Flat Battery on NX Hybrid 2016

Recommended Posts

Great post Herbie. Most informative.

Just one question, I am considering getting a trickle charger but like Bristol I am reluctant to keep dismantling the boot every time I use it. So I did think of getting something like a CTEK MX5 with a socket lead. Using the fuse box charger point would be easier especially if I rigged up an inboard socket. You imply that charge point is effectively universal so would any suitable charger work on it?

Absolutely, yes - but the salient point is "suitable".

As long as it's a modern charger like the CTEK that has a clean and regulated output and not some 40 year-old transformer-based charger that would have a dirty unregulated output then yes, it'll be fine.

That dedicated 'jump start connector' under the red cover in the fusebox is connected directly back to the Battery positive terminal, so whether you put the charger/jumper at the front or the back it doesn't matter.
