Headlight Level Sensor

Hi all,

I have an intermittent warning for ‘check headlight system’ on the dash.

The dealer has said it’s the headlight height level sensor but wants 640 euro saying that the part alone is over 500 euros. Seems excessive for a sensor. 
 

Can anyone tell me if there is just the one sensor for this, where abouts it is located and a part number please? 
 

If I can’t find the relevant sensor cheaper myself I might buy a second hand one from a breakers and fit it, providing there is only one of them and I can get the right one cheaply enough.

Sounds like you are being quoted for a new headlight.

Call the dealer and ask them for the part number, they will tell you.

Then report back here with the part number and we'll help you with the next step.

If it's the electrical part of the sensor there's plenty here on eBay

If it's the mechanical linkage part of the sensor there's plenty here again on eBay.

That doesn't look right, the is300h (and is250/200t gen 3) have self leveling headlight, what you have linked to looks old skool.  I replaced my headlight last year and that parts on eBay page was nowhere to be found on the headlight itself.

No one is talking about replacing the headlight Dess. This is the self-levelling system and sits under the car somewhere around the rear offside wheel if I remember correctly - never had to replace one myself so not exactly sure.

The self-levelling motor is on the headlight assembly but the OP specifically said "sensor". Just find a YouTube video about it.
