Looks a lot like those previously dismissed "spie shots".

Anyway what will the new IS look like?

'Guessing threads' on IS300.net suggest that it will be previewed at the Motor Shows next spring for an Autumn 05 launch. I just hope that it will be able to square up to the 3 series more effectively. Now that we have seen the new 3 series due for launch next year I'd like to think that Lexus could come up with a more stylish futuristic shape that leapfrogs the 3 series.

If you look at the LF-C and LF-S here

then they have some brilliant design ideas but it all tends to get watered down by the time the car hits the roads. However I'm sure that Lexus will have had the following in mind,

1) Keep up the policy of loading them with plenty of kit that is extra on other cars.

2) More bhp, around 200 and 250 for the petrols and to introduce a diesel at around 180bhp.

3) Come up with a more stylish futuristic shape that leapfrogs the 3 series.

All of the above will take the fight right into the blue propellors back yard.....
