Exhausted

This is not my  SC thank god! But the exhaust centre box  needed replacing, long story short got it done locally  for £250, I thought this was expensive till I phoned a main dealer who quoted me £2,400 for the centre box not fitted WTF!! the not so funny thing about this ,I took my rav for a trade in price about 6 months ago  and they offered me £2,200 for it!!!!! There worth running into the ground if you can keep up with the bills.

If you can get bits like exhaust etc done outside of dealer then great.

I've had Toyota's in the past where parts have been dealer only, one of them was worn track rods that were an inherent part of steering rack ..1500 to sort (Japan part only)

I think there's a break point where once you go to 100,000 you have to decide , keep and pay maintenance or sell on !

I've had this car16yrs from new only done 67k and had a replacement engine under warranty at 22k (due to oil rings on pistons )a common  fault at that time I didn't even need to ask had it serviced and dealer said we are going to replace the whole engine, 😳 car owes me nothing so I will keep it   thanks for reply👍Stew
