Drivers Door Water Leak

Hi

Recently bought a used 2012 CT200h F-Sport.

Was really, really happy with the vehicle until today.

Following the heavy rain this week, I've noticed that water seems to be entering the car on the drivers side through the inside door handle and running down the door card.

The carpet is wet :(

Anybody else experienced this, is it a common issue? Is it easily fixed?

How likely is it that this issue would be covered under warranty?

Thank you

I don't think its a common issue.

It seems like it may be a seal problem. The main worry I would have is that if its getting into the door panel, there's a lot of electrics in there so I would be inclined not to touch any of the switches on that door for the time being.

I would assume its VERY likely that it would be covered under warranty unless the car has been in an accident on that side

Thanks for the response, it is appreciated.

There is no obvious evidence of accident damage that I can see.

Took the vehicle to a car wash today to see if I could reproduce the issue, but completely dry. Strange.

Maybe there was a temporary blockage, preventing the water from getting away and that has now cleared - hope so?

Have contacted the dealer that sold me the vehicle to make them aware and will take it in if happens again.

i would remove the door panel and make sure the waterproof membrane is intact

if there has been an issue  inside the door the membrame may of been torn or not

replaced correctly.

10 minutes to remove the door panel
