromley, Kent, I would like to hear from them. If anyone has anything to contribute no matter how small I should be very grateful Trevor
  5. Hi Malcolm. I have a 2005 Lexus LS430 with repeated brake judder problems that my own garage don't seem to cure (even though I know they try hard). I live in Kent (just) Could you please let me have the name of the garage near Margate you suggest in your texts All the Best Trevor
  6. Thanks again Steve, and everyone with ideas on this forum. I used the self diagnosis technique shown on some of these pages and it suggested a fault No 11 (which is either an open or short circuit on the room temperature sensor) I removed the sensor cover to find a loose connection, which when repaired seems to have solved the problem, at a cost of £0 I am one very happy bunny So many thanks to everyone on this and the USA forum without whom this would not have possible Trevor
  7. Hi I have the same problem on a 2005 LS430 in that the drivers side mirror adjusts horizontally but not vertically. I have bought another secondhand mirror so that I can mix and match the motors, drives etc and solve the problem. However I can't get past stage 1. I can't remove the mirror glass on either the car mirror or the other. I have read various suggestion on the forums and looked at the service manual for the car but none of the suggestions seem to work for me. Please, please, what am I doing wrong Trevor
  8. Thanks Steve. If it is quiet then when changing from cold/hot/cold you can hear a flap (or something) move. Certainly the air warms up instantly and cools down equally quickly.. It just that changing the temperature setting has no effect. I can either have full cold or full hot air. Will probably take the route through the Lexus engineer and let you know the result Thanks Again Trevor
  9. I have a problem, if anyone has any ideas. Just bought 2005 LS430. Great Car. The temp control on driver's side of centre console is the problem. If I set it at "cold" then cold air blows from everywhere, but as soon as I change it to 16 deg or above it just blows hot air, with no apparent regulation. The temperature I set it to doesn't seem to matter. It just keeps on blowing hot air until I have to open a window or turn back to "cold" Anyone else experienced this and any suggestions would be most welcome Trevor
