Windscreen replacement

Here’s that promised feedback:

Faultless

Autoglass service was first class from start to finish. OEM part fitted exactly as requested and hoped for. John, who was in the car park ready to meet me, did the work. When he first saw the damage he said he could possibly fix it. But he wouldn’t be happy that it was the way to go.

Couldn’t have asked for better standard of work. Told me exactly what would take place and called me to tell me when he had completed the fitting.

Not a single thing can I complain about. And all for £50 excess and lifetime guarantee; nice one NFU.

Result happiness 👍

Betsy had a "Mr Stone, meet Mr Windscreen" moment yesterday. It was a loud bang but I thought I'd got away with it. Sadly when I returned after an arduous day's work, I found this:

Where the stone hit is the black blob at the top of the screen. The crack stops at the level where the visor would cover the screen so it's not going to cause any problems with vision but I am really annoyed!

Mincey, I feel your pain as I thought I’d got away on mine. Unfortunately I was wrong.

But, as I previously reported, all was well in the end with fine performances from NFU and Autoglass. The latter did a 5* job of fitting an OEM windscreen.

Don’t despair as I’m living proof of a perfect solution.

Holy thread resurrection Batman!

I've finally capitulated and decided to get Betsy's windscreen replaced. I'm with LV so it's straight to Autoglass. The booking process was easy, all online. However I just missed a call from them and from the very quiet message I understand that the job can't be done on my driveway due to all the lane detection malarkey she has. I can't get through to talk to them as there's no "3. Talk to us" option so I'm now waiting for a reply from the text facility they SMS'd me a link to...

Update!

Five minutes ago I got an email saying that ES windscreens were out of stock and they'd be in touch when one was available.

Two minutes ago another email arrived saying that they are ready for me at 11 tomorrow morning.

I am currently confused.

Windscreen replaced - genuine Lexus glass, so I'm well chuffed. I'm also feeling even more comfortable in Betsy now as the slightly altered position in which the technician left the seat seems better than my setting.
