External Temperature Display

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Have I missed something on here (I searched) or in the manual (I looked) or is it true that the RX300 does nothing special when the outside temperature drops below a certain level, say 3 degrees?

Every other decent car I have driven forces the display to temp, flashes, beeps, does something to warn you.

I really hope I am wrong and you will tell me how to activate this feature!

Cheers

C.

PS I have a 04 SE Nav

Sorry to bring bad tidings but the temp display does nothing special. I have had my series 2 RX for 18 months and have therefore been through one complete winter and the first part of this winter and nothing ,nada ,nought special occurs when the temp reaches shivering point.

all that will happen is that the display will flash - not really useful if you are driving and not looking at the clock all the time.

Yes, my IS just flashes the temperature display for a few seconds when the temperature falls to 3 degrees. You're very unlikely to see this unless you're specifically looking out for it (in which case what's the point?)

IMO it would be much more useful to flash the bright orange snow or traction control lights on the dashboard for a few seconds to warn that the road might be slippery.
