Headlight types for IS250

Hi All,

this is my 1st post in this forum, Sorry for any future typos (I'm not from the UK, from Israel)

My dad owns a IS250, 2008 model. 

His main headlight has a crack (UK drivers side) - see the attached picture.

I've done some reading and I understood that its impossible to buy only the len - bummer but we'll survive this..

the whole assembly here is around 500 GBP, I found on eBay UK a used headlight but I also noticed that this model has 2 sub-models (according to OSRAM's catalog)

1. a model with Xenon headlights

2. a model with halogen headlights

 

I'm not sure if this part:

will fit (the seller is a wrecker and I'm not sure he can provide me this info)

assuming I'm buying the wrong model, will it be possible to transfer all the wiring from my broken headlight to this or they are completely different in terms of reflectors / lens etc and I will just have a useless piece of plastic..

Yours is a halogen light no headlight wash. Also you will need a left hand drive model light, As the beam pattern will be wrong.

Thanks mate for your fast response, can the beam pattern be adjusted or buying a RHD parts is a waster of time and money?

You could take it apart and change the light fitting over. To be honest i would just buy the right part. Where are you from as may be easier to source.

You can take them apart and if you are that way inclined then there is a post on here from a user who done this - if I can find the post I will link it into this post. You would probably be better sourcing this from the USA as it would be a lot cheaper but check the beam is right first

That is not necessary the good clue.. Headlight washers for xenons are only mandatory in UK, so in Israel it might be different story....

I would say, check what is inside halogen and Xenon build are quite different...

...and if you have Xenon then you can get assembly from anywhere it would be "flat beam" and fully compatible. Obviously if it is Xenon, then you better of getting one from EU or US as UK ones would dazzle.
