Gear box oil service interval

I looked at this in a detailed way when running an ES. The Lexus UK position is the gearbox oil is for the life of the car and never needs changing. The question is what is their definition of the life of the vehicle? 10 years, 15 years? What if you want to run for longer? In other countries they change the fluid around 50-60k miles which seems prudent and sensible.

If the car is a keeper and manages to avoid being stolen changing the oil at 60k miles max seems a good idea. Independent specialists will do this job with the correct Toyota ATF.

At 105k I'd get it changed, just for peace of mind.

That said, I had mine changed at around 100k and the independent who did it said the old oil looked fine. It's worth getting them to tell you the condition of the old oil when they change it, so you'll have an idea of if/when to change it next.

Or maybe a partial drain and refill ?
Other Lexus models have been mentioned here with the drawbacks of a complete 100% change process
