Does anyone know if such things as phone holders might get in the way of an airbag deploying, such as this?

( Sorry it's 90 degrees sideways )

I don't think it will, but it may cause injury if it's launched acoss the car into someones face when the airbag does go off ...and judging by the size of the blindspot it seems to create (alongside the pillar) it's far more likely the airbag will go off ... lol ... surely you dont need your phone there ? ...does your SEL have Nav/bluetooth Piers ?

I think that will cause problems with the curtain airbag.

For my 400h I used a Brodit proclip holder which fitted to one of the middle air vents. No marks left behind. I now use another one for my IS.

Can I ask why you would need a holder for your phone ? ... I just leave mine in my pocket, or put it in the cup holder ...

I like my phone visible for my satnav app.

Maybe I need to reconsider the positioning though ...

Our Lidl has a cigarette socket charger with a bendy 2 foot arm with phone holder attached in their tat section - sounds like it could be just the ticket for you!

I'm thinking it could plug into the floor socket and pop up in the gap between the console and the cd changer!

Might be worth a look in your local one to see what they have?

So you don't have to use the rubbish Lexus Sat Nav :)

I use my phone for Sat Nav, music etc.

Based on thoughts here, I have relocated my phone holder - nearer to the rear view mirror.

I wouldn't want to have an accident and 'interfere' with an air bag.

The safety factor and the numerous air bags ( 7 ? ) persuaded me...
