Loud knocking sound

Hi guys…

My CT200 is making a loud horrible knocking sound…

I did realise the same sound a few times before but it came & went & only ever did it for a second or two.

But today whist driving the car lost power engine light came on with code P0012 & P3190.

The car does start but it’s a scary noise.

1st question is can it be the EGR valve any one ever experienced this ?

And is it worth cleaning out the valve ???

All I can tell you is that both codes relate to the camshaft.

P0012 Intake camshaft position timing.

P3190 Toyota/Lexus code - defective camshaft position sensor.

Neither of these relate to EGR

I think you'll need a garage.
