Rear dashcam.

I was wondering if anyone has successfully managed to fit a rear dashcam to their Lexus SC430, and if so how did you do it?

Unless you are really keen I would not bother.

As well as extras in the form of a s/s exhaust system and 19 inch alloys my SC430 came with a front camera fitted at some time which I think has made the rear parking sensors faulty?

Some time I'll have the camera removed and see if I can get the rear parking sensors working properly again.

I fitted one of these a couple of years ago and works well although it’s bigger than the mirror and not so good in bright sunshine withe the roof down. It is a combined front and rear dash cam and when in reverse gear acts as a rear view camera as well. I already had a permanent live and switched live under the centre console so had to run wiring behind the dash and the under the side window cover to the top of the windscreen. I then had to run the cable to the rear camera and also pick the reversing light circuit to tell the unit when in reverse.

You have done exactly what I want to do. I'm interested in knowing where exactly you positioned the rear camera?

I bought the dash cam over two years ago and later bought the SC430mods.com reversing camera which uses the existing Sat Nav display so I have two side by side now but the is a picture when I only had the dash cam one.
