Reconnecting The Reverse Led / Beep Unit

Recommended Posts

The reversing system LED guidance unit which was attached to the ceiling above the boot got ripped off unfortunately. There are 3 wires to reconnect, I hazarded a guess what to connect where based on their dangling position but no luck. Does anyone know which order they go in or where to find a wiring diagram?

Many thanks

Having an educated guess here:

One wire will be the live feed, one wire will be earth and the other will be a control wire that becomes live when the system is in use.

Multimeter to find out which is which, or lick the wires.

+1 for what Verbout says, multimeter is the way to go, will tell you what wires are which but saying that, where do they go?

Have they been pulled out of a connector or ripped from their soldered locations?

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah the wires have actually come out of the connector block. Even if I worked out which was live etc, I still need some guidance which to put where! I have already guessed the order wrong once, hoping I haven't fried any circuits in the process.. Only two more possible combinations, maybe I should just try them and hope one works.

If they have been ripped from their soldered joints as Chris mentioned you should, with the help of a jewellers loupe, be able to match the connections

They've got the metal cramps still attached, I assumed they would all be the same size?

EDIT: do I mean crimps? No idea :)
