IS200 Gearbox

I'm having an on going (6 month) discussion with my Dealer about my clunky 1st to 2nd gear gearbox. He says that it is a normal characteristic of the car and that they all clunk from 1st to 2nd.

If anyone's gearbox does'nt do this could you let me know?, together with the age and mileage of your car. :?:

I cant quite believe a £20k "prestige" car that is top of all the motoring press polls has this in-built "feature" !! and that the motoring press have not picked up on it.

I always read glowing reports about the 6 speed manual trans.

Cheers.

Pete

Hi DruryPnj, welcome, have a look at the other threads in the engine and trans section. It appears to be a known "problem" with the IS 200, mine is the same, but not every time going from first to second. There are plenty of members with the same "charcteristic" so i dont think your local dealer should try and fob you off, especially if they are keeping an eye on this web-site as some say.
